First of all. Being mean online is a serious crime in many countries.
second of all: A real admin cares about the ones who play on the server
third of all: if u are going to be mean to the players on a server why the would u even have a server. A server is made to play with other players and have fun. U do not have a server to to be mean.
Being mean on social medias like facebook or other social medias is verry illegal and is considered as violation wich can be punished with large amount of Money, so why would it be any different on servers?
It's illegal to be mean online? Wow, where's all my money? I'm been called a - plenty of times and I'm still paying my student debt myself.
Seriously, do you really believe that being mean to someone online is a crime? It's not. It isn't a crime to be mean at all. I can call someone an butt on the street and there's literally nothing they can do about it aside from me being asked to walk away.
"A real admin?" A real admin is literally anyone who has the rank of admin, just like any real sandwich is some bread with a savory filling (according to the Oxford English Dictionary). Just because what you want to see in an admin doesn't line up with some you've run into doesn't mean they aren't "real admins." Like xilefian said, an admin can do whatever they want, it's their server, not yours. Just like I can't tell people they aren't eating a sandwich just because I think all "real sandwiches" have bacon.
Why would someone run a server if they're just going to be mean to people? I don't know, why is anyone mean to anyone? It's just how people are. Maybe that admin doesn't want to play with other people but likes the power of being in charge. Maybe the new players annoy them because they don't play the same way. Maybe the admin's mother just died and they're having a really bad day - neither you nor I know anything causal and anyone can run a server for any reason they want. You, some random user, do not get to decide why someone gets to run a server or be an admin. In the same way, I don't get to choose who else goes to university with me, but do I complain about it? No, because I'm not being petulant.
TL;DR - Being mean is not a crime, OP doesn't get to choose what an admin is like, OP doesn't get to say what people do with servers. -

Xilefian posted a message on admins/admin abuseThis thread is quickly losing correct information, the facts are;Posted in: Discussion
A server owner is an administrator and they will designate administrators to uphold their rules, you can appeal to the next in-command and send them your complaints, but they do not have a responsibility to deal with your complaint correctly and they have the right to make up rules and do what they want with their property.
Mojang have zero right to influence the operation of a server and have zero responsibility over server operations, complaining Mojang will do zero for you because it has nothing to do with them, Mojang cannot disconnect Minecraft servers because they have no powers over that, there is no phone-home system in servers, Minecraft uses a dedicated server model based on stand-alone server operating which is a practise that has been around since the 70s so a server can survive on closed-networks (Or when a network goes down the server doesn't freak).
What if they are not even running the official Minecraft server software? In that case they don't even have Mojang's server EULA around them, so Mojang have even less to do with the server operation.
This is not cyber-bullying, cyber bullying is targeted at a personal level, this is a broad-sweep of admins being which they are allowed to be as it is their property, you can complain all you want but they are under no obligation or law to listen.
This is a fact of the internet that has been around since the days of IRC and MUDs before the world wide web existed, they are called Private Servers for a very good reason, they are private to the person operating them, it is their property, their rules, their electricity and internet bills, their processor that has to deal with your load and not any broader company (Not Mojang, not anyone).
It is useless arguing about this because it is a cornerstone of internet operations that has been around since before most people here were even born (Including myself) and I understand fully where the complaints are coming from because I used to be the one complaining about this when I was young, but this is a problem where the internet is clashing with dated laws that are designed to govern a physical world based on country/state borders.
Remember this crucial piece of information;
You are staring at tiny pixels lighting up on a screen and listening to magnetic drums pumping airwaves out of speakers, you are not reading letters of the alphabet you are reading pixels, you are not playing Minecraft you are sending signals via keyboard/mouse to your machine which decodes those as 0s and 1s for changing RAM values which is packaged up and sent down a wire to the internet.
You have that buffer between you and the internet, don't get emotionally attached to binary bleeps-and-bloops going across the planet, they aren't worth it, don't get upset about how pixels on the screen light up and don't get upset if your binary bleeps-and-bloops on an ethernet line are dealt with in a certain way by someone else's machine. Not worth it, it's useless arguing with it and frankly the internet is much bigger than 1 person complaining. -

Where is the crime committed when it is on an online server? You just highlighted another problem with the dedicated server model, the dedicated server is not necessarily in a location that is governed by the same laws as the players, you can't make that guarantee, the admins may be in the same country as you but if the server is on the moon (Where there are no laws, the moon is governed by the same international treaty that covers the south-pole) then where is the illegal activity happening?
Is it the admin in the same country as you? Or is it happening on the server which is on the moon? Or is it even happening at all? Considering that the internet is made up of signals that are decoded to binary for our computers to display, is it abuse that you're receiving or a series of computer signals that you are getting emotionally invested with?
Your "2nd of all" is an opinion, a real admin is someone who is an administrator, doesn't mean they have to care, you can have an administrator of a torture chamber whose job is to not care about the victims.
Your "3rd of all" is another great mystery of the net. Perhaps they made the server so they can have fun? Maybe part of their fun is being mean to other players for no reason at all?
On a personal level, you sound exactly like how I was when I was aged 10-13, when I was first getting used to the internet. Your very same complaint and questions is one that I had with internet forums and chat rooms, I faced mean admins and moderators and believed it is wrong because they weren't being democratic and they weren't acting in the interest of 'customer satisfaction' or whatever.
What I am telling you is a social lesson that I learnt from an admin many years ago from your very same position. -

bigbro223 posted a message on New Slimeballs UsesSlimeballs are a good drop from the mob known as a Slime. They are used to make Sticky Pistons and Magma Cream, both useful for players. But do you think that's good enough? I think they need a touch more usefulness and I have three ideas for Slimeballs.Posted in: Suggestions
Slime Block
The first new use for Slimeballs is the Slime Block. By placing Slimeballs in a 3 by 3 pattern in a Crafting Table, players receive a Slime Block. These Slime Blocks is slightly transparent (Similar to Ice) and slows down mobs and players when stepped on, similar to Soul Sand (Does not effect Slimes and Magma Cubes). If right-clicked on with a dye, the Slime Block changes color to the color of that dye. The more times you click on it with a dye, the more the block looks like the color of that dye. If a player falls on a Slime Block, it breaks the player's fall damage by 2 Hearts and guarantees the player will always have at least 0.5 Hearts if he/she falls on it.
Sticking Redstone and Falling Objects to Walls
The second new use for Slimeballs is the ability to make Redstone, Gravel, Anvils, or Sand stick to walls. By right-clicking on a block with a Slimeball (using up the Slimeball in the process) and then placing the Redstone, Gravel, or Sand on the slimed block, it sticks to the wall without falling. This is a good use for making roofs out of Gravel and Sand, plus making even more cooler and crazier Redstone contraptions. When the placed block is removed, the Slimeball disappears from the wall and needs to be replaced.
Transparent Dye
The third new use for Slimeballs is to make Transparent Dye. It is revealed Slimeballs can make blocks transparent. Transparent Dye makes the dyed object slightly transparent. The more times dyed, the more transparent it becames. However, objects cannot turn completly invisible.
Transparent Dye Crafting Recipe
= Slimeball
= Wool

Slimed Bow and Arrows
The last use for Slimeballs is to make Slimed Arrows. By placing an Arrow and a Slimeball in a Crafting Table, players receive a Slimed Arrow. The Slimed Arrows take longer to charge up, does 0.5 less Heart damage, but when it hits a mob, it slows it down for 1.5 seconds. In order to fire this kind of Arrow, you need to shoot it from a Slimed Bow. Slimed Bows look like a regular bow, but the wood is a light green color.

I've seen it around on youtube.
It's a special in game tool, where you click on one point, then click on another point (creating some sort of box)
then you would type something like //stone (something along those lines...ugh, my memory escapes me...)
Anyone know what this mod is? And is it compatable with multiplayer + hamachi?

Slushey posted a message on The End v2 (PICTURES INCLUDED) [v1.4]Posted in: Suggestions
Welcome to The End v2, one of the biggest upgrades suggested for The End so far. This thread will include two new mobs, many new items and an entirely new concept for The End. It will also include a few minor upgrades to the current The End and its inhabitants. Through this idea I am trying to make The End a far more interesting place and a highly anticipated area in Minecraft.
Before I begin, I would also like to note that this suggestion is for vanilla Minecraft. Perhaps in the future this will become a mod but right now I'm not making it nor am I organizing for it to happen. I guess it all comes down to how well Notch makes the final version of The End which will decide whether this becomes a mod or not. :wink.gif:

Conclusion/Support
Mobs:
Endermen:
Spawn: The End, Overworld
Health: 20
Description: Endermen are a neutral mob and will only attack the player when provoked. You will provoke an Endermen to fight you if you look at it in the eyes and then look away after. When fighting an Endermen it will teleport around you to avoid being hit. When it comes in contact with water it will take a small amount of damage, although it will try to avoid falling into the water by teleporting away. They can pick up a range of different blocks and place them where they please. In the new, The End, Endermen will be a lot less common because there are now new mobs.
Drops: Ender Pearl
Dark Spirit:
Spawn: The End
Health: 30
Description: Dark Spirits are the second most dangerous mob in The End, following just behind the Ender Dragon. They are a hostile mob and will attack you when you have been noticed. Dark Spirits are quite rare to encounter compared to Endermen and Shadow Critters. About 1/30 mobs found in The End will be a Dark Spirit. When fighting a Dark Spirit you will notice it’s unique form of combat. When they notice you they will start to fly towards you and when they get close to you they will split into five Dark Spirits. Only one of these however is the real Dark Spirit. Hitting a fake Dark Spirit will make it instantly disappear after one hit. If you hit the real Dark Spirit, all the fakes will disappear. After it hits you all the fakes will disappear and the Dark Spirit will quickly flee backwars about 5 to 10 blocks. It will then restart this process over again. If it does manage to hit you, the damage will range from 1 to 5 health points. This unique form of combat will be quite different to anything previously seen in Minecraft.
Drops: Spirit Diamond
Shadow Critter:
Spawn: The End
Health: 10
Description: Shadow Critters are the weakest mob in The End, but they are not necessarily easy to defeat. They are a neutral mob and will only attack you if you attack them. They will also attack you if you attack another Shadow Critter within a 10 block radius. Shadow Critters are quite small being about 1 block high in height. When fighting a Shadow Critter they will sometimes turn themselves invisible, leaving a very faint glow around them. They will only stay invisible for up to about 10 seconds. They only way to force them out of being invisible is to hit them successfully. Shadow Critters will run around you quickly and attack you from different positions.
Drops: Shadow Crystal
Bosses:
Ender Dragon:
Spawn: The End
Health: 100
Description: The Ender Dragon is the hardest boss in the game with a total of 100 health points. It is basically impossible to defeat without the use of potions, splash potions, enchantments, food and good tactics. The Ender Dragon will destroy any block that it flies through with the exception of whitestone and obsidian. This means that it will only destroy blocks that you bring into The End. Ender Dragons are a neutral mob and will only attack you if you enter their nest. They fight using a mixture of fire attacks and melee attacks.
Life Cycle: When The End is first generated it will generate one nest somewhere in the world. When you enter that nest the Ender Dragon will turn from neutral to hostile to protect the egg in the nest. The egg is quite big and will not hatch while the Ender Dragon is still alive. When you kill the dragon and leave The End the egg will hatch and a new Ender Dragon will re-spawn. When you re-enter The End you will be able to see this new Ender Dragon. Upon returning to the nest you will notice a new egg in a new location. This cycle repeats itself every time the Ender Dragon is killed.
Drops: The Ender Blade, Dragon Bone [x2] and Dragon Scale [x15].
Items:
The Ender Blade:
The Ender Blade is unlike any other sword in Minecraft. Firstly, it doesn’t follow the same template as other swords. I thought that since this would be an extremely rare sword it deserved a new and individual look. Secondly, each player can only obtain one The Ender Blade at a time. The Ender Dragon will not drop a second sword if you still have one in possession but if you somehow obtain a second via a friend or whatever your old one will disappear. Third and finally, although The Ender Blade will lose charges as you use it, it will not disappear upon using all of its charge. For this weapon instead of having to obtain another you will have to repair it.
When you first obtain The Ender Blade it will be damaged and unusable. To be able to use it you will have to repair it first (as mentioned above). To repair The Ender Blade use the following recipe.
After repairing it you will finally be able to use it in combat. The Ender Blade will be better than a Diamond Sword but not so good that it overpowers every mob in the game. However, The Ender Blade will last no longer than a Diamond Sword and then you will have to repair it again.
Apart from all of this, The Ender Blade also has a special ability which is only available in this particular sword. If you kill a mob with this sword there will be a 1/10 chance of the mob additionally dropping a ‘Blood Heart’. They will look something like this:
If you pick up ‘Blood Heart’ it will restore 1 full heart in your health bar. ‘Blood Hearts’ will not be able to be stored in your inventory; they will go into effect immediately. Thus you can not collect them and use them whenever you want.
Dragon Scale Armour:
PICTURE COMING SOON!
Dragon Scale Armour is not like typical Minecraft armour. Unlike normal armour, Dragon Scale Armour is best at absorbing projectile attacks from mobs such as Ghasts, Skeletons and Blazes. Dragon Scale Armour will absorb melee attacks as well but no better than Diamond Armour does. It will use the same template as all other armour with the exception of a different colour and texture.
A special ability this armour also obtains is the ‘Deflect Ability’. This ability only works when fighting a mob which uses ranged-type attacks (eg. Skeletons, Blazes and Ghasts). What the ‘Deflect Ability’ does is when you are fighting these mobs you’ll have a 1/10 chance of the attack being deflected back at them. This also works in multiplayer PvP if somebody tries attacking you with a bow and arrows you will have a chance of deflecting that arrow as well. To put this into context, if a Ghast shoots fire at you then there is a 1/10 chance that they will receive the damage instead.
To obtain Dragon Scale Armour you will have to collect Dragon Scales from the Ender Dragon. Every time you kill an Ender Dragon it will drop a total of 15 Dragon Scales which is just enough to create a platebody and leggings. If you want to create the helmet and boots you will have to return to the dragon and fight it again.
Sadly, unlike the Blade of the Damned, you will not be able to easily repair your Dragon Scale Armour. Like all other armour in Minecraft armour when you use all of the charges in your Dragon Scale Armour it will disappear and if you want to get it again you’ll have to refight the Ender Dragon to obtain more scales.
Ender Pearl:
Ender Pearls are dropped by Endermen in both The End and the Overworld. When thrown you will teleport to the location were the land but you will also accumulate a small amount of damage.
Spirit Diamond:
Spirit Diamonds are dropped by Dark Spirits in The End. If you right click while holding a Spirit Diamond it will shatter and your character will split into five. However, only one of these will really be you. Mobs will attack any of the five characters. If they hit one of the four fakes they will instantly disappear after one hit. If they hit the real you all the fakes will disappear and the fight will continue.
Shadow Crystal:
Shadow Crystals are dropped by Shadow Critters in The End. Same as the Spirit Diamond, if you right click while holding a Shadow Crystal it will shatter. This will unleash a magical effect and will make your player invisible for up to 10 seconds. This effect will instantly ware off once you hit a mob.
Dragon Bone:
A Dragon Bone is a larger version of the current bone which is dropped by Skeletons. They are dropped by Ender Dragons in The Ender. These will have no different use to a normal bone other than when crafting them into bone meal instead of producing 3 bone meal, it will create 10. Ender Dragon’s will drop two of these bones every time you kill one of them.
Dragon Scale:
Dragon Scales are dropped by Ender Dragons in The Ender. They have but one use which is to create Dragon Scale Armour. Each Ender Dragon will drop a total of 15 Dragon Scales which is just enough for you to create the platebody and leggings. Creating the helmet and boots will require you to kill a second Ender Dragon.
Blocks:
Whitestone:
Whitestone is the block which makes up the majority of The End. It has similar properties to stone. It is white in colour and requires a pickaxe to mine. Right now when you mine it will drop cobblestone instead of whitestone. However, I propose this should be changed. Upon mining whitestone it should drop a whitestone block so that adventurers can take it back to the Overworld to display in their homes.
Obsidian:
Obsidian is used to build the Obelisks which are scattered throughout The End.
Blackstone:
Blackstone is a rare block in The End. It looks similar to whitestone in texture but is almost pitch black in colour. Blackstone is only used to build the Dragons Nest. Blackstone retains similar properties to that of bedrock. Blackstone cannot be mined, thus it cannot be taken back into the Overworld.
Dragon Egg:
Only ONE Dragon Egg will spawn in each world. This block will only spawn in The End inside a Dragons Nest. Just as Blackstone, the Dragon Egg is an unbreakable block.
Portal Block:
A Portal Block is exactly the same as The End Portal blocks used in the Overworld to access The End. Even in The End it is no different.
Structures:
Plains:
The plains make up the majority of The End. They are formed of whitestone blocks.
Obelisks:
Obelisks are scattered all throughout The End. They are giant tower-like structures which are made purely from obsidian.
Portal:
PICTURE COMING SOON!
The portal in The End which takes you back to the Overworld looks exactly the same as the portal leading from the Overworld to The End. However, every time you enter The End the portal will reset again. Three of the sides (9/12 portal blocks) will have an Eye of Ender placed in them making the portal 3/4 activated. The twist being the last 3/12 blocks are not activated with Eye of Ender’s. Instead, you must fill these blocks with an Ender Pearl, Spirit Diamond and Shadow Pearl which you must obtain by killing mobs in The Ender. Once you place these three gems into the remaining three portal blocks the portal will open again returning you to the Overworld.
Dragons Nest:
In The End it will only generate ONE Dragons Nest on each world. This nest is home to the Ender Dragon and entering it will result in the Ender Dragon returning back there to fight you. The Dragons Nest is made up of entirely Blackstone, which cannot be mined (as with bedrock). In the Dragons Nest will sometimes be little scattered pools of lava. There will also be a dragon egg which will only hatch once the Ender Dragon has been slain (and after you re-enter The End).

Personally, I've heard Norton, was rumored to have "released their own viruses" in order to make them look good. I have no proof of this, but this was a rumor a couple years back.
I dont use Norton, and never will. Symantec, despite them developing Norton, seems to fare better. But it is one thwt you have to buy.
Another free anti-virus software is "avast!". Its done its job so far with me, but I'd take Malwarebytes over it. A lot of the free anti-virus software would suffice, but it really depends on what youre doing, from either normqlly surfing the web, without downloading anything. or to torrenting movie, etc.
The OP isnt calling the mod infected, he's saying the SITES that host the files have the RISK of viruses lurking around.
