Well, assuming the hostile mob isn't able to attack you while in the ship you could but a blaze in the back and use it as a turret to defend from enemy players. Also, I like how this both satisfies the need for a boat while not feeling like a mod. Assuming this would be used for long term boat trips. Insanity would be a pretty big problem. Perhaps, you could sleep in the boat but in my opinion that's a little too mod like. Another thing would be a musical instrument but that has the same problem.

Yeah, I considered that, but wouldn't there still be some entrances?

Besides, villagers are too smart to put down cave spider spawners in the middle of their mines or let Nitwits in.

About the spider spawners. They probally moved in after the villagers stopped mining. Also lets say that villagers stopped mining because zombies became a thing. They would most likely seal back up the mines to prevent the zombies from coming up. Explaining why you can't find an entrance.

Support I assume that the way planting swamp trees would work as follows. You plant a oak sapling in a swamp biome and it becomes a swamp tree. If you are talking about a new sapling disregard this comment.

A bow with poison arrows is very dangerous, as just one hit leads you to a one hit kill. And while a more advanced player should have no problem against a hermit, it might prove those in the early game quite the challenge, encouraging them not to go on a mass murder spree.

That being said, this suggestion is over half a year old and with Village and Pillage just around the corner I would argue this suggestion redundant and therefore must withdraw my support.

Sorry for kinda necroing this post. About the poison arrow, it's incredibly easy to dodge arrows shot from an A.I so it doesn't matter how strong they are. Plus it gives the player them once it's dead.

You are only allowed to present one idea in a post. I would reccomend going in the small suggestions thread to show these. I agree with 3, 4 and 5 though.

You know what? I like this. It's balanced, useful, and cool. Support.

•If a hermit has both (25%) they get a diamond sword and bow with poison arrows. They occasionally have diamond armor. Chests do not change they are balanced as is.

This is the only part I disagree with. As stated above the hermit will drop their entire inventory. It doesn't matter if the hermit has a diamond sword, it just matters how well the player knows the A.I or how good the player is at dodging. The A.I is already going to be very complicated so adding advanced combat would be too complicated. Besides, even if they add it in if the player knows the A.I well enough they will be able to overpower it.

posted a message on How big is The End?

So I did it this is what happened. I built a portal at the nether border went through it and it spawned just barely inside the world border. I built another portal at the world border and went through it, it spawned really really far away from the nether border. I tried going through the first portal again brought me to the 3rd portal. I went through the 3rd portal again and ended up at the 4th portal. I went through the 4th portal again and it brought me to the 2nd portal. Short Version: If you build the nether portal first it will act like the nether is 1:1 to the overworld, if you build the overworld portal first it will act like 1:8 and teleport you far away from the nether border.

Fun Fact: The nether border is red instead of blue.

posted a message on Add Natural Gas to the game

With the comment above, I agree that gases would be cool but what would they add to the game? The only thing I can think of is using nitrogen to freeze stuff or helium to make stuff float, but that would be too complicated. Besides what would we use those features for?

The part about diorite that is insignificant isn't that it would be only an aesthetic block, but the fact that diorite itself is a insignificant block. If it doen't please you aesthetically, then don't use it. Making diorite aesthetically useful would be too much work for one block that can be completely avoided.

5: But is it useful for the cost when you could simply mine a block and take a peak.

Where are you mining? Are you mining like 5 blocks below the surface? Once you are able to craft the clock you will most likely be only be mining diamonds. If you are that deep you can't just mine a block. Now you could just look up the hole you made to see the sun, but that would only work if you made a ladder or water elevator. Ladders are slow and water is hard to see through. Also, it still takes a little time to get to it. Especially if you are caving or have been strip mining for a while. Sorry if I was a little aggressive at the start. Also cauldrons making potions would make sense, but I don't support the idea because it seems too early game.

I really like the idea of the dungeon and I think it would be really fun, but it doesn't feel quite right. I don't like the idea of structures that have unbreakable blocks. They just feel too forced.

posted a message on Rope armor: an attempt to make "bad-quality armour more part of early gameplay"

As in prevents knockback and concussions from metal on skin?

Ok, so you know what a newton's cradle is right? Well, what they prove is, kinetic energy (Momentum) transfers through solid objects. So if you have armor made out of solid material and something hits you the momentum from the blow will transfer through the armor, and hit you. Now the iron armor most likely has irregularities that blunt the damage, plus it prevents cutting damage. This is why it still deals less damage than with no armor. Chainmail armor is not solid so the kinetic energy will disperse and do less damage. Diamonds cannot be melted or anything so the way players most likely create diamond gear the way we do in real life, grinding them down then reattaching them. This causes many irregularities plus its stronger than other materials which is why it's still the best armor.
