    Great mod! This excited me enough to pick up minecraft again after several months away. Great job so far!

    One thought I have about it:
    I have to agree with.... um... 'cheeselover'... that having to mine soo much stone is a real bore. A quarry is coming soon I hope. Maybe only if there are mountains near by and built into the mountain?

    Then again, the more jobs you give npc, the less you give for the player to interact with 'raising' the village.
    Two solutions I think would be fun would be having the player trade goods between villages that are deficient (forest get wood usually, deserts glass, sandstone and mountains (?) stone..)
    The other idea being to have items or quests for different villagers to upgrade their dwellings, or save their village even.. ;p

    I don't know if these have been suggested already..

    Anyway, thanks a lot for such a fun game!

    Yup! Great job! I like this mod mostly for caves flooding and then trying to explore then while finding bubbles in the ceiling to breath from! For it to be really fun, the bug with the top 1/3 of flooded ocean water being empty/breathable needs to be fixed, soo I really can't wait till v3..

    Any chance you might release (or pm me) a version 2.5 that has this fix?

    Again, great job! Please keep it up!

    I know its a computer game and if your going to play it you needed money in the first place (so this is a bit silly of me) but..

    to say that someone who can't spending 13$, for entertainment, leads a sad life is just so unbelievably arrogant and could only be said by someone with as much privilege as ignorance... or maybe just innocence as maybe you've never learned better.

    I hope, for your own sake, that you get out from behind your computer screen and out of your house and go learn how the world works. :Sheep:

    btw.. Do you have an idea whether the graphical mods (like bl/bt, side grass and yours) could somehow be integrated into a modloader so folks wouldn't need to release multiple mods for each compatibility? I'm not sure what that might look like...

    Yup! Big bump. Very nice looking.

    I hope some folks start adding better armor and weapons to balance out all the new baddies were getting...
    Maybe even an exp system to add more health or better resilience? Anyone have ideas a about this?

    Anyways, the mummy is my favorite art wise. Good work!

    The cooking pot came out the best. Very cool 2 color shading.

    The harpoon and gun were very nice too. Also the backpack.

    Less so on the canteen, the top is a bit small and I should have specified leather.. I want more use for hunting.

    The fire bow 'drill' kit was a miss http://www.survival.org.au/fire_bowdrillkit.php. It's used to make fires.

    No need to redo, just pointing because you wanted constructive criticism. If your not sure what something looks like, be sure to find a picture on google first. All and all you are a fantastic pixel artist and I hope you can get on some pro indie game teams!

    I do program and understand java but I'm having a tuff time getting into it with all the ob****saction of code Notch does. When MCP is updated I'll have a much easier time. I will first be working on updating Marble Mod to use external pngs, then I'll be adding new plants and if I get that far I'll add survival tools, health conditions and needing to eat, drink and keep warm/cool.

    It would be neat to see a few new plants drawn up... A stinging nettle plant that's 2 blocks tall would be my first choice as it's good for rope / food and it self-propagates. Not to mention it would be funny when it stings you ;p

    Also, hemp is hugely useful for food, rope, oil, paper and many other things. It would grow to be up to 5 or 6 blocks tall!

    Fire-weed, is used as rope too and would be pretty red and 2-3 block tall.

    Willow (not the tree) shoots are good for healing and pain relief.

    It would be very challenging to differentiate between these with so few pixels... Up for the challenge?


    Anyway, just rambling.. Good work on the pics! Notch should hire you too! So fast you are.

    Yay for bored pixel artists! I suggest a boomerang, a spear, a crossbow, an alchemist/herbalist kit, a dagger, a machete, a fire bow kit, a cooking pot, a fish net, a harpoon (with rope), fat, a shell lamp, an oyster shell, muscles, a starfish, a canteen, a sling, a leather backpack, many different animal skins and many many new types of plants. If you like these suggestions I can keep going. I can also name many types of plants that could be very useful in a survival game and tell their uses. Any of this sound good?

    Aweeee sh*t! Thanks Master! That's great. I can't wait to give this a try in combo with BiomeTerrain. This should significantly reduce SMP chunk load time on what would have been 'new' areas, right? Esp with extreme settings.

    Thanks for the info guys! I'll give it a shot in beta ssp. I think I often like playing with the terrain settings more than playing the game.. :smile.gif:

    RiverC, is the tree fix you made necessary to avoid crashes in ssp? And if so, would you mind posting it here?

    ps. Crory and black screeners:
    The instructions are with the first post. You need to download the version that works with single player beta (if you are using beta) from Litghost's posts from a few days ago. Then open the minecraft.jar from your docs../user/appdata/.minecraft/bin folder with winzip or winrar. BTW, appdata is usually hidden (file->folder options->show hidden files) Then drag and drop the files from the mod into the minecraft.jar, delete the meta-ini folder and close the jar. Run minecraft and cross your fingers! Oh, and backup minecraft before doing anything.

    Mm, yeah. I see. If you override both the side dirt and side grass and the texture pack they are using looks fine with the side grass you picked, they wouldn't need to edit anything... But, yeah, I don't know if it's worth it just for that.

    I'm just getting stoked about learning this stuff. ;p The Marble mod is particularly in need of such a thing.. (It uses 3! 4X4 slots in the 256px terrain.png)

    Hey Altimor. Your doing great! Thanks for all the updates!

    Have you thought about using ModLoader's "addOverride" (??) function to put your new textures into a different file (other than terrain.png) ? Then your mod would work without having to edit the texture packs. There is an easy example of this in Emeralds Mod... I'm going to attempt this with Marble Mod as practice for my first mod. I'm sure you'll have little problem with it, as you seem to know quite well java dev.

    Don't hesitate to ask me anything. I follow this thread pretty often.

    I do hope I can play with only the Better Grass soon as the Better Light does slow down my system enough to kill immersion for me. I REALLY look forward to seeing this with WildGrass AND Biome Side Grass.... Mmmmmm.. Is sexy.
