All the creator did was make a floating chunk of land, worldedit the surrounding ~500 chunks out, planted a tree, and gave you a chest.
The idea is very simple, but he's the first to do it, and look how many copies there are of it. You can't argue that it's a successful idea, even if you don't like the map yourself.
Make a grassy fenced in area that you can easily stay 24+ blocks away from, and they'll eventually spawn if you're lucky. Don't count on it though, it's completely random and you may not even get them to spawn at all.
The ocelots' AI needs to be seriously tweaked. I found a group of them and all the do is spin around and attack chickens when they get close enough to them.
Heh, I just built a similar trap, automated with redstone/pistons.
It's connected to a zombie dungeon with a 20 block drop so I can kill them and collect xp. The top portion of the drop has a piston to prevent them falling if I want, and the bottom has a piston covering a pool of lava so I can get rid of the zombie flesh after I'm done killing (or just watch them burn in the lava. :biggrin.gif:)
Everywhere I've read says that Fortune enchantment needs 20 XP to have the possibility of showing up, but to get Efficiency 3 and Fortune 2 by spending just 13 levels of XP, this is weird (definitely not complaining though, since this is my first legit playing of Minecraft, and I turned 25 Diamond Ore into 47 Diamonds. :biggrin.gif:)
Is this a bug or is the wiki wrong? (I'm on 1.1 btw, only mod installed is the most recent version of optifine.)
On the new (1.1) version, I have one minor bug to report (if it can be considered a bug)
When swamp colors are turned off, the particles that appear when you break a leaf block are still dark like the normal swamp color.
Thanks for adding that feature by the way! It seems to actually improve performance a little bit, and it looks a lot better.
ok so let me ask,HOW DO YOU ****ING LIGHT THE PORTAL WITH NO FLINT AND STEEL OR FIRE!!!!! :angry.gif: :angry.gif: :angry.gif: :angry.gif: :angry.gif: :angry.gif: :angry.gif: :angry.gif: :angry.gif:
I was going to say that this should be put in the op, but the people that ask stupid questions obviously don't read the op, otherwise they wouldn't be asking stupid questions. :/
Also, I've only seen one ghast, so I'm pretty sure it's normal for them to be rare. Try exiting and re-entering the nether until you hear one, since I don't think they spawn while you're in the nether (I could be wrong though.)
"Btw, how did you get pigs and the sheep?"
I just stepped away from the grass area (you have to be at least 24 blocks away) and they eventually spawned, though it took a long time.
Also, first view of land (750-ish blocks away from skyblock.)
I SEE DIAMONDS! (loving the Zoom feature in the optifine mod.)
Also, here's the chest full of challenge items (since it didn't show up in my other post)

Grass plus patience.

That's what happens when you play in creative mode.

This is already the case; there are two slime spawning chunks adjacent to the skyblock spawn point.

Just an fyi, if you don't want to waste wood, use two planks for every 3 logs in the furnace.
