A lot of the mods I use are for 1.6.2; but they work perfectly fine.

It mainly depends on what the mod modifies, if it doesn't modify something changed it should be fine, from what I know.

    Thanks!
I was thinking something along the lines of that at one stage, but I'm not sure how I would work it.
I wanted to actually make a sort of system where you could lock yourself in a room, and fill it with vapour or smoke to give you the effect as long as you stayed in the room. That would be quite difficult to code though.

Before I add anything else I just want to clean up the mod.
I don't like the state its in at the moment. It seems like its been hacked together and doesn't feel vanilla-ish, which is the way I like all my mods to feel!

Thats true, but the reason there are a limited number of 1.7 mods yet, is because of the massive code change mojang did.
It has taken ages for MCP and Forge to catch up.
I think they are almost ready though.
As soon as they are ready everyone will hopefully be updating to 1.7.

Wouldn't creating an animated fog block place on the player, say when he holds shift+left click smoking, and that fog stays for about 15 seconds, if he smokes again, it builds one ontop of or next to that block, if there is a fog block next to the original then the original is not deleted and the countdown starts on the new one, if the fog block is against another block then it looks up and down, if all blocks are now fog or another block other then air, it removes counters from blocks. Though it would also have to detect whether a door is open or not, say you opened the door, the 2 blocks of fog against that door now start their countdown, if not closed within that time, the room will start to dissapate. Difficult yes, but the idea is great. Thanks for reading.

I'm sure a lot of kids have a problem waiting, but you shouldn't worry about that. Your mod is a great mod, one of the few that's kept decent for soon long, you update at your own pace, don't let them try to push you around. Btw another idea possibly, Vaping? you could go through the procedures of getting the juices from tobacco and weed(terminology escapes me atm) then using a redstone crafted pipe vape them, it should last longer than any other normal form of smoking, but take a lot more to craft/equip.

Hey this seems like a great mod...will it be updated for 1.7.2 once MCP and MC forge is released?

His plan is that he isn't releasing for 1.6.4 due to village recoding, but once forge is for 1.7.2 I do believe he plans to release for that, or 1.7.4.

How long have you been playing minecraft for? 1.5_01 Beta

Why do you want to join the server? I've enjoyed your mod for a while now, as well as I am looking for a McMp server to play on when I'm in the mood, and I don't need some child hosted/griefed up server that just hands out crap, so I'd like to give it a try here.

A screenshot of your best build: Hard to choose... I'd say this is my best project, which I'll be reviving soon: http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/minecraft-warrior-retirement/
but here's my whole profile of builds: http://www.planetminecraft.com/member/justin55555/

Any addition information: Looking forward to seeing your future mod updates, seems there aren't many now days that have the work put in them that you do. (Also I can't currently connect to your server so I'm guessing it's on a reset.)

You know how to update the village structures?
Ive got the rest updated, it just crashes when generating a herblore village component.

Hopefully he wasn't bsing and actually knows how, so we can enjoy our favorite mod again.

Wow, why the tone? EmptyCans made a great mod, but he does not have to update it and does not have to give away the source. Mods are made for fun. And modders have their lives to live, too. If you really miss the mod but cannot wait, just downgrade your minecraft. I still have my 1.2.5 world saved and I play there occasionally, going around, smoking my pipe.

I get that he doesn't HAVE to update, but it's just that he's saying he will and is trying to update it. And that he hasn't been online for quite a while. But anyways, there are other mods out there to keep us entertained while we wait to see if he'll come back.

fix the options configuration. If i tell it not to spawn golems or orgres, I expect that they don't spawn, not that I come back to find half my farm dead and my house torn apart...

are you talking about the herblore mod?

There's multiple smoking mods, a neat water pipe mod, which I enjoy with its many recipes like this mod has. There's Herblore, which has a few neat effects, but single smoke, and only when hungry, as well as a weird green effect for weed, I've tried it before it's still pretty good. There's also Psychedelic craft, which has nearly everything the same as herblore, no idea which came first, but Psychedelic seems to have much better shader effects, though still single use, and it requires modloader so it's not as compatible as Herblore. altogether I'd rather have water pipes and this mod.

ya probably just having some real life problems. Also i believe the fact that you cab use the things more than once is really the part of this mod that makes it awesome and sets it appart from other mods like it.

Ye, cause I want to be able to sit there puffing repeatedly for an aesthetics effect, not take 1 hit and it's gone, and receive some spammed annoying screen effect, like 1 other mod does. Though a few are ok.

I'm guessing some real life issues came up again, because his account says he hasn't been on for 10 days. The main reason I prefer this mod to the other 2 smoking mods, is because this allows multiple uses on 1 piece, instead of instant used up.

Now if it added a bit like Mo Creatures, where you could see some fish swimming around, and technically get those. But still get a chance of getting better fish you don't see. Maybe also add a spear, so it's cheaper and slower than a harpoon, but probably more fun if the fish are visible.

3 days since the last spam was posted? guess they're finally giving up. Anyways, I have to imagine that one of the problems is not only adding more content, but keeping up with minecrafts constant updates, though its been a few weeks between the last update, and the one that recently came out, but there's no major release yet atleast.

I won't spoil what comes in the new weekly update, but visit mojang.com if you wish to get the latest. It's awesome.

One suggestion, though I doubt it's possible, would be a mob chooser tab. You click it, like favorites or enchantments, select which mob you want, and if it's cat, or horse, you can pick which skin it has, and for all, whether they're young or grown, then hit spawn and it spawns.
