For one thing, you should put some lighting outside your mansion to give it a mood. It's hard to see in the video.
A rollercoaster would be fun and I definitely suggest it. It looks like you have plenty of iron!

Is the next step to manually bring buckets of water and cover it up, or is there a better way?
I know this isn't helpful at all (sorry), but I just wanted to say that the picture of the missing island is pretty epic. I suggest you just dig deeper and deeper and just make a massive gaping hole in the middle of the ocean...
Release the Kraken!

Haha. It doesn't "technically" work, but it's still an accepted internet convention for directing a message to a specific person.

So the updates are set to come out all at once on Halloween? Or will updates be rolling out incrementally, with the goal to have them all out by Halloween? I guess it's a stupid question... just curious.
Oct 6, 2010I joined just a few weeks ago. I think the scope of everything is what hooked me. I love the joy of finding stuff (lakes, mountains, caves, tunnels, underground rivers, lava, veins of ore).Posted in: Discussion
I also like the community. Even with all the haters and griefers and stuff, it's fun to get to know the people on here.
Oct 6, 2010Posted in: Alpha - Survival Multiplayer DiscussionQuote from GetPoopy »I, like many players, am very excited about the Halloween change, and want to thank you for an already awesome game.
However, I was wondering, with so many changes planned for Oct. 31st, what is your plan for some smaller ones that are on your TODOlist on the website? For instance, you have Survival Multiplayer listed as your next action, which I can understand that possibly meaning that it will be the Oct.31st update you have in mind, but does the invulnerability of mobs and players in SMP at the moment count as a bug that you are going to maybe fix beforehand, or is it a change that won't be out until the upgrade.
Once again, just curious, as that is the feature that I know I and many other players are looking forward to the most, and didn't know if it counted as a "bug" in its current state, or simply an early version.
Thanks for your time.
Definitely a good question. It probably won't be answered here...
Oct 5, 2010Posted in: Alpha - Minecraft Halloween UpdateQuote from dylloop »[inspirational speech ahead] Do we really need to discuss these things? complain about what you dont like? and ask for more? Let Notch do his job he knows best and he will make this the best update ever. even if you dont like watches, finite torches, ect. he will make yoou like them ore you can stop playing minecraft! [inspirational speech over]
now go ahead and complain on here anyways because I already know you will haha.
Drat... I thought you were going to reveal some incredible truth or secret. But it's just another thread about other threads. Not that I'm complaining!
Oct 5, 2010Posted in: Alpha - Minecraft Halloween UpdateQuote from Pattoe »Oh god. I hope they have the option to turn them off because this would make the game unplayable for me, I'd have to play peaceful, They'd give me a heart attack!
(Good idea, though.)
Yeah, I would definitely have to invest in new undergarments. That would be terrifying! And I'd never explore their tunnels without multiplayer... I'd need a whole group of people to even feel remotely safe. (Mostly so someone else would get eaten while I run away...)
Oct 5, 2010I don't mean to bump this, but I've received dozens of page views from this thread to my site without any suggestions for improvement. People are clearly looking at it... Thoughts?Posted in: Discussion
I've published 4 days of my life in Minecraft so far... with many more to come!
Oct 5, 2010Posted in: Alpha - Minecraft Halloween UpdateQuote from chisle »Quote from Saep »Pretty sure everyone knows this is in alpha.
I suggest for everyone to voice their opinions on the upcoming changes as much as possible, so the development of changes can differ based on the community's reception.
I completely agree that people should voice their opinions, i just believe they should be educated opinions, and the only way for them to be educated is to first try the patched version with the new updates. As a person who followed the Starcraft 2 game from Alpha to release i got to see a lot of flaming threads and the such from people who got to only see screen shots and never actually play the game. I am just saying you have to be open to change because I have seen games change tremendously from start to finish.
Thanks for the insightful posts. I've only been playing minecraft for a month or so... but I've been really astonished at the anger all over these forums. The game is great and has been a success so far... why is there no faith that it will still be good after some other changes? I love seeing the world grow and become more diverse with new items, areas, etc. So I'll wait to critique until I've seen how they are implemented!
