OK. You know, it's not like selling Minecraft to Microsoft was his only option if he wanted out. Just the option that let him dump the mess he made into someone else's lap and go buy a $70m pimped-out L.A. mansion. Because owning a $70m pimped-out mansion isn't much of a hassle at all!
Puh-leeze. He got his money and his freedom. If he made the right choice for himself, he can go off and live happily ever after and leave the Minecraft community alone, instead trying to milk it for attention and approval like this. It's actually pretty sad at this point.

Dull, shallow personality, can't stop talking yet has very little to say, that face cam + sub sign that takes up a THIRD of the screen, and the vid is about lag. If this vid showed a hint of self-awareness of how bad it is, it might be a pretty smart parody of everything that is sucky and mediocre about the whole Minecraft You Tube culture.Posted in: News

Jul 15, 2014josseriot posted a message on UPDATE! Pocket Edition: 0.9.3 Submitted, FixesWell, I just discovered the purple grass bug in my world, after hours and hours of looking for cactus and gazillion of crashes (and a least two legit pink sheep sightings). And right after finding the purple grass, at loooooooooooooooong last I found a desert.....and as I was skipping about gleefully collecting cactus, I got ambushed by SIX skeletons sniping at me from a dungeon that was near the desert surface. And I was in Peaceful mode. I had to kill them with a nearly broken axe.Posted in: News
So no word on if and when they'll fix this problem with hostile mobs spawning in peaceful mode (or not despawning when you switch from regular to peaceful)?
Or about this issue with infinite world generating biomes in highly repetative patterns so you have to search for hours to find different biomes like I had to for a desert biome?
Because I find both those far more frustrating than purple and silver grass. I even rather like the prurple sugarcane myself, much more so than sketelons spawning in Peaceful mode. -

In the village I'm at I found 5 ink sacs in the blacksmiith's chest. This seems to be the only way they made it possible to make black dye in 0.9.0 in survival.
I suppose it's better than nothing. -

Oh and also If you have these problems please tell me!
Yes, I'm having problems with bad lag, freezing and fast battery drain on my Kindle too (I haven't tried multiplayer so I don't know about that). I don't know what they could/would do about it. They didn't really design this update for Kindle--Kindle wasn't really designed for mobile gaming and so our version is kind of an afterthought. So I suspect if anyone at Mojang had any suggestions it'd be "get an iPad". :\ -

I understand. I watch a lot of LPs of people playing modded Minecraft so that's often how I know what many mods actually do. And even then I still watch a few tutorials that go more in-depth--you have to be a special kind of person to sit through hours of mod tutorials, especially the really tech-y ones. I love the tech mods but even my eyes cross when a tutorial drags on about how much energy is transferred in such-and-such cable compared to this other cable and stuff like that. LOL.
The first modpack I ever did was a pretty lightweight one compared to what I do now--it was the Life in the Woods pack for 1.6. and it was a pack mostly for farming, building and exploring. And truth is, this big "kitchen sink" modpacks are fun, but there are often mods I never touch because I don't get around to them or I don't know how to use them for my projects. Sometimes I just have to focus on a modpack, explore it and see what I can do with it. Like with Immersive Engineering--I've probably played 4 other packs with it, but never got around to the majority of the mod. So in this world, that's one of my projects--built everything in IE and see what I can do with it.

Long time, no post. I started a new world with my customized version of Resonant Rise 3 with some changes from how I customized it in the past. I added back some of the mods they took out, like Hunger Overhaul and Malisis Doors, and nixed everything magic except for Botania. I added Underground Biomes Constructs and Equivalent Exchange 3, bit the latter seems really buggy so it may get removed.
The problem that made me add EE3 in the first place with Biomes o Plenty seeds, I cannot get emerald ore to spawn, either in the overworld or the Aroma mining world. I also installed RFTools so in theory I could make an emerald ore world, but I'm a ways away from that. And i haven't gotten around to compressing enough cobblestone to go to the Deep Dark. I managed, after a ton of mining, to first one, lonely emerald ore in the mining world, but that is not enough to make the emerald seeds in Agricraft and get them to 10/10/10. The only way I have a reliable source of emeralds ATM (since in my current seed I've yet to find a village--and even then farming villagers is not my thing) with putting gravel through a Ex Nihilio/ExAstris set-up, and that kills my fps. So I don't want to rely on it indefinitely (not to mention there's only some much of my time and resources I want to devote to making endless amounts of gravel).
I do not know what the issue with the emerald ore gen is. I noticed in various forum posts that other people are having this same problem, and even in one of Hypnotized_'s LPs he ran into this issue and had to go the RFTools route. But I tested this with about 30 different seeds using both World Edit to check ore distribution and Mekanism's digital miner, and every seed I could not find emeralds where they are suppose to be in a BoP seed. If I switched to a regular non-BoP seed, though, I could find emeralds, no prob. So it's something with the BoP world gen. Rather depressing since I really enjoyed emerald mining in BoP seeds in the past.
Anyhow, emeralds aren't an urgent need, it's just I wanted to max out Agricraft so I could focus on other mods. Right now I am working through Immersive Engineering and am a bit annoyed that the multiblock machines don't play nice with Ender IO conduits. I hadn't really planned out my IE building for space for hoppers, tanks and chests everywhere but I'll make do.
I am also working the largest ME network I've ever attempted. I've never used AE as extensively as some modpack player do so it's been an adventure. Right now I am trying to produce more gold for logic processors for enough storage units without setting up a quarry, because I can't handle the storage overload from an Ender Quarry without spending a ton of time on storage management, and Mekanism's digital miner's filters are kind of buggy and miss many of the Underground Biomes Construct ores. So I'm relying on making Ex Nilio gold ore dust from gravel, that I then run through a TE pulverizer to double it. I am growing gold nuggets via Argicraft as well. It's a little crazy, I admit. I perhaps should just crank out a few dozen DSUs and run an Ender quarry. LOL.
This my base so far--there's a main residential building, a Big reactor building, an AE building and in the back is the IE building. Then there's my Agricraft area and an area for both Harvestcraft and Growthcraft bees (I'm seriously thinking of adding Forestry back in too, so I can do ALL the bees). There is a lower level for each building that interconnect to each other. Even so I'm still doing a lot of my crafting outside and there's plenty of inventory waiting for my ME system to get up and running:

Does anyone know what the problem is with the calciner not producing minium dust? I read the mod author's reddit about the changes, and he said if you calcinate a diamond, which has equal value of minium dust, you should get 1 minium dust per diamond. But I just get ash, regardless of what I calcinate.
Someone having the same problem asked this question on the reddit thread about the new changes to producing minium dust and got no answer, and someone has posted this problem on the github, and there's no answer there either. So I'm asking this forum, does anyone know what is causing this and is there a fix? I effectively cannot do anything more with this mod without cheating in minium at this point and I do not want to do that.

Yes, Regrowth uses Agricraft and Project Ozone does not. OK. Whelp, that stinks. :\

What is the status with compatibility with Magical Crops?
I added GS to the Project Ozone modpack, hoping to use the garden soil with the Magical Crops. But the MC seeds don't stay planted on the tilled garden soil, and don't grow when planted on the untilled garden soil. The MS seeds are growing fine on regular vanilla tilled soil.
I had previously used the GS garden soil with MC crops in the Regrowth pack, so I had assumed the 2 mods where already compatible. Is there something I can do in the GS config to allow MC crops to grow on the garden soil?
Project Ozone uses the 4.0.0 Public Beta 5 version of Magical Crops.

I'm having the same problem and it's driving me crazy. I had Agricaft installed and they were dropping them then. But I had to remove Agricraft because it wasn't working properly. So I thought maybe it was issue relating to removing Agricraft. But if other people are having this problem, then it's not that. I'm using version j too.
Reeeeeally frustrating because after removing Agricraft, I lost over half of my seeds and then shelled out a bunch of emeralds for new seeds from the Harvestcraft market, only to lose them when I tried to break the crops to move them. I went though a mess with Agricraft and now I have a mess with Harvestcraft. Sigh. I just want to grow some food that's not just boring vanilla crops.
And I still can't get the fresh water recipe amounts to change when I change the configs.

Dude, I don't know where you live but I live on the Mexican border in a city that's 70% Latino, most of whom are either Mexican American or Mexican immigrants. Here's the thing: Mexico does not have one style of cuisine, and the styles of cuisine found near the US border are going to vary a lot from central or southern Mexico. That includes tacos. You know, like how in every other country on the planet people have different ways of making different dishes depending on where int eh their country they live? So does Mexico, And around here, people like their cheese. It goes well with the chiles grown around here. North Mexican cuisine is very similar to what is called "Tex-Mex" in the US. And yes, people of Mexican descent around here eat their tacos with cheese. But hey, you're more than welcome to come here and tell them they're doing it wrong. You're also welcome to be utterly laughed out of the room for thinking a freaking internet article is an authoritative source on what people really eat.

Can anyone help me with this issue:
I am getting the worst flickering with JABBA barrel labels and the TiC Smeltery with Optifine installed. I finally gave in this morning and removed Optifine for now because it makes my eyes hurt. I've been messing around with my universal gpu settings but nothing seems to affect it either way. Any suggestions on what I can do?
My gpu is a Radeon 7850 and the Optifine versions i've been using are HD B7 and HD C1 (Standard) for 1.7.10.
Rest of my system specs:
Win7 Pro
Java 8
AMD FX 6300 3.5GHz cpu
4GB of allocated RAM out of 8 total (I'm playing a big modpack)
VeiwSonic monitor with 75hz refreash rate and top res at 1920x1080

Thanks. I'm still learning what this mod does, and I did not know that.

I just realized that with the gany's inventory modification for the vanilla crafting table, you can switch to a regular vanilla chest. My bad. Earlier I was avoiding using that because it was crashing my game (ticking error), but I removed Custom NPCs from the pack and that appears to have fixed the problem with the crashing (I hope). CustomNPCs also adds its own crafting block with a modified crafting inventory, and there may be a conflict there.

Hello again. I appreciate you answering my comment earlier (just forgot to mention that). But I'm back with another minor issue:
If you try to craft a Tinkers Construct pattern chest with any Gany's chest, the TiC recipe doesn't recognize the Gany's chests. You have to find a regular vanilla chest already gen'd in the world or use a non-vanilla wood from another mod to make the regular vanilla chest.
I wasn't sure if this needs to be fixed on yours or TiC's end so I reported in the TiC thread as well as here.

I ran into a minor issue when using TiC with Gany's Surface mod and I'm not sure where to report this so I'll report this both here and in gany's thread:
Gany's Surface mod overrides and re-texturizes the vanilla chests to make them match the wood they are made from. But if you try to craft a TiC pattern chest with any Gany's chest the TiC recipe doesn't recognize the Gany's chests. You have to find a regular vanilla chest already gen'd in the world or use a non-vanilla wood from another mod to make the regular vanilla chest.

I have gotten bored with Agrarian Skies 2. i don't really like how the quest sections are a lot of "Here, craft X, Y and Z from this or that mob" and that's it. No progression. except maybe with Thaumcraft, and I no interest in doing Thaumcraft in this pack. I don't know if I'll resume AS2 at this point even though I really liked my base.
I have been trying to iron out a few hiccups with my big modpack. My other smaller modpack is having too many issues with mods not working correctly, stemming from borrowing some config changes from another person's pack. But I don't plan to resume that world and so now I'm re-focused on my big pack. My main issue has been with a couple problems with Harvestcraft and the recent Harvestcraft update was suppose to fix all them but one--the config'able fresh water recipe--isn't working still. Last couple of days I've been working with Minetweaker to make this pack as Peaceful-mode friendly as i can within my ability, so I guess I'll have to fix this fresh water recipe with that as well.
But last night I just wanted to play something so i played around with Material Energy ^4 and while it's been enjoyable I can see it getting super stressful with fighting mobs in some of the rooms. So I doubt I'll go far with it.

Changing the fresh water amount back to 4 in the config in 1.7.10j isn't working for me. Has anyone else been able to get it to work? I am testing this in a freshly re-installed vanilla instance on the ATLauncher, with only Forge and Optifine along withHarvestcraft. I have restarted the launcher after changing the config file and all that. I still only get one water per recipe.
I tested with changing the amount per recipe for the bait and those changes took. But not for fresh water.
