Downloaded the game..... played all day.... now the game crashes.
I fell I've been ripped off.
Fraud protection has been initiated on my credit card.
Oh, and thanks for the Trojan Downloader
Ummm nice try troll.
This game is not a Trojan.. more then likely your computer skills are comparable to that of a 5yo, or me thinks you go on to many porn sites. Either way, that attitude isn't welcome here, so have fun with that claim.
P.S. Try to learn how to operate a computer better.
Is it just me or is loading performance down in the new beta patch. Frame-rate is up, but i'm noticing some extra lag on in-game chunk generation. For instance I will have 215FPS while in one spot, and th game will lag for a 2nd and my FPS will practically be cut in half, and go back up a few seconds later.
I'm guessing that the server is failing due to the ancient processor in the computer... not even sure if the old K6 can run the server but thought i'd give it a shot... just wondering anyone elses input.

"Rewrote Leaf Decay for the seventeenth time, and as a result..
* .. fixed HUGE fps drops in single player"
I was happy when I saw this because I was getting around 3 fps with the new beta but then I got on and played for a while and now only maintain 5-7 fps. The update or whatever did nothing for my fps drop. Wondering if anyone else is getting this after the update?
Not so far... when beta first came out I was averaging about 3FPS, now since the 2nd update i'm back up to averaging 250FPS, still not as good as alpha, but a hell of a lot better then 3.
So i'm not sure what the problem could be, double check to make sure client updated? Maybe backup your worlds and reinstall the client.
Hmm for some reason my fences are invisible... not a huge problem, lol but it be nice if i could see them rather then remembering they are there when i hit an invisible wall, lol.
I have a geforce 7900gs overclocked to hell.
An E6400 overclocked and stable 2.25 Ghz per core
2gb DDR2
This game is so laggy it's unplayable.
Seriously, what the ****? Setting java to high priority does nothing. I'm playing DEFAULT textures and it's at about 100fps and drops constantly to like 2 and lags to hell. I've walked around for about 10 minutes, conditions do not improve.
Help me please. Do I need a 6 core processor and a 20gig ****ing graphics card to play a game with bad graphics? This is insane...
Umm b4 u rant you might want to update your client to the newest version.. that fixed the leaf decay lag.. other then that I think its you. I have 4GB DDR2 with a 9800GTX and a e5300 2.6 dualcore.. running at 250 stable FPS...
Like the title says, when I download the new update client it says it is an unknown file type (later identified as an MIME, which im not familiar with).
Does anyone know how to fix this? I tried to run the server from the jar file but I cant get it to work, so this is my only option. I do not know if this is a common problem or not. There didnt seem to be any posts about it. Any help is appreciated!
thanks!
(PS, using Win. 7 64 bit if that matters)
The other file that comes with the new beta is a batch file for command line... although for some reason its not working anyhow...
The variable exists, these are the line of code in the batch, as per what notch wrote it as.
@echo off
java -Xms512M -Xmx512M -cp minecraft-server.jar com.mojang.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer
pause
I've worked with DOS long enough to know how a batch works... the full path is not necessary if the "jar" file is in the same directory.. unless we went back a step since oh, say... DOS 4.
Command Prompt simply refuses to except java as a command, and just stops dead write there.. with:
'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
seems like lots of people (including myself) are having similar problems. from what i've been reading it has something to do with leaf decay and Notch is working on a fix, so i guess all we can do is just hang in there.
Yeah the new update, beta 1.0.2 seems to be running much better then the release yesterday.. framerates still aren't up to what they where in Alpha, atm I am getting 30-40 steady, which is better then the 3-4 I was getting yesterday, but still low considering I was at 200-300 in alpha...
Last night everything was fine, this morning Minecraft is choppy. Running e7700 and 9800M, Vista. Seriously, What's up?
Same problem... I get 400FPS in my caves.. soon as I go outside I get 1.-2.. maybe 3 if i'm real lucky...
i mean i can run crysis on max setting with average 65fps.. so this doom like block block world should not.. EVER get 3FPS... lol
On Edit: Alpha ran fine... Beta is having some Minor problems... lol

I'm running windows 7 x64, but apparently command prompt doesn't recognize "java" as an appropriate command.

"'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command,

I'm running win7 with the necessary java runtime files, so am i doing something wrong of was the batch file compiled with the wrong commands?

The zip file is the source code only, not the update.. the beta update doesn't look like its posted yet.
