If enderman built dungeons to trap humans, then why are dungeons so ineffective at actually tapping and killing humans? Did they make it like that intentionally to kill the weaker humans?

The dungeons are built so that the humans will find try to find treasure in the chest, then the mobs that are spawned will begin attacking. This holds off the person from getting to the chests, and an enderman has a short amount of time to snatch them away.
I probably should have made that more clear. I'll edit that.
And yes, weaker humans are killed, which kind of helps the endermen because there are less people to defend the world.

posted a message on The Legend Of Minecraftia-Chapter Five released!
A terrible evil is coming to the world, and the only one who can possibly stop it has no idea it exists and wants nothing to do with the people who do know about it. But soon the fate of the whole world shall rest in his hands...

    Prologue
In the choking darkness of the void, he waited. Sitting upon his dark throne of Obsidian and diamond, he frowned at his grim, desolate island.
His name was feared, and he was thought to nothing more then a legend, a story. If only they knew how wrong they are... He thought.
The figure's pupil-less eyes scanned the dark, rocky landscape. An evil and terrible idea began forming in his twisted mind.
And the tall, black creatures watched. They wished that they could break free of his will, but they still did not fear him. The creatures knew everything about him. He was nothing compared to their full power.
Yet that full power could not be used. The terrible crystals that their master had created made sure of that.
their master closed his eyes, then reopened them. A evil grin formed on his terrible face. "It is time, he rasped,"Bring him to me!" The creatures looked down at him. They wished for no more then for
their master to be destroyed, but if they didn't not obey, then there were worse things then death in store for them. Reluctantly, they obeyed. "Yes, lord Herobrine."
    And then they disappeared.

    Chapter One
I opened my eyes to see an incredibly large nose in my face. My eyes focused, and I realized that the nose belonged to my father, who was standing over my bed with a happy expression on his face.
"Today is the day!" he whispered to me, excited and worried. Of course! I thought. Today is the day of the ceremony!
You see, my village has a ceremony for anybody who is about to complete their training as a warrior. It involves journeying to an ancient cavern and slaying a monstrous beast. Nobody believed that I would be able to do it. Not very many people think I am even worthy of being a warrior, except for my father. He is very supportive.
The reason everyone in the village doubts me is because I am not like anybody else in any way. For one thing, I do not have a very large nose, unlike the others in the village, which was troubling. Also, i was just... different. instead of farming in the village, I would explore caves. Instead of staying at home, I would look for Mine Shafts. Everyone in the village thought I was crazy.
    But not anymore.
Today i was going to prove that I could help the village. I was sure of that.
My father left the room and I began putting my armor on. it wasn't special, just plain leather armor. But i knew that it would offer me some protection. I picked up my weapon, an old, rusty, iron sword. I would need it.
I walked out of my house and onto the gravel road that led to the village square. Every body in the village was crowded near the well, awaiting my arrival. I noticed the familiar face of my father, deep in the crowd.
This is it. I thought as I stepped into the center of the crowd. Everybody's eyes were on me. Slowly, the village mayor spoke. "Do you accept this challenge, to journey to the caverns of eternity, to slay the dreaded Spider Jockey?" I took a deep breath and said, "I do." The mayor lowered his head. "Then let it be so," he whispered as he handed me a faded, yellowed map. "it is now your responsibility to prove to your village that you are worthy of protecting us." I took another deep breath. Now there was no turning back. I had taken the oath, and now it was my sworn duty to slay the dreaded Spider Jockey.
But first things first, I had to have a word with my father. I spotted him near the edge of the crowd, looking worried. "Don't worry. No matter what happens, I will come back," I assured him. My father sighed. "i wish that could be true, Indiril."
I was surprised. it was the first time in ages i had been called by my true name. Usually its just 'son' or 'boy'.(Or, in cases with the villagers, 'weirdo' or 'no-nose'.)
I tried to assure my father that I would be all right, but he was still very worried. I could not stay long, so I said farewell to everyone in the village and followed the trail out of the village that led me closer the the caverns of eternity.

    Chapter Two
I looked back down at the way I had come. My village was nowhere in sight.
I had made camp in a small forest near the mountains. Night was starting to fall, which was not good news. Terrible creatures of all sorts came out at night.
I gripped the handle of my sword, ready for anything. I watched the last of the sun's rays sink below the horizon. A full moon rose behind me. Oh dear.I thought as I began seeing monsters appear.
That was when I heard the sound that all children in the village were taught to fear.
    SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSsssssssss......
The force of the creeper explosion sent me flying into a tree. My head collided with the trunk, leaving me dazed. The smell of gunpowder filled my nostrils. I tried to stand up, but I was still dazed from the explosion.
My only hope was to try to find the cavern so I could complete my quest. It can't be far from here, I thought. I staggered closer to the mountains, but I was stopped by several loud moans. Zombies!
They stumbled out of the forest and began lumbering towards me. I slashed my sword at them, which did very little damage. The undead continued approaching me.
There was only one option left for me-run. I sprinted past the zombies, picking up a few scratches as I did so. I ran through the forest, near the mountains, and then I tumbled directly into the cavern.
It was about a 7-block fall. Luckily, nothing seemed broken.
Staring at me from the shadows was a spider. I could barely make out a skeletal rider on its back.
I found the spider jockey! I thought. I raised my sword and-an arrow struck my arm. My sword fell to the ground with a clatter.
The skeleton had shot an arrow at me. I tried not to panic, but it was a bit impossible in my situation. That was when the spider lunged.
Its large, hairy jaws clamped down on my foot. I yelped in pain while a grabbed my sword and swung. It went into the spider, which let out a hiss and went still. The skeleton drew back another arrow and let it fly. It missed me by an inch.
With one swift motion, I jabbed my sword into the skeleton's rib cage. Its bones clattered to the ground in a large pile. I had won.
Well, not really. I still needed to figure out how I was going to get out of the cave and go to my village in the middle of night. It kept me thinking.
Then I heard footsteps. I saw a tall, black creature come into view."We have found him, It said in a chilling voice. More creatures came out of the darkness.
They walked towards me. Their glowing eyes seemed hypnotic as they reached their long arms out to me.
Then I heard a shout. Another person came into view, swinging his sword like a madman. The tall creatures backed away, but not before the figure's sword hit them. Some disintegrated into small orbs, but others vanished. I tried to stand up to meet the one who had saved me, but the pain of the spider bite sent me unconscious.

    Chapter Three
While I was unconscious I had dreams. Or nightmares, would be a better way to describe them. They were filled with the tall black creatures, and a rocky landscape floating in the void. And the terrible, white eyes...

I awoke with a small shout. I glanced at the tiny room that I was in and concluded that it was definitely not my home. No, instead I was in a room made out of wooden logs. I was on top of a small bed. I noticed that the spider bite had been bandaged, but it still made me wince in pain.
I front of me was the one who had saved me. He wore rusty iron armor that looked like it had seen better days. His green eyes had a pained expression in them. He had dark brown hair and a small beard. Other then the beard, he looked a lot like me.
"You are probably wondering who I am," he said. His voice sounded quite gruff. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Septimus. You may have heard of me."
I shook my head. I had never heard of him in my life. "I'm sorry, but I have never heard of you."
Septimus took off his rusty iron helm and scratched his head. "No? But I can tell by your appearance that you must live in Drearl!" he said, obviously confused.
By my appearance? Does he mean my lack of a huge nose, like him? "I have never heard of Drearl. I have lived in a small village my whole life, with all the other large-nosed folk,"I explained to him.
"But not your whole life..." Septimus went on. I didn't see why this strange man was wasting my time. I should have been in the village, presenting the head of the spider and the bones of the skeleton. I should have been proving myself to the village.
"Look, you belong in Drearl! You are obviously one of the first!" He went on as if he didn't see my anger and confusion. "What do you mean, 'the first'? You could at least explain this!" I shouted angrily.
This shut Septimus up, but not for long. "Don't tell me you have never read the legends!" he said. I rolled my eyes. "No, but if it will help explain, I'll read them!" I said, annoyed.
Septimus pulled a small leather book out of his belt. "Read," he told me. I didn't know if it would explain anything, but it was worth a try. I opened the book and began to read...

In the middle of the void''s emptiness, they blinked into existence. The first beings. The endermen. They wished for land to build on. A small island appeared. It was not much, but land nonetheless. They built towers, made of a substance called obsidian. But the towers were not enough. The endermen wanted more, a limitless land to build on. So they created Minecraftia. They made the hills, the mountains, the forests. They grew tired of darkness, so they made the sun. The night sky was blank, so they made the stars and the moon.
But work was not done. The endermen made portals home, and protected them with strongholds. And yet they were not finished. They were lonely, so they made creatures, animals, and humans. But the humans were greedy. They built all over the land. They mined all the precious minerals. They threatened to ruin the world. The endermen gave them a choice. They could continue building but live in a small area, or live peacefully. The humans were torn between decisions. A small amount of people wanted to continue building and mining, so they formed a small city called Drearl. They called themselves 'the first'. The rest of the people decided to live peacefully. They formed small villages and developed large noses, for reasons unknown. Only one Enderman disagreed with the others, and his name was Herobrine. He believed that the humans should be killed for what they did to the land, starting with 'the first'.
The others strongly disagreed, for they were peaceful. They punished Herobrine by giving him the features of the ones he hated, the humans.
Herobrine is not a large threat, but tales say that he still exists, snatching away the first, in hopes of completing his dark quest...

Fingers trembling, I shut the book. "Y-You're saying that I am one of the first? I'm in danger because of Herobrine?" I stammered.
Septimus stroked his beard. "Yes. Which is why you must come to Drearl. It is too dangerous out here." He said. "What I want to go back to my village?" I argued. Septimus sighed and said, "I'm afraid that's not an option."
Then he took the handle of his sword and hit me in the head with it. All I saw after that was darkness.

    Chapter Four
Great, just great, I thought. First I get taken from my village, and now i'm being taken against my will to some place I have never heard of called Drearl. Just great.
I had been unconscious for quite a while. Apparently Septimus had tied me to a pig. The pig followed him because of the wheat in his pocket.
To be honest, I didn't think things could get any worse. Oh, how wrong I was. The horror started when Septimus decided to set up camp for the night. I decided to ask him some questions.
"I was safe in my village. Why do you insist on taking me to Drearl?"I asked him. Septimus looked up at me. "It's not just about that. You have lived with the villagers for five years. The king will want to see you," he said.
I stared at him. "I have no idea who the king of Drearl is, and if I have never met him before, I doubt he'll want to see me," I replied. Septimus took some cookies out of a pouch and and put one into his mouth.
"Let's just say you knew the king quite well," he told me as he chewed. "Could you please untie me? You can trust me to walk," I pleaded. Septimus sighed. Then he gave a quick slash with his sword, cutting the ropes that bound me to the pig, which scampered away.
"Whatever you say, I don't know the king," I said angrily. "Don't worry. Joerajaja, our scribe, will tell you all about it," Septimus said happily.
i was just about to ask what kind of name 'joerajaja' was when I heard a rustling in the trees. Septimus and I drew our swords at the exact same moment. And then I heard that terrible sound...
    SSSSSSSSSSssssssss....
But this time there was no explosion. That was good, because it would easily be able to kill us. But what did happen was much worse. The hiss had been cut off abruptly, and a hiss of pain followed.
Nothing stopped a creeper from exploding.
    "Good. We need him alive,"
Came a deep, raspy voice. I saw a thin, black shape move between the trees.
    No! I thought. Not them!
Septimus held out his sword. He looked very frightened indeed. "Who's there?" He tried to talk bravely, but did a poor job of masking his fear.
After he spoke, there was silence. Not good silence, either. This was the kind of ominous silence that let you knew whatever was hunting you had no reason to make noise.
And then I saw the glowing purple eyes. They belonged to one of the tall creatures, and as I watched, its mouth opened and it stared. It stared directly through my eyes. Directly through me.
In the eyes I saw nothing but pain and sorrow. It was a very sad creature. I saw everything it had seen, and I felt all of its pain. It became unbearable. I felt like I would go mad.
I finally managed to pry my eyes away. I stumbled backward and looked back at the creature. It had vanished.
"Where did it go?" whispered Septimus, obviously worried. Suddenly I felt a hard blow on my back. I whirled around, but nothing was there. I felt another hit on my arm. Again, nothing. I rapidly turned my head and saw the creature, just before it disappeared.
I heard Septimus cry out in pain. He had been hit by a creature. He stumbled closer to me. A creature struck me again, sending me farther back.
It became clear what they were doing. They were herding us. Almost as if they were trying to take us somewhere...
The creatures had us surrounded. Sweat dripped off my brow. I clutched my sword so hard it hurt. " there's only one way out of this," Septimus said. "Swing your sword like a madman!"
We began slashing our sword in all directions. As soon as we saw the chance, we ran. We ran out of the clearing and onto the path that led to Drearl. The creatures vanished and reappeared next to us.
As we ran, I noticed a river near the path. "Over here!" I yelled at Septimus. "Maybe they can't swim!" We ran to the edge of the river. It was going to be a very long swim.
I tried not to think about that. I closed my eyes and prepared to jump. "What are you waiting for? Come on!" Septimus screamed as ha pulled me into the water.
It was very cold. The black waters seemed to drag me down into the river's depths. When we reached the middle of the river, I looked back. The creatures were glaring at us. As I watched, they turned around and disappeared.
It was a long swim to the shore. I was very relieved when I felt land again.
"What were those things?" I asked Septimus. He let out a long sigh. "It is worse then I feared. Those were Endermen."
I stared like one of the creatures. "The so-called creators of the world? Trying to kill us?"
"I'm afraid so. Herobrine has many powers. He may have control of their minds," Septimus said grimly. I groaned. Everything just gets better and better, doesn't it?
Septimus spoke. "We should get to Drearl."
For once, I agreed with him. It wouldn't do us any good to stay out in the open.

It was about another two hours before we saw Drearl. I saw a tower in the distance. As we inched closer, another tower came into view, and another. Before long, I was staring at a city.
"That, my friend, is Drearl!" Septimus called out. It was worth coming just to see the towers in the morning light.
The guards were asleep at the gate. Septimus pulled a lever that was connected to a wall. It lit some redstone, which activated pistons, which opened the gate.
"What? Never seen redstone before?" Septimus remarked when he saw my look of amazement.
Drearl was wonderful. The streets looked brand new. The people were very cheerful. The city was spectacular.
Septimus stared at me. "You call this amazing? You should see some other streets!"
"I-I've never seen anything like this!" I said. "Well, come on. We have a lot to do," Septimus said as he grabbed my arm and dragged me to the castle.
Septimus led me through numerous hallways until he found a large door. When he opened it, it revealed a large room with a throne in it. I guessed it was the throne room.
On the golden throne was a man with a black beard and a crown on his head. The king.
"Welcome, Septimus!" He said joyfully. The king looked at me. He smiled.
    "Welcome, my son."

    Chapter Five
All I could do was stare. "Son? W-wait, but-"
The king looked down at his feet. "There is much to explain, and I do not have time now. Let my scribe, Therus, tell you the story."
A tall, skinny man with a small brown beard and a black cloak stepped into the room. I guessed he was probably Therus.
"I am Therus," he said. "Your father told me you would need some explanations..."
"You could definitely say that," I mumbled.
    "Follow me," Therus whispered.
I followed him out of the throne room. He led me through countless hallways until we came to a library. We walked inside.
"Sit," Therus instructed, pointing to a chair next to a table.
After I sat down, Therus cleared his throat. "I know this must be very confusing."
I rolled my eyes. "About why I was tied to a pig, brought to some city that I had never even heard about, and had the king call me his son? Why would anyone be confused about that?" I replied sarcastically.
Therus frowned. "I'll have you know that this is a very serious subject. Now that Septimus brought you back here, all of our lives are in danger!"
I gasped. "You mean-Septimus wasn't supposed to bring me here?"
"Of course not! Just let me explain..." Therus said. Then he started his story.
"Many years ago you lived here, in Drearl. You were the son of the king and at that time, Drearl was a happy place."
"Your father, the king, was very pleased to have an heir. For two years the kingdom thrived."
"But then the endermen came. They broke holes in our walls and tore through every building they could see. None who got in their way lived to tell the tale."
"Then they reached the castle, your home. They attempted to destroy it, but the knights stopped them before they could do major damage to the castle. However, Drearl's defenses were crippled and our people feared for their lives."
"The very next night they attacked again. Once again, they were stopped, but not before they destroyed even more of Drearl."
"Those were dark times. The attacks became so frequent that many left Drearl. Those who stayed carried weapons at all times in constant fear of being attacked."
"One night the endermen came in greater numbers than ever before. That time they reached the castle.Once they made it to the top floor, they tried to kill you and your parents."
"But before they could, something remarkable happened. You, and you were only two years old at that time, killed them! Your eyes glowed green and the endermen were blown apart!"
I stared at Therus like he was insane. "When I was two years old, my eyes glowed green and some endermen exploded?"
"Yes, that is what happened. Now, do they teach you anything about not interrupting at the nose-village? Apparently not," Therus said sternly. Then he continued his story.
"Although you saved your parents, things took a turn for the worse. The endermen then had only one target-you."
"After the third attack, you had almost been killed. Your parents decided that they had to protect you, so they sent you out of Drearl to a nose-village, where you could live in peace and safety."
"When the endermen came again, they saw that you were not there. In their rage, they killed your mother. Your father defeated them, but it was too late. Your mother was gone."
Therus stopped. "I know this must be very hard for you."
My fists shook. "Of course it is! My mother was killed and I was sent away from my home just because of something I did when I was two years old?!"
Therus sighed. "It was for your own protection! And besides, there was a reason you did that enderman-exploding thing. Just...Let me explain."
"There is a legend that says once every thousand years, a child is born who possesses the ability to control the ancient magic. The very magic that the endermen themselves used to create the world!"
"Of course, Herobrine is controlling the endermen using dark magic, which weakens them. But if they were to capture you, they would take you to Herobrine. He could then extract your power, making him the most powerful being in existence!"
I stared at Therus. "You have got to be kidding me," I muttered.
I told Therus what I thought. "So I am one of the people that can control the ancient magic and Herobrine wants my powers so he sends endermen after me to capture me and i'm putting everyone in danger?" After I thought about it, I might have said that a little too fast.
"Yes, you are putting yourself and everyone else in danger! That's why Septimus shouldn't have brought you here and why he must be-"
Therus was interrupted by the door opening. A fat guard wearing iron armor that was a bit too small stormed in. He had a look of worry on his face.
    "The endermen-they're here."

Chapter five is now out! I kind of forgot to replace the chapter four message, but it is different now. I also changed the first sentence of the post to something awesome instead of telling how a minecraftian will face all the minecraft dangers of the minecraft world. You shouldn't say minecraft 3 times in your opening sentence. Anyway, I might as well say that chapter six will be coming out fairly soon.

posted a message on The History Of Minecraftia
I know there have probably been quite a few theories about the history of Minecraft. This is my version of what happened.
I appreciate any CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. Please comment if you like it, hated it, or anything like that. I like knowing what I can improve on.
There will be many edits to this, so don't think that everything is on here already.
    New Features
    1.0-Sections:The dimensions,The overworld,The Humans, and conclusion.
    1.1-sections:Strange Mobs.
    The History Of Minecraftia
    The Dimensions
The 2 original dimensions were the Overworld and the Nether. The overworld was home to humans, Pigmen, Creepers, And various animals and undead. The humans were miners and they built Mine shafts, Strongholds, and Villages. The humans did not exactly live peacefully with the pigmen, and many wars broke out over land and riches.
The Nether was a harsh dimension. It was originally home to ghasts, Blazes, and a single, evil dragon. The dragon ruled over the Nether and forced the ghasts to serve him and the blazes to live deep in the ground. The Ghasts decided to use their magic to banish the dragon, to they created a small dimension and used all their power to send the dragon into it.
The dimension that the Ghasts created was the end. It was nothing more then a barren, rocky landscape. The dragon wanted more. Much more. It began using its powers to open portals to the overworld, which trapped humans and other animals. The animals became feasts for the dragon, but the dragon decided to bring the humans under his control. He mutated them into Endermen. The endermen were then forced to use their powers to go to the overworld to take more innocent humans.

    The Overworld
The humans and the pigmen were still at war, and the humans were losing the battle. Some of the human wizards discovered ways to make portals to the Nether, which they used to banish the pigmen. But the portals went out of control, and many humans were also sent to the Nether. Most of the pigmen were banished to the Nether, but the remaining pigmen used magic to turn themselves into normal pigs, so the humans would not see them as a threat.
Many humans were also banished to the Nether, and they created fortresses to try and survive. The blazes then came out of the ground where the dragon had banished them and took over the fortresses.
Most slimes were also banished. When the Ghasts tried to get rid of them, the slimes absorbed the power and became fire slimes. The remaining slimes in the overworld retreated to the depths of Minecraftia, and became very rare.

    The Humans
Some of the last surviving humans in the Nether managed to create portals back. But the haunts of the Nether had changed them, and they wanted nothing more then to live in peace. They built villages and lived quiet lives.
The humans who stayed in the overworld wanted to rebuild their empires, and they wanted to do this in a dimension where there would be nothing to stop them. As they had no idea what the end was like, they built portals. This allowed even more endermen to come through, and many humans were taken to the end.
After that, all forms of magic were lost, except for enchanting. The human civilizations had been reduced to nothing.

    Strange Mobs
There are many strange creatures in Minecraftia that need some extra explaining. So here they are.
    Slimes
Slimes are creatures that first formed when the Humans attempted to create life. They did not succeed, and the slimes they created are merely balls of chemicals that can move. The humans were about to destroy them when they realized that the sticky slime they produced could be useful for gluing things. So they hunted the slimes to near extinction. Then the remaining slimes were taken to the nether, so there were barely any left. The remaining slimes retreated underground.
    Creepers
the origin of creepers is unknown, but the humans managed to discover a lot about them. The humans discovered a very large mystery, why the creepers exploded. They did it for self-defense, and also to reproduce. When creepers explode, they release a large cloud of spores. These spores latch onto the ground and suck out nutrients from any dirt or grass. then they grow into a very small larvae, which eventually make a small cocoon. When the creeper grows big enough, it bursts out of its cocoon. The adult creeper does not even have to mate to produce spores and explode.
Another mystery is HOW creepers explode. They do this by a nerve that attaches to a pouch full of gunpowder near the stomach. This produces a small spark that lights the gunpowder, exploding the creeper. The creeper can make this happen whenever it wants, although in extreme stress, this will happen automatically. The creeper then explodes, spreading spores that allow it to reproduce.

    In Conclusion
-The endermen still invade the world, but there are barely any humans left. This makes their job very difficult.
-The dungeons in the world were built by endermen to trap humans.
-Ghasts are always crying because they practically worshiped magic, and they have none after they used it to banish the dragon.
-Some adventurous humans still remain, exploring caverns and saving the last villages. Perhaps someday one of them will slay the dragon and free the dimensions from its invasions...

Well, that is all, for now. I will probably continue editing this occasionally. Please post if you have something to say about this. Hope you enjoyed it!

No, I was not. Thank you for the advice!
The story was awesome, by the way. It is very interesting how you told it from the Enderman and your point of view.
