your base should be close. this bug always sets the new portal close to the old one.

Is there any direction which it tends to move to? I'm in a cave and I'm at rock bottom (my base is at rock bottom) so it might take a while lol...

Everyone has this problem it seems, but i don't :3

    Don't tempt fate :tongue.gif:.

That's dissapointing then if it's a bug. I have no idea where I am now. I'm going to have to kill myself and lose all my items to get back to my spawn where my base is :sad.gif:

I went into nether using a portal and wandered around exploring. Maybe 10 minutes later I went back to the same portal and went in but I was teleported somewhere random, trapped in a cave? How? I thought that the portals transport you back where you came from but it didn't happen this time...?

    Thanks for any help!

posted a message on Pigmen on the main surface?
    Hi,

we all know that pigmen are there in Nether, but I'm wondering whether there are or any plans for there to be pigmen villages in the normal world on a surface? That would be awesome, you find a rainforest and in it are some huts with pigmen? Or is that kinda in the game already but I've not found them?

Thanks for any replies. :stone: :Notch: :Notch: :Notch: :Notch: :Notch: :Notch:

posted a message on Do you lag while playing minecraft? (Post Comp Specs)
    Ram: 2GB
    System type: Windows 7 64bit
    Processor: Intel core i5 2.26Ghz
Graphics card: ATI HD 5450 512MB
Do you ever lag? Never. It's funny how people with much better specs than me are lagging when my game runs extremely smoothly. After the Halloween update there is a slight lag when loading the Nether, but that I think is normal. I'm running all on max distance and fancy graphics btw.

The deeper you are the more picky the spawning system is about light levels, simple solution add more light and fight through it, torches (witch are still in atm and will become laterns once laterns are added) work just fine for doing this. Or you can use alertnative lighting methods. So it's really not the spawn rate it's the light level and depth.

How much light do you need exactly, unknow something to research and find out. But if you want to ragequit, hey it's your choice play what you like not everyone likes every update, but I think the biggest problem with people getting upset and up and quiting is lack of information or mis-understaning information. If you get all the info and you just don't like it and don't want to play anymore, hey thats your choice and nothing I say here or anyone else will change it, so have fun in other games, and if you just came here to vent/spout your opinion thats fine, in that case my post is more for about others with the lack of info and not meant to try to change you mind if it's already made up.

Lengthy and probley a bit over-done but cosnidering hwo thigns can be on these fourms, thought it was needed. Take care.

Thanks for your understanding. The forums here seem much nicer than the other one's I've been in. I didn't mean to rage that hard, I was getting quite annoying. Yeah, I'll turn down the setting to Peaceful until I feel like getting the mobs back. I'll definitely continue playing this game.

Hopefully Notch might make the mobs a bit more sensitive to light, but for now Peaceful sounds okay.

It's just a balance issue. There's always a balance problem after you change the way any game works. No big deal.

I understand that but I thought Notch has been working hard on this and would have discovered this. i would think it wouldn't be too hard to change the code for mob spawns.

And I think it is a big deal because now the game's almost unplayable at night :\

And only because of one reason....Mobs.

There are WAAAAY to many spawns now. WAY too many.

Before the update I was all the way underground and had my little underground house/ base station and from where I would branch out and mine. I had minecart tracks all over the place and in short, it was very nice. It was my underground home and that's where I stayed most of the time.

    And then the update happened.

Yes, nether and fishing are cool, blah blah blah, but Notch has ruined it by adding SO MANY more spawns to the game. Now, every 1 minutes, those creepers and zombies and all spawn near me and attack me. I'm just minding my own business making redstone circuits and they kill me from behind. It's starting to pi$$ me off now. I want to mine and play the game but what's the fun when you get ninja'd or mobbed by so many creatures all the time? The concept was good...as you go deeper the more torches you need to keep the mobs away, but Notch has somehow messed it up by making the Mobs too immune to the light.

The sounds are great, I love it, and it's damn creepy hearing those creepers, but the frequency at which they attack me and kill me has ruined the game.
