Now now, calm down. This is just a game, and all we're suggesting is burning bound paper while we have no ink.

Books capable of burning would be nice, though they would be fairly useless given that coal, sticks and wood are significantly easier to obtain and burn longer.

    Wood, uses:
    -Sticks
    -Weapons
    -Tools
    -Ladders
    -Craft tables
    -Building material
    -Arrows
    -Bows
    -Torches
    -Chests
    -Tracks

    Reed, uses:
    -Decoration

    Get Functional Books mod

Yes, because after all if we ever want something useful we must not suggest to notch, but instead get a mod.

You didn't even post a link.

Tasteless, but at least it expands your options.

Not tasteless unless we could actually write in them.

Why not? TF2 Has API, Scripting, and Map editor. Minecraft can have easy way to mod too!

For once this answer doesn't seem stupid: the game is in alpha.

    Besides, support comes in beta.

Books. We can't write in them. We probably will eventually be able to. So, how about a simpler use, at least for now?

    BURNING BOOKS.

That's right, your reed farm is now useful when creating massive smoothstone structures.

Every book would burn at a stick or less's strength.

    Any problems with this?

    Yeah, something.

Thing is, what else would we have. Stealth material that completely hides names and sounds? Armor that makes you invisible?

posted a message on Character hood
Just thought it could be interesting for characters to have hoods.

    IT'S A HOOD!
    :chestfront: :chestfront: :chestfront:
    :chestfront: :chestfront: []
    :chestfront: :chestfront: :chestfront:

Chest is material used. Currently, usable materials are:
-cloth (maybe also dying the cloth when that's added, colorful hoods!)
    -leather

The hood provides no protection, and does not have much use in singleplayer apart from aesthetics. However, in multiplayer, wearing a hood would make your name harder to see, combining this with sneaking, and your name is barely visible in plain sight! Or maybe you just can't see the name at all. That way, wearing a hood could mean you could pretend to be somebody else (copy skin)! The possibilities are limited!

Side note: lighting cow on fire = explosion please :Notch:

Ok, gee, people on this forum really get too angry!

This is because you've done almost everything wrong...
    1. There is another thread about this in the FIRST page.
    2. You've posted multiple times instead of editing your post.
    3. Your writing is confusing.
    4. Your idea isn't explained very much, basically you just said sharks, drop bones for between stone and iron tools, and whales.

posted a message on ToastTowns- [Public][Finally updated!][Town vs Town PvP]
    Quote from Trideer »
I apolygize in forehand if someone have posted something about this already, im in a bit of a hurry. im about to leave to the local pub with a few friends.

As we all know, we have a big problem on our hands with duping, hacking or whatever you want to call it on the server.
Mods are obviously needed to enforce the "law" of the server, to make sure people dont break the rules.
I have my own suggestions to what should be done, feel free to discuss this. but do not hate on me.

when i first joined this server, mods were teleporting to me every 15-30 minutes checking my inventory if i was duping or whatever, I understand this, but its a bit too much, dont you think?
It all got a bit better when Toast removed teleport from the mods, things got a little bit calmer.
But there were still something wrong. I think that it was the mods making some not so thought through descissions, and perhaps even acting a little bit immature (im not accusing anyone).
So here are my suggestions of what mods should be able to do, since we so obviosuly need them with the current bugs in the game:

    * Age limit (18+ perhaps?)
    * Voice interviews
    * No teleport
    * not being able to permaban (in case of corrupt mods) *if possible*
    * actively focus on helping other players with Questions, etc.
    * 5-10 American and European Mods.

Feel free to add your own suggestions to this.

I hope i have not offended anyone with this. but these are just my thoughts about this.
And please excuse my sometimes poor english. Im a bit dyslectic.

    Why do we need this?

I say a mod should be somebody most regulars know, is responsible and nice, and does not break rules. Who cares about age etc.
