technically no, but occasionally the wall they have in place doesn't work and i can boot up things like minecraft and steam with no issue. however the only apps i can get running have to come from a .dmg, and even then its not a 100% guarantee (ex. FTB wouldnt run.)

Technically no, but many people in my school (back then) had 1.2.5 passed around on Laptops they had for school work you could rent. Even Console Emulators.

I don't want to say how to get around it, but my guess is it's blocking Java, without going to a few lengths (and technically breaking the school rules) it's not worth doing. And Education Edition isn't available on Mac I think but even still you can't run mods on anything but Java Edition.

i wouldn't say its blocking java *specifically* (since it has problems running almost any other app unless it comes from a .dmg, and even then FTB didnt work. i have vanilla running perfectly fine as well (alongside steam), so the problem purely stems from being unable to run the forge installer.

EDIT: side note, im already kinda breaking rules by having minecraft on here anyway, not to mention quarantine, so i'd say i've crossed that line a while ago. i also don't particularly care how many lengths i have to go, so i wouldn't worry *too* much.

I'm trying to install forge on my school issued macbook and the forge installer wont run (something about being from an unidentified developer or something, idk). is there a way i can bypass the installer and just install forge manually?
