Hello everyone! Minecraft with the Peeps will be resetting our world on Friday, November 13, but before we close our existing world down, we're throwing one last community event and we're inviting YOU to join us!
Tomorrow, Saturday November 7 at 1PM GMT (1300) we will be hosting our first annual DEATH AWAITS PvP Challenge!
Gameplay
Players will be competing in THREE categories
- Most Kills
- Most Player Heads (by the end of the game)
- Least Deaths
The game will go on for TWO hours.
Players will begin the game by first removing ALL items from inventory. No starting armor, weapons, tools, supplies will be permitted. You have to gather EVERYTHING from the island itself. Once the game has started, Players will DESCEND into the island.
Sleeping will be permitted, assuming you can find a bed. There will be one bed provided for respawning at the starting area. Admins will enforce a "no spawn camping" rule.
Players can respawn and rejoin as often as they would like.
Alliances and cooperation of any kind are prohibited. This is a DEATHMATCH.
Players must remain on the island. Swimming around the island is permitted, but do not venture to any of the bordering islands.
At the end of the game, the Admins will evaluate how many kills and deaths a player has by examining the server logs. The player in possession of the most skulls (Player heads) at the end of the duration of the game will win, regardless of how they were obtained.
Mining and altering the landscape is permitted, but senseless griefing of the Church will result in the WRATH OF THE ADMINS.
Think of this game as a great way to meet our staff and player base ahead of our world reset!

Ehh maybe. Not much of a medieval historian, but Base83 is probably more accurate for trying to put it on a mountain. Easier to defend the high ground- just ask Darth Vader
I usually end up having a stack of pumpkin pie on on me. On our server most people sell golden carrots pretty cheap, but I rarely have the diamonds for them
To me, any big build should have a natural contrast with the surrounding environment. Big stone block castle set against gravel mountains? That's a lot of gray. I have a feeling that even if you build it to perfection, it won't have the kind of look that you want.
Consider maybe a different biome with less inherent grays in the landscape.
As far as being on a mountain for logistics, I have a feeling your storage system will be in the basement (or dungeon perhaps). You could have special hidden entrances to get inside the base of it there. Maybe even a boat path on a natural stream?

One of the best reasons to build a Wither farm. A few of the guys on my server built one that really takes a lot of the danger out of it.

Are you going to have villagers inside of the walls of the castle? That might be a great springboard for hut / houses / shops inside the castle walls.
Also, I've never been able to design an above ground storage system that I thought looked well or was functional enough for bulk storage.
