I am a bit curious as to The support of project red and computercraft, specifically the support for switching bundled cables with computercraft, as it does not seem to function currently. Not sure if this is a computercraft issue or a project red issue? I also apologise if this has been asked previously.
Thanks. Amazing mod, by the way.

Jun 27, 2012I understand that snapshots are not official updates. Snapshots that are optional, testing, beta stuff, I get all that. As a manager for a piece of software in development, we do this too.Posted in: Recent Updates and Snapshots
Typically, though, even with updates that are meant to "fix bugs", the update isn't half way done when it is released. Whether it's a development release or an actual release. I'm mainly referring to the fact that different types of stairs are released for Birch trees and such. Great! Too bad they weren't craftable. This is something that should NOT be easily missed like that. If you "add" something to the code you at least compile it to ensure that you can at least make it in the game. It seems like it was one of those things that was exactly like 1.0. They threw something in at the last minute to make the release and then realized "oops! I forgot to add the crafting code for that!". It is NOT professional, whether its a development release or not. They're making these things public to hundreds of thousands of people AFTER a games' release. It's just very unprofessional to me to do something like this. Then they made stairs craftable, but...oops! They're wood and you can't set them on fire.
I get that Jeb can't test all this stuff. Most developers test their code to make sure at least the feature that was "added" works correctly. Yeah, it can break other stuff in the process. I understand this too. I fully support the release snapshots and try to use them myself...but when you release snapshots that might be unplayable to a large mass...then what's the point (referring to 12w23a and 12w01a)?
Additionally, I get that development snapshots aren't "updates", but this has been a routine thing with Minecraft since waaay back in Alpha. Something was added to an actual update and it didn't work correctly, if at all.
Jun 27, 2012Yeah yeah, another one of these topics....go back to your hole, trolls. I don't post here that often but I feel I have to rant, and where a better place then where all the trolls gather!Posted in: Recent Updates and Snapshots
I'm not bashing mojang by any merit. They've done an excellent job so far with the updates and update schedule. Most other games only three-five major patches that add content to the game during the lifetime of the game so no doubt that Mojang is doing a good job.
I'm also not saying that the content of the updates is horrible, but what the updates consist of.
For a snapshot that is supposed to be "bug fixing" introducing more bugs or worse yet, not adding something correctly (as with the issue with the different stairs first not being able to be crafted and then not behaving like they should (not being able to be set on fire by flint and steel) needing two snapshots or even three to implement properly), it's not putting a lot of faith at the going's on's at Mojang.
This is not the way its supposed to go. You introduce a patch to fix bugs, not introduce more bugs. I'm sure that everyone here would like to see a complete 1.3, not a rushed and half way done 1.3. It'd be pretty sucky to get a 1.3 that no one can play.
This isn't the first time that this has happened, either. I recall the final release of Minecraft at 1.0 needing a patch to 1.0.1 to not cause major issues. Same with Alpha 1.2.1 needing 1.2.1_1 to work properly. This is getting too troublesome to look at the changelogs posted on the wiki and on mojangs website just to see not much was added and even less was fixed.
Please tell me I'm not the only one that feels this way.
PS: If you don't have anything constructive to say, you don't have to reply. Really! I won't be angry if you didn't.

Sep 30, 2011If someone has a button inside their house that they may use once a day or every few days, wire that up to TN all around their house. Don't touch the house, but lay a bunch of TNT all around their house, kinda like a moat, with a bunch of water springs everywhere. When they click the button/throw the switch, it sets off all the TNT, opening up a moat all around their house and when the blocks clear, it will expose the springs and make them flood the new moat, creating a real moat like thing around their house.Posted in: Survival Mode
If their house is made out of non-flammable materials, make the water into lava and do the same thing :biggrin.gif:

....Why don't you calm down a few. The only thread I found was from early this year...he probably didn't want to bump it.
Jun 9, 2011You know, my friend was almost the exact opposite. My friend refused to buy Minecraft BECAUSE it was still in Beta. We pushed and shoved him because of the cheaper price. Pay half price now or full price later? I'll take the half price now. We made him buy it and now he's addicted.Posted in: Discussion
Jun 9, 2011...how do people get so low FPS? On my laptop I run about 90 or so...Posted in: Survival Mode
on my desktop I push 700+ at all times. Sometimes I've dropped below 500, but usually it's up above 600 at least. My video settings are all maxed out, max view distance, graphics fancy..etc.

It seems like more than I thought play like me.
I love the idea of resource gathering to build things. I hate when things are handed to me, either in a game or real life. That's why I don't play WoW. That game is so easy when it comes to questing that it's a joke to even try to play it. Managing resources early in the game, thinking 'oh man, I need to save 3 cobblestone just in case I need to make another pick or an axe for tomorrow' or 'oh man, if I need some glass, I better save some coal'. I've been looking for something like this in an MMORPG for a long time (I'm still looking for an MMORPG like that, but I found the medium, Minecraft)
