I'm trying to install some mods with forge. These mods won't have initially obvious signs that they are working and I don't want to play into the game just to find they werne't installed right.
Am I right that with forge you should simply put the mod jav files in C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\mods ???
It seems that really clicking the mods button on the main menu should show something but it only just shows forge and its related stuff.
Is there a way to show the extra ones installed?
I've not played minecraft for a long time, I want to do so again though as per usual I want to maximise the experience and get something different.
I heard about this tale of kingdoms mod which seems quite nice....though hasn't been updated for many years and doesn't work with the modern versions of the game.
Ah.
Does anyone know of a similar mod (i.e. vaguely RPGish elements, building a city, etc...) that is more modern and up to date?
That is so much work though, and you never know if they succesfully installed until you want to use them and you realise they arent there.
How does one even mod the technic launcher? My minecraft is a more recent version to the launcher's minecraft so I assume its a different file hidden somewhere?
My original idea is gone now since you can't have admin commands with those mods (without running a multiplayer server which my computer is too slow for). Just looking for the 'best' overall game experience.
I really cant decide which to use for my new game.
My original idea was to play a single player multiplayer game and just build a city (by cheating to cut out all the mining) but....reading about these....so many new things added to the game. But I can only choose one. Which should it be? What are the pros and cons of each?
I want to make a server for myself- need not be available for other people yet though somewhere down the line my friends might join. I just want to play on my own with server commands.
I've downloaded and installed a few mods I'd like to play with, the single player server mod, etc.... and after a lot of messing on and trying to configure it seemed I had something working (though I was unable to log in and had to play offline for some reason....).
But...server commands just don't work. I try it in the chat box- no. I try it with normal minecraft server- no.
And this is even before I try and use technic with the whole thing.
Anyone know of a quick and easy, idiot friendly, way to get such a game up and running? Where might I have gone wrong here?
The trouble there is then they get the chest. I don't have any diamonds on me, largely just iron and redstone (oh so much redstone....) and who knows what is in there...
I appear to have got myself in a bit of a problem.
I got too enthusiastic on a multiplayer server and sort of ended up on quarter health in a room with a spawner and a bunch of spiders. Dying. Horribly.
I managed to disconnect before I died but now thats me stuck in that room....
Can anyone think of any tricks or ways to escape?
There's a hole in the corner that I entered from, if I could just slip out I might be fine...
Is there some sort of quick disconnect shortcut?- so if things do go wrong I can disconnect until the spider leaves my exact vicinity again.
Does anybody know what determines priority on portals?
My situation- on a mp server I play there's a nice central town whre I've a house and then I've also built a castle out in the wilderness. The two are connected via a portal- public portal in town and then a portal in my castle.
Which is great. Much better than hiking all that way.
However, I try to use it today....and my portal on the nether side is taking me to a completely different normal world portal.
My castle portal is still thre and still takes me to my nether portal but it seems someone has built another nether portal in the wilderness that hacks into mine.
What determines which one takes priority?
How do I keep my nether portal?
