posted a message on EXTREMELY NEW MINECRAFT SERVER | Taking full staff team in recruitment! anyone can join! | Admins, Head-admin, Moderators etc.

    NAME: Keelan[/b]

    AGE: 18[/b]

    IGN: kiyz[/b]

    DISCORD: Keelan#8913[/b]

    POSITION OF CHOICE: Head Developer/Manager[/b]

WHY CHOOSE YOU: I am experienced, committed and a team player. I have a wealth of knowledge that I can employ in my work in either management or development, and I can work long hours to get the job done.[/b]

    PAST EXPERIENCE (IF ANY): [/b]

I have much experience in project management. Firstly, I have worked as an administrator on many Minecraft servers, and I have run a few short-lived ones myself. Therefore, I have a lot of experience reviewing staff applications, managing staff and reviewing ban appeals. Secondly, (unrelated to Minecraft but I think it's still relevant) I worked as the project manager for the wikiHow article review project, which was a scheme organised by wikiHow to check articles for accuracy, involving a team of hundreds of reviewers, both professionals and community members. I volunteered to join the project in its early stages and was appointed manager soon thereafter, working directly under the wikiHow management team. I was tasked with organising team members, categorising articles to be reviewed, approving reviewed articles, and collecting and displaying data about the project (all of this data was stored in Google Sheets, so I am very familiar with that). I also ran a weekly newsletter giving information and updates about the project and I frequently contacted team members personally about their performance, congratulating them or telling them to improve. There were also plans to give awards to the best team members, but wikiHow management decided against it. Of course, the article review wasn't my idea, but everything else like storing data and the newsletter was thought of and organised by me. This position gave me loads of experience in team management, organisation, data management and idea generation, which I believe would be invaluable to the Hyseria team. There was also a significant aspect of community relations involved, where I needed to encourage people to join and continue working on the project, as well as handling support requests, all of which are valuable skills for this position.

    [/b]

I have developed for many small- and medium-scale servers. I have been programming in Java for around five years now, and most of that time has been spent creating Bukkit/Spigot plugins for my own and others' servers. I can also code in HTML & CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Ruby (and Rails), Python, C++, C# and SQL. I have designed websites for a few clients, and I have also won national awards for my web apps.

    [/b]

I can write plugins for minigames and utilities (ban management, chat moderation etc.), design websites, manage many forums systems, create web interfaces (like online admin dashboards - where each staff member has a profile, can communicate with others, and can carry out certain actions like banning by clicking various buttons that automatically complete these tasks on the server), manage databases, and work with BungeeCord. I'm able to use git source control as well.

    posted a message on πŸ† OG+ πŸ† βœ‚οΈ 2020 REFORMATION βœ‚οΈ (URGENT HIRING AS OF 12/7/2020!) 1.16.3 ALL REGIONS.

    IGN: kiyz
    Age: 17
    Gender: Male
    Timezone: GMT+0
How long can you be on a day?: 3-4 hours daily
What languages do you speak?: English, Irish, French
Are you be able to record videos?: Yes
Do you have a working microphone?: Yes
What role are you aiming for?: Admin/Managerial role OR Full-stack developer

Do you know any Music Composition? (Not very important, but can open up another path for a staff role): Yes, I have composed for a few years, have won awards, and had my works performed by the Dublin String Quartet and Chamber Choir Ireland.

    Detailed Questions
Have you ever been punished on OG+ and somewhere else? If so, why and did you learn from it?: No, I haven't

Why do you want to be staff on OG+?: This project interests me, and shows dedication from the team. I see so many ambitious projects ultimately fail due to a lack of drive, or a clear absence of organisation. I am fascinated by the artificial intelligence NPCs, and think that this is unique even among other RPG games, where interactions are so often prescribed and scripted. I would relish the opportunity to be involved in this

Do you have any previous moderating experience on similar servers?: I have much experience in project management. I'm able to use git source control as well.

How would you deal with lower staff members if you found they weren't effective/didn't contribute: I would attempt to contact the staff member in private, and try to ascertain why they were being ineffective - if there is an issue with the server (they're not being supported, their job is too boring, etc.) I would try my best to help with this. If there is a personal issue or commitment, I can understand that, and tell them to take some time to consider whether they are able to commit to the server while it's happening. And if they're unwilling to communicate, I would recommend them for demotion.

Are you able to offer creative ideas to help shape the server, and if you were how would you contribute in that aspect?: I am able to offer new ideas from a development perspective. I would be glad to share more over Discord.

    Hey!

I'd be interested in applying for the Community Team role (for Europe). This project fascinates me, and shows incredible dedication from the entire development team. I see so many ambitious projects ultimately fail due to a lack of drive, or a clear absence of organisation. I think this project, though, has both in abundance. I agree with you that the idea of a living, breathing universe is revolutionary, and unique even among other RPG games, where interactions are so often prescribed and scripted. I would relish the opportunity to be involved in this.

As for my experience: I have much experience in project management. Firstly, I have worked as an administrator on many Minecraft servers, and I have run a few short-lived ones myself. This position gave me loads of experience in team management, organisation, data management and idea generation, which I believe would be invaluable to the Frontiers team. There was also a significant aspect of community relations involved, where I needed to encourage people to join and continue working on the project, as well as handling support requests, all of which are valuable skills for this position.
