Each part you buy has a warranty on its own.

I know but not all parts come with a year of warranty and she was worried I was gonna mess something up trying to put it together. Ah well. It's done. Next new computer, I'm building it.

You could use the FTB mod pack. It's for 1.4.5 and all the mods you want, except for Redpower, are on there plus lots more mods which you can disable if you don't want them.

Do you have a link for that? I found something on the forums about it but the link in that thread isn't working.and seems to have been last updated in august.

Pretty much this. I would honestly try to return that computer or sell it, not worth pouring any more money into it. bulldozer cpu. bad pre-built reliability. 10gb ram. deadly power supply. overpriced. underpowered. I wouldn't touch that thing with a 10 foot pole.

It's too late to return it. I've had it for nearly a year now. It was a huge improvement over my now 9 year old Dell. I was going to build my own but my now ex wife nagged me into buying a prebuilt from a store since I have never built one before and also so that I would have a warranty.

Well what games do you play that are in need of a better graphics card?

Mainly minecraft. If I try to do too much it lags down. The framerate is crappy.

For under $100 you won't be doing much better than a 7770 or 7750.

What are the full specs of the computer and the wattage of the PSU? Otherwise we can't tell you what to upgrade to/if you even can.

How would I get the full specs? I'm sorry. I'm a ra-tard when it comes to this sort of stuff.

I'm updating to the 1.4.5 version of minecraft and want to use buildcraft, industrialcraft. redpower, and not enough items but I'm not very good at installing mods. I can usually get one or two to work, but not all at once. Can someone help me out please?

I was hoping to get by under 100 dollars. I'm a broke college student.

I have 10 gigs of ram and a 3.3ghz 6 core processor, but my video card is crap. This computer came with an AMD Radeon HD 7450. It's just not very good for gaming. Sadly, I don't know as much about computer hardware as I would like to. Are there any tech wizards that can recommend a better card that won't cost me a lot but would be a significant improvement on what I have now?

posted a message on Specify what sound output a program uses
I have my computer hooked up to a standard monitor via VGA cable and also to my HD tv via HDMI cable. Generally, I only enable the HDMI connection for watching movies or tv shows that I have on an external hard drive and once finished, I turn the HDMI back off. The issue is that sometimes (like last night), my wife would like to watch a movie while I am playing a game. The thing is, I do not know how to separate the sounds. They either all go to the TV when the HDMI is active, or they all go to the speakers/headphones when it is off. I know how to change the default sound device, but I do not know how to specify which device specific programs would output their sound to. I know some programs have the settings built into them but it seems that neither the playback program that I use nor some of my games have such an option setting. I'm inclined to believe that there is someway inside windows itself to determine what sound output a specific program will use. If anyone can help me figure this out, I would appreciate it.

But caves are part of the fun! You get tons of ores!

Anyways, I think that removing caves from the generation will also remove the ravines.

No, the 1.0 mod that I had on my old computer had 3 separate files. One for caves, one for caverns, and one for ravines. I could install the ones I wanted and leave the other stuff unaffected.

I would just use the superflat option during world creation but that only gives me 3 layers of dirt and 1 layer of bedrock to work with. That's hardly usable for a survival map.

Hi. I'm looking for a mod that will keep caves and caverns from forming during generation. I don't mind the trenches so much but the hidden caves and caverns bug the crap out of me. A few weeks back, someone directed me to this type of mod for 1.0 but now that I am on 1.1 I need an updated mod, I assume.

I am thinking that it is a bug with Core not recognizing the version number of Forge.
I am having the same issue, with the 'java.lang.RuntimeException: RedPowerCore: MinecraftForge Major Version Mismatch, expecting 1.x.x' bit.

Hmm... Unfortunate. :sad.gif: I guess I can make due temporarily but a lot of my machine designs in buildcraft rely on redpower for vertical wiring.
