This is awesome, got two saplings from mommy tree and one grew into a giant tree, so I have plenty of wood.
Second day and already have a tree farm working and a full log house.
The roots are digging deep and soon I'll have some shears and I can start on aesthetics.
Is using half blocks to protect your heart against the rules?

It has to be in contact with the rest of your tree, so as long as one side of it is touching another log, you're fine.

Of course, you could adjust it however you feel like is good.

Just thought I would share with Forkk and the rest, as someone who has posted here before about not being able to get MultiMC to work, that with the newest update I have not had a single issue yet. Excellent work, Forkk. I really enjoy your mod and the things it allows me to accomplish. You are a gentleman and a scholar.

Well I'm back to try it again. I downloaded the MultiMC, made sure to get the most current Mono before starting up, and opened the program. It worked fine until I clicked on "create new instance." At that point, it went into a loading period that has lasted for 30 minutes so far. I'm using OS X Lion, which I was also using for when I tried 2.3, to no avail. I think that MultiMC is just buggy on Mac at the moment.

Edit: Also, why does it say it's MultiMC for Linux? I mean I'm about 99% sure this isn't a Linux system.

fair enough, but I don't think it will change with the install problems. by the looks of it 3.0 is built the same way so unless flowerchild offers another download option this will be the only fix available.

Im gonna post on the BTW thread and see is flowerchild would be willing to set up the .zip so its easy for users to use withMultiMC

Lol you can try. Knowing Flowerchild, I don't expect much from him.

took a while but I got it working

    1. make a new folder and open it
    2. open the BTW mod zip
    3. go into 'MINECRAFT-JAR'
    4. copy all the files into the new folder
    5. with all files highlighted r-click and 'add to archive'
if option not available, open compression software and navigate to the new folder
has to be the files archived not the folder
    6. save the archive as BTW.zip
    7. put modloader in instMod
    6. put Audiomod in instMod
    8. put BTW.zip in instMod

    I have checked this install in creative, and so far I have a rather nice windmill :iapprove;

Thanks for trying to help me with this, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I guess I'm just going to wait until 3.0 comes out and hope my problem is fixed with that.

I'm trying to install Better Than Wolves. It's file layout is a little different than most. That might have something to do with it.

Well I went back and tried to do what you said, when I realized all the mods I was trying to install were ones I install on the jar, and I had been doing it the right way in that regard. So now I'm back to square one. I tried moving around the files so as to help the program identify what goes in the jar, because I didn't what else to do, and that didn't help, so I'm completely at a loss.

so it loads everything up fine for multiMC?

anyway, how did you install mod loader etc? chances are that is where the fault lies.

all jar altering mods (modloader, audio mod, forge, NEI etc) must be put into the instMods folder (accessable by r-clicking (ctrl+click?) on the instance and selecting 'add mods') once the zips for the Jar altering mods have been added r-click on the instance and select 'edit mods', here you must choose the load order from 1st (top) to Last(bottom). once the load order is complete run the instance to generate the mods folder.

from there close the instance and then r-click on the instance once more and select 'view folder'. the window that appears will contain a folder called 'minecraft'. other than jar altering mods treat this as any other minecraft install folder and place the mods where need be.

    hopefully that helped :)

Thanks! Gotta say, that's extremely complex for something without a tutorial.

It's not working for some reason. So I'm using Mac OS Lion. I installed Mono. I then restarted my computer. I tried to run on instance of Minecraft with mods installed, and it plays Minecraft but with no mods. What did I do wrong?

(I'm the other Minecraft Automap dev)

I recently found a way to build this to run on a Mac. The version I have right now is extremely buggy and the static map and options pages aren't working at all, but what was once deemed impossible may now be possible. If there is enough interest I may go ahead and finish this port. How many people need a Mac version? Linux may technically be possible as well but there would have to be a great deal of interest for me to mess with it.

Definitely waiting for a mac port. Would be greatly appreciated.

You do realize this mod has hardly anything to do with wolves right? "Better Than Pigs" would make very little sense for a mod that improves pig AI.

Ya I know. I was mocking the guy who was insulting the AI of Minecraft.

While I can kinda see your point on one hand, exactly how many Steel Gears are you crafting, that this would even vaguely be an issue?

I don't know. I stopped counting after 2 double chest fulls.

I'm kind of sad that there's no automatic anvil as of yet. Means I have to craft all my steel gears by hand. :(

I have to admit, notch/jeb's decision to call those things wolves was rather insulting. "Better than vaguely canine mobs that seem to insult the intelligence of all things on four legs" Wouldn't have had the same ring to it though, so FC was forced to compromise and give them the name mojang chose - if only for the purposes of clarification.

Nice to see the first layer of the idiot trap's still going strong after all this time though.

Funny thing is, boar are supposedly more intelligent than even dogs, according to some biologists. They are by far the most intelligent farm animal. Yet no one has made a better than pigs mod, so far. The pigs in minecraft are essentially hunks of meat that can follow food. This is a real shame in my opinion. I'd also love to see some improved swine AI.

well, simply: you don't. I want you to do this:

    [spoiler]
1.pick up the one ice block you placed and broke with the bucket
    2.make a 2x2x1 pit
3.place the block of ice you have in one corner
4.put the water from the bucket in opposite corner: [b][]
    [][i]
where b is bucket and i is ice
    5. take water into bucket only on corners that aren't b/i.

    FTFY
Also, I don't understand. You only have one block of ice so only one source block.
