posted a message on Whales and Whalefalls

    Whales

Whales are very rare passivemobs that are 30m long, and resemble real blue whales. They are blue in colour, and cannot be bred. They can move at 10m/s, and can kill player with their tail slaps. They also spray air out of their blowhole. During the day, they swim with their mouths open at 90 degrees and eyes open. At night, they swim slower, with mouths and eyes closed. They swim in pods. They have undead variants. The first variant looks normal, except they have many wounds, and a swarmed by hagfish and sleeper sharks. The second variant is a skeleton with small amounts of flesh and limpets attached (Not limpet mobs, but built into the whale). The third variant is made of gravel and assorted whale bones, and make the water around them look toxic, and apply the effects of toxic water. They all swim around, and will create a huge explosion that destroys blocks even if they are underwater if they are attacked enough. Whales drop lots of blubber, stage 1 undead whales drop bluber and some rotten flesh, stage 2 undead whales drop bones and some blubber and rotten flesh, and stage 3 undead whales drop gravel and bones

    Whalefalls

Whalefalls are a biome that is found underwater. They come in different stages. The first stage can spawn from whales that despawn in untouched chunks, and the rest can come from the previous stage. They can all spawn on world generation

    Stage 1:

In this stage, the whalefall is made of bone blocks and blubber blocks, a new block which resembles flesh. The blubber block drops blubber, a food which can be crafted into flesh blocks, sold to villagers, used as an efficient fuel, or brewed into a resistance potion. The overall shape is roughly that of a whale, with with the major internal organs, and some of the flesh missing. Sleeper sharks and hagfish spawn at this stage. Sleeper sharks are neutral, and if left alone will chew on flesh blocks, and sometime bone blocks. They are about as strong as a naked zombie. They drop blubber. Hagfish are passive, but will produce a 5-6 block wide irregular ball of slime blocks if attacked, and then swim away. They can swim through slime and flesh blocks. They can be caught in buckets, and drop slimeballs.

    Stage 2:

In this stage, there are less blubber blocks, and a few less bone blocks, and some gravel covering the whalefall. Some of the blubber is moved from the bones, and some of the bones are moved. Limpets and crabs spawn at this stage. Limpets crawl on surfaces, and are small. They can be picked up by hand, like fish can with buckets, and be eaten, giving a useless limpet shell. They drop limpet shells when killed. Crabs run sideways, and are neutral. They are weak attackers. They drop crab meat, which can be cooked and eaten. There are also bristleworms, which are kelp-like blocks that spawn in 1-3 block stacks on gravel and flesh.

    Stage 3:

In this stage, there are only scattered, half-buried, broken whale bones, surrounded by toxic water. Toxic water is slightly yellower and darker, and gives poison 2, nausea 2, and hunger 2 for 1 minute after leaving the toxic water. You can become immune to toxic water with the sulphophilic status effect, which in obtained by drinking a thick potion. In the whalefall, there are large, almost transparent, yellow-brown clouds that float around. There are also worms. They take damage outside of toxic water. They can live swimming freely in the whalefall, crawling on the bones, crawling on the gravel, or digging through the gravel . Worms vary in length between .5m-1.5m, in width between .1m-.5m, in speed between 1m/s-3m/s, in transparency between 75%-0%, and in colour between any colour in the normal RGB system, with the mouth being another colour, but in the different half of the luminosity spectrum. They can also, sometimes, have patterns, like rings, stripes, spots, and speckles, in any colour.. There are also rare additions to the body. They can have 2, 4, 6, or 8 pastel-coloured fangs, with a varying angle pointing outwards and length. They can have spines of varying angle of elevation, colour and length. They can have back fins of varying colour, height and length. They can have up to 7 pairs of limbs, which are the colour of the body, and vary in length and thickness, and can have fins varying in length, which come out of the back of the limbs, and are the colour of the back fin, if present, and are otherwise a random colour. They can be neutral or hostile. Some can shoot a projectile that causes damage, and looks like a llama spit, but in any colour. Some, rarely can apply a negative effect with their attacks, or a positive effect to themselves. They can drop blubber, bonemeal, slimeballs, or rotten flesh.

Huh? Even in Minecraft, a single entity cannot actually be in two places at once. Even really large ones like dinosaurs or ender dragons.

If there was a stack of 2 leaf blocks, it could stand on the lower one, while being in the upper one. That is what I mean

Blazes should also spawn from fire, in the nether, if a fire block is left alone with all 4 sides as fire, in the overworld, where the above pattern is struck by lightning. Also, blazes struck by lightning while in fire should become fire tornadoes, which are ultra fast, spread fire beneath them, are huge, and are immune to rain.

The early bird is a 1m tall mob. It has a pair of long, black wings with orange flight feathers. It has long legs with yellow flight feathers. It body is small and grey, with red stripes. It has a scaly, grey-green foot with 2 toes, a hallux, and a sickle claw. Its claws are white. They make squawking, screeching, and growling sounds, without opening their mouth. They can be put on a leash.

They can glide, and fly for 5m in any direction. It can walk through leaves, and on other leaves, at the same time. It spawns in the jungle. It will silently swallow whole any parrots or kittens that walk or fly past it, or land on the leaf block it is in. It will also swoop down to catch parrots, kittens, and fish. They sometimes swoop down and attack mobs, giving them poison 1 for 20 minutes. Once they stop taking damage, they swoop again and attack again. If the attacked one dies, they grab the meat and fly off. If they don't, they will quickly fly away. They are like a neutral mob, but start hostile and become passive, and run, fly, or glide away, on attack.

They can also be made passive by giving them tools. They can then be tamed with fish. When tamed, they can poison player who attack you, but will need some swords or axes to affect zombies and skeletons. They cannot mine. They make sounds when sitting down or standing up in leaves. They will collect meat items on the floor, and will bring them to their owner. They will sit on their owners head, and will noisiling fall off if their owner looks up or down too far. They will not eat the parrots of their owner, unless they have left the early bird for a day, and they are not looking. They will freely eat another player's parrots.

That isn't really valid, as I used only traits that have been ascribed to gryphons

"glide and climb, but not fly": the ability to climb (ie. to gain altitude) in the air is the definition of flying. But it can only climb up walls
How can it "pick up horses" and "bring them to its nest" , if it cannot fly? It grab them with its beak, and then walks and climbs back
If "They are unable to jump from water, and they drown quickly.", why would they "flap their wings and stop gliding once they are within one block of it [water]" ? They are panicing

The gryphon is a hostile mob. It has a red eagle head with a long unicorn horn and ass ears. It has a dark blue neck, a black body, a purple chest, white wings with a red membrane attached behind it, black lion forelegs with red horse hooves, and a leopard-coloured lion hindquarters. It has eagle hindlegs with red webbing. It has a long, lion tail. It is 8m tall. It can glide and climb, but not fly. It can pick up horses, and will bring them to its nest. Its nest is made of logs, and is on a giant pile of gold blocks and gold ore, in about a 2:1 ratio Their are always 2 gryphons in a nest when the nest spawns. They will attack anyone who tries to mine the gold, and will remember who has tried to mine the gold. They also attack those who attack them or their eggs, and remember. Their eggs are blocks of smooth emerald. The eggs drop emeralds when broken. They hatch slowly. Baby gryphons are 2m tall, and lack wings and a horn. Gryphons are fast and strong in attack, but have average health and low defense. They will avoid water, and will run from water that comes near them. They will glide off land over water at least 20 block below them, but will flap their wings and stop gliding once they are within one block of it. In water, they move extremely slowly, and sink only slightly slower than falling. They are unable to jump from water, and they drown quickly. If water is flowing towards them, they will try to peck out a cave to hide in, but they can't break anything with a higher barehand break time than stone, except gold ore and blocks.

posted a message on Wild Hunt

The wild hunt is a group of undead, semitransparent skeletons wearing tattered clothes and riding on semitransparent skeleton horses. They carry shields with a black background, white sun and red skull and crossbones. They also have a cross unser the sun charge, with variable colour. If to meet, and have the same cross colour, they will fuse into one group. They also carry either a bow, sword or axe. They can have armour, or horse armour. All their equiment is semi transparent. They come in many sizes. Larger ones may have mages. Mages carry only books and a banner like the shield of their group. They throw spells, which emit potion particles, and when they collide with the ground, they explode into many potion particles. The trail and explosion both give the effect. They can only throw when you are far away. They will attack anything they see, and won't stop hunting until they kill their target. Their horses can jump up to 20 blocks. They drop bones, rotten flesh, and rarely, the leader, who is larger and has a larger horse, will drop a totem of scattering, which means that when you die, everthing without the curse of vanishing will turn into a bat which will fly to you. These bats can be picked up by any other player, or a hopper. When picked up, they give whatever item they once were. They follow item despawn rules, but have bat health and can die, dropping the item that they were. When any member of the wild hunt dies, they turn into semitransparent bats which fly up and go through walls. When a rider dies, their horse does too, but the reverse doesn't happen. Mages explode in a ball of poison.

Maybe cities should give a random debuff if you stay there too long. (The resident villagers would be immune to this debuff)

Maybe there should be large ships in the ocean that are villages, adapted to make houses work under a roof.
