Yes, a flash drive should work. All you'll need to do is copy the server folder (the one that has minecraft_server.jar) from your dad's computer to the flash drive. Then paste that folder to your desktop. You will have to redo your port forwarding though as the desktop will have a different local IP address
Thank you so much I didn't think I'd get help from The forum admin XD
I made a server on my dads MacBook. the problem is he takes it to work so when he is gone I can't start or play on my server with my friends! I need to put it on the desktop Mac how do I do that? I've asked this question before and someone said to use an external hard drive. Would a large capacity flashdrive work?
This is something I rarely want to do. You know, close Minecraft XD but I need to and I can't. When I push exit it won't do anything and I can't turn the computer off cause it says I need to close minecraft first. I let it run out of battery power and then it just brings minecraft back up and still can't close it!
I've seen on some other servers where there's like this currency thing. Is it a mod? Plugin? Where do I get it? How do I use it? Sorry to ask so many questions but I want to improve my server
So just put the server properties and other stuff on the hard drive then download them onto the other computer? Will their need to be any changes made or is it ready to go then?
I made a server on my dads MacBook and I need to know how to transfer the whole thing over to a desktop Mac because my dad takes his MacBook with him to work. So when he is at work I can't start the server up cause its with him! How do I get the same server onto the other computer?
