I went outside once and people were doing things that offended and assaulted my very sensibilities. I hate outside now, and I'm never going back, in fact, I'm going to make a thread about why I hate it. I heard recently there are even parts of it that have bloodshed, pain, and violence! All the more reason to hate it and everything else out there. I'm going to run my life, what I do, and where I get information around other people, and trivialities that I should learn how to counterbalance, change, ignore, or accept.[/sarcasm]
Avoidance has its place. It falls to you to think whether your reasons make sense, what they mean, and what they do in the greater whole... but judging by the fact that you made a topic about it, you probably haven't yet. Sounds like you just need to figure it out.

So, I was flying around in Creative, working on my creative world, when I saw the mob heads in the inventory. As I gazed out of the window of my Creative castle, I saw where I fought the Wither, and it hit me; Different types of withers, depending on what mob head is placed on the middle "neck" of the soul sand "T". But as I pondered the idea of zombie headed or creeper headed Withers, I thought, "Well, that kinda takes away the personality of summoning withers... So, I came up with the Altropy, (fancy word for decay, or wither).
The Altropy
The Altropy is very similar to the End; a floating island with the boss flying about. The boss, of course, is the man of honor, the Wither. The differences between The Altropy and the End (besides he blocks that make it) is that there are no obsidian towers and that there are smaller floating islands scattered about in the air around the main island. The world is made up only of a block called Soul Brick, which is a cross between between soul sand and bricks. The only way to obtain soul brick is to go to the Altropy. Some islands and chunks of the main island would have a special soul brick that is affected by gravity. This means that during the Wither fight, parts of islands can collapse into the void.
"What will this Wither in the Altropy drop thats so special, besides the escape portal?"
Well, I'm glad you asked, it would drop a metric ton of XP, enough for... 125 levels? I believe the dragon drops 115 levels. Anyway, on top of the escape portal, it would drop a "Large Withered Head", which would be like the trophy of the Altropy (similar to the Dragon Egg). Not much, but hey, the reward from the dragon is a bit lacking too.
"How do I get to the Altropy? Do just make the portal?"
No, you'll have to find the portal in the Nether.
"The Nether? Why there?"
Well, you get the wither skeletons and their skulls in the Nether, so the portals too would be in the Nether.
"In the Nether Fortresses then, right?"
Nope, the portals would have their own dungeon, similar to a stronghold in the overworld. But instead of being massive super structures underground, they are simple small multi-level towers in the middle of lava oceans. There would be five per world, similar to the strongholds spawn rate of three.
"Ok, ok, so new stronghold, with new dimension, and a new Wither? What the heck would be the purpose of the Withers we can summon?"
As I mentioned earlier, there would be different variants, each with different mod heads (so instead of just wither skulls, zombie heads, creeper heads, and skulls. Maybe player heads, but that'll get too weird really fast, maybe a Steve Wither). These guys would still go dropping nether stars and such, the only difference is that they would be a bit weaker, so not so spammy, and a little slower. The Altropy Wither would be bigger than the "mini-withers" and could inflict a "Wither III" effect.
"Wither 3? That would kill people instantly!"
Its not that powerful. Yes, the mini-withers' Wither II would be the same with the vampyrism, but the draining would be slower, but last longer. The Wither III would last A LOT longer, and heal the Wither more.
"Wait, what would these Withers do? Anything special?"
Well, at first, I was like "Nah, I just want decor", but then the community was like "They should do something special!" So, Mini-Withers now have special abilities!
Zombie Wither:
These are made using a zombie head and two wither skeleton heads on a "T" of soul sand. These guys function similarly to our Withers, except they have increased direct damage to the player.
Skeleton Wither:
These are made using a skeleton head and two wither skeleton heads on a "T" of soul sand. These guys function similarly to our Withers, except they have increased ranged damage to the player.
Creeper Wither:
These are made using a creeper head and two wither skeleton heads on a "T" of soul sand. These guys function similarly to our Withers, except they have increased blast damage to the player.
"Oh ok, but one thing... How do we activate the portal to get to the Altropy?"
Ah yes, activating the portal, more importantly, finding the bastion that holds the portal. You would have to use a little item called a "Soul". These souls are dropped by creatures called Soul Snatchers.
"Soul Snatchers? Haven't I seen that name on the suggestions forums before?"
Most likely, it was a mob suggested by Mr Dirtminer6. It also inspired me to post this Altropy suggestion. He deleted his post I believe, but I still give him credit.
Soul Snatcher
So, the soul snatchers have the same spawn rate as endermen, and spawn in both the overworld, the Nether, and the Altropy. They are neutral in both dimensions. When they kill you, they take all the gear you had on you, and store it into an "inventory", and the items can only be recovered by killing another Soul Snatcher (the mechanic is similar to that of an Enderchest). These guys attack by basic "melee combat" (running at you), they shoot small energy balls at you (three at a time), and occasionally wield iron swords. The Soul Snatchers drops the items known as "Souls".
Enderdust
Another update! This time, brought by Mr Wizardbuddy2. This now is Enderdust. Enderdust is made from an enderpearl, and turning it into dust. This would be combined with the souls that Soul Snatchers drop, creating a Withered Soul. This withered soul would be used to find the bastions similar to an Eye of Ender to a stronghold.
Soul Chest
So, I was thinking how similar the withered soul was to eyes of ender, and thought of another idea: The Soul Chest. This is a chest that allows you to get items taken by Soul Snatchers, and extract them out of the chest. You can only withdraw the items however, no depositing (no second enderchest for you!). These would be crafted using a withered soul and soul brick, in the same fashion as an enderchest.
Soul Gems
So, now I have thought of the idea of soul gems. Well I didn't think of it, Mr FutureNyanCat did, but you get the point. Soul gems are found in the nether, like nether quartz. They are, however, very rare (think emerald rarity). Soul gems are also rarely dropped by Soul Snatchers. Soul gems are used in making the Withered Soul Sword, as well as using it for brewing. It can be brewed with a mundane potion to create a blindness potion. It can be brewed with an awkward potion to make nausea potion.
Okay... So I just killed the Altropy Wither... Aaaand I want to show my friends what I've done! Are there any other special rewards?
Well... Yes. But it won't be easy. You would need three giant wither heads, a diamond sword, a beacon, and four soul gems. in a crafting table. The reward would be a "Withered Soul Sword".
Wait... Three heads? But there's only one Altropy Wither...
Unless you resurrect it! I will be posting pictures of it soon, but resurrection of the Altropy Wither would be like using the Nether Core in Minecraft PE. But expect pictures soon.
Tell me about that Withered Soul Sword... It sounds... Useful... For PvP...
Hold your horses! This is not some OP man slaughtering device! The WSS is a sword with unlimited durability, but is the missing strength gap between iron and diamond (I dont know the stats, help here would be nice). It also inflicts Wither I as a little added bonus. There will be a poll over what should be done about this...
Will the Enderdragon get something like this then?
It will, but I'll go into that at a later date. Right now, Wither time!
Pictures
Next up, some reference pictures. Please note, they look like they were drawn by a 4th grader because I have no access to cool drawing programs, so I used dA Muro. I also had to use my laptop trackpad to draw out the pictures. Anyway, enjoy.
The top is for the End, the bottom is for the Altropy.
This is a comparison picture to show similarities between Overworld and Nether Strongholds. The little Parthenon temple was the original idea I had for the Nether Stronghold, but I changed it to a small tower.
The concept art of the Soul Snatchers. It is based off of Dirtminer6's description of it.
Some In-Game Pictures; Note the lack of standard Quartz blocks, so these wont be quartz farms.
Well, this is the end of the suggestion. Now, normally if I have a suggestion that gets hated upon, I let it sink to the bottom, but this suggestion, I want to improve it as much as possible, so I want LOTS of feedback from the MC community. I'm hoping to have an elaborate thing to post over in the Mod Ideas suggestion, to test the waters of the idea in-game (I also have no coding skills whatsoever). But, please, do give feedback, your ideas, questions, concerns, answers, etc.
