This support sucks and no one helps.. Looks like I lost my cape for good.

You're not entitled to a cape. Its a gift for supporting the mod, I hope you know that.

Anyways the only way to get your cape back if you changed your username without doing any research first, is to login using the email when you bought the cape here: https://optifine.net/login If you forgot your password, click that link. If someone else bought the cape for you then contact them. If all else fails, you must donate again to get the cape. Supporting a mod you use all the time is a great way to thank the mod developer for his time and effort!

Quick question before downloading- is this mod allowed on most servers? I am thinking of starting a Minecraft clan, and I want to have the best performance possible when in the middle of PvP, so I have been considering this mod to help with that. Some people say that Optifine is allowed on 99% of all servers, but I just want to check and see if anyone has been banned on a server because of having this mod.

Some (very few) don't like the zoom feature. Which doesn't make sense to me because you can turn down the FOV to do the same thing in vanilla.

My Optifine cape was purchased for me by somebody else, who I no longer have any contact with. Any way for me to get it back, since I changed my name? :x

Kinda out of luck unless you contact him/her. You could get another for $10. Its really nice to support the mod maker for his hard work!

Does this work on servers? If it does i might let the players on my SMP server use it.

You can only use the commands if you are OP, or have /give permission.

I'm having issues with GLSL 1.7.10 and 1.8 (crashing no matter what combination i use between it and forge and optifine) Same error as ELSABA01 lists above

.... i think my best bet is to wait for GLSL 1.8 to be forge compatible, i'm sure it's been answered before but any idea when that might be??

Read the post right above yours. Run the game once with the default profile with 1.8 and it might fix it.

The sun and lava is way to bright. How do i lower it? Lowering brightness in video options doesnt help.

Whenever I download optifine and try to install it, it says "Application not found".

Right click the jar, click properties, then click change next to "Opens With." Next navigate to your java folder, usually "C:\Program Files\java\jreVERSION\bin" then select javaw.exe. Now click Apply, then OK, and then double click the jar file again. It should run it correctly.

    Wow. That is interesting.
So there is less work for me to do.
I will update my installer for installation together with OptiFine.
    Terrain and mobs work.
Glass, color glass, glass pane have glitch. -- They are normal when connected texture is OFF.

I can confirm it works aswell. I only noticed that when using Sonic's 10.2 preview, it looks like Optifine messes up the Global Illumination, where it doesn't do this with 10.1.

Is this compatible with 1.8? If not, could you please update maybe?

It might be a lot to ask, but I like this mod very much but any other Forge version than 1.8 won't run on my laptop.

    Pleasee...

Asking for an update is against forum rules. He is probably busy with other things than this mod. If you want to use this mod you will have to use 1.7.10.

This is what happened when I played: http://prntscr.com/5mhcvm

My game output also repeats: Only GLSL version > 110 allows postfix "F" or "f" for
    float

The game output repeats this as well: 'bloomWeight' : left of '

Your GPU is too old or too weak to run shaders. You can try a lighter shader like Silders. If you are running a laptop, and it has a dedicated GPU from Nvidia, make sure its forcing to use it for java and minecraft.

    Hey guys,
    I'm using release 1.8.1-Optifine_HD_U_B2.
I got two question I never found an answer to (I've been googling a while...):

    1. I'm playing on a MacBook, so if I read any suggestions on how to set my Optifine settings, is it the same for me or does Optifine work differently because I play on another OS? Is Optifine any different on Mac in general (for me as a user)?

    2. I couldn't find the setting for Multicore, though I have found some pages that said that there is a setting called "Video Settings --> Chunk Loading" where you can switch between Standard, Smooth and Multicore. I do not have this "Chunk Loading" entry, was it removed?
And most importantly: Does the version I use support Multicore at all? Because I have not found a setting for it yet.

    Thanks!

    1. The settings are all in-game, so if you installed Optifine correctly, you should have them all.
    2. That setting was removed in 1.8, and replaced with basically a 'always on' Multi-Core, even though the execution was horrible.

P.S. 1.8.1_HD_B4 is out, fixes some bugs.
