Starting on an amplified world.. No lag at all. When I destroy a block, it pops back in place. I destroy it over and over and over, keeps reappearing. Then 10 seconds later about, the block finally destroys and gives me the resource.Note that flowers and grass destroy and give item instantly.Bug does not occur on a large biome world.Verified the bug does not exist in 1.7.2

I play on a computer I built 4 years ago. I get no lag. I also play on a more recently bought laptop. Again, no lag.
I agree, though, that optimizing should become more of a priority. Just saying from a developer's standpoint. I am always going back to improve the quality of my work.
Haven't played Minecraft in a while, but that next update looks amazing. I want rain.
So I started up a new world and discovered that it is waaaaaay too dark now. Mine myself a little hovel, plant a few torches... still can't see. At night time I literally can't see a block right in front of my eyes. Torches illuminate nothing in confined spaces. Out in the open they make some things visible.
What gives? And why is there no forum search tool?
Okay, good deal. When I attempt to run Minecraft after installing the mod, it freezes during the game update after logging in. Removing the mod fixes this.
So I downloaded version 7, and in looking at the files I have to question why minecraft.bin/net/minecraft/client/MineCraft.class needs to be modified. Curiously, my game started freezing on login. I hope you didn't just rob my login information. Anyone have a clean file that actually has the mod?

He could be basing these changes on suggestions made through the system he added to gather suggestions for game improvement.
To the Op: If that is your twitter account, it really does look like you fished Notch on Twitter so you could post a complaint =)
