This is a horrible snapshot. There is nothing positive about this, and the way you're going about this "merging" thing is way to unstable. I mean, you broke the ENTIRE FREAKING GAME. HOW, my kind friends, do you BREAK the game you've coded for years because you made it multiplayer-only? I mean, now we need a constant internet connection to play the game on SINGLE PLAYER.

Yeah, the new minecraft level rendering engine (Dubbed "Anvil" by the producers) will only render chunks with things in them. So, to be simple, it is actually FASTER now because there's LESS to render. There IS a hit on performance with this update (I myself had to go back to short for a while ) but they are working on fixing it. Also, I've seen the higher areas are still pretty good in generation, so I'm guessing there's just some sloppy code somewhere and we'll get a hotfix for it, or we'll get a major performance boost in 1.3.

So, it's a hack you won't let us downlaod and pinning on somone else? This is the worst thread I can think of, and I've gone on the ponie section of the tf2 forums.

I just realised that there's a new splash. "SOPA means LOSER in sweedish!".

Er... news flash, Cheetahs live in the open grasslands in africa. I know this is a game where farm animals run loose, but it's probably a tiger. Tigers live in Jungles and Rain forests.

Possibly an electrical shock, test it out to see!

Server Closing; Reasons and Final Date

Right. I've been a lousy owner on this one.
I haven't kept it updated, I haven't spent as much time as I've liked to fix all the bugs, and even though all promised content was there...it wasn't up to what I portrayed it to be.
So, I've decided I'm going to just shut the server down permanently. There's no way it's going to become as lively was it once was.

The original plan was to pass it off to another Admin to take care of, but then we realized that they had less time to work on it than I did, so there is really no point.
I have other projects I started months ago that are now coming to light again, so you'll likely see those popping up in the future.

And as for the people who donated, if you wish for a refund, please PM me the name of the account is was sent from, the email of the account, and the confirmation code of your donation (I have all this information from everyone who donated, I need it to confirm that it's you who I'm sending it back to).
Some older donations might make it impossible to send back, as it goes against my policy of "The last people to donate should get it back first", but I'll do my best.

Just know that if more people request refunds than I have funds, the later people may not get their money back, since there will be none left to send.

After watching an interesting movie about the good and evils of mankind. I began to think of Minecraft for some reason. As my mind tends to wander about searching for truth in life. I was wondering what inspirations one can take out of the Mine craft experience. Both Multi and single, creative and survival. I’ve played for a while and I enjoy the openness of the system. A metaphor for life really, like mincraft life is endless with seemingly endless possibilities. Only limited to the system you set for yourself. Seeing how one can “MOD” the game to their liking so can you “change the view” of the way you experience the world. You can make up your own with enough ambition, or follow the work of others.

In Mine Craft you can find both sides of humanity. While you make a masterpiece. Other will come along to grief, alter, or criticize your work. You can create a community of friends. Or spread anger and death (PVP). While the community is digital the people are real, the feelings no less real. If I wanted to move left so does my avatar.

If MineCraft is seen as a reflection of the collective soul of those who use it. Then it will be a game that can live on forever. But remember all those who play. It is a reflection of the potential good and a source of unimpeded darker things in the hearts of all.

There is no way to tell if Beta maps will work in the full release of the game, but I highly doubt that they won't work. When Mojang says they "release" minecraft, it just means that if Minecraft breaks your computer, they have to give you support for it. But, still, new updates can possibly disrupt worlds.

Anyway, your sandbox game has not changed. The only "forced" update is hunger. If that bothers you, downgrade to 1.7 and problem solved. You can always play survival sandbox as you have since Alpha. None of the updates are required to play your sandbox game.
