    The converter is taking the power more quickly than your setup is able to handle. The batteries are overheating from transferring power too quickly.

    You might try lowering the maximum power of the converter block (by right-clicking it and adjusting) and/or adding more batteries to your setup until the load is sufficiently divided among the batteries as to not cause overheating.

    The reason it doesn't explode when you charge it is because you are charging it slowly enough that it doesn't overheat.

    Return To Home (RTH) -
    A summary of what was revealed from FlowerChild's interview on his upcoming game.

    • The game will be called Return To Home. (This name "has a lot of meaning at multiple levels, both for the mod, and for [FlowerChild] as a developer.")
    • It will not be a Minecraft mod.
    • It will be a voxel-based game like Minecraft.
    • The gameplay will have survival elements.
    • The game will have automation and industrialization.
    • The story will pick up from where Better Than Wolves left off.
    • The game will probably not require players to look up much on a wiki (like with Minecraft crafting recipes).
    • The game will initially be single-player-only, but it will be coded with multiplayer in-mind.
    • It will not include modding-support from the start, but it may be added later on.
    • The box will be blue.
    • FlowerChild will mostly stop adding features to Better Than Wolves once he begins work on RTH.
    • The game will probably written in C++.
    • FlowerChild will be coding his own game engine for RTH from-the-ground-up. (This is a very hard and long task.)

    I started a new world with large biomes. I spawned in the desert and checked my starter kit in the bonus chest. I looked around the desert wondering what I was going to eat. I picked up some cactus and walked to a river for some reed. I dropped a reed in the river, so I jumped in to get it. A squid ate me, and I died.

    I respawn and walk till I find a desert village. It is completely empty. I keep walking and see a jungle biome to the left and a taiga to the right. I pick the jungle hoping I could eat some cocoa. I climb a jungle tree in search of cocoa, and spider shot web at me and kills me.

    I was looking on the wiki and found some interviews with FlowerChild from a few years ago. It's interesting to hear about his design philosophy.


    In the second video he mentions a BTW factory farm video. It's good too - shows some of what is possible with BTW automation.

    I think it crashes if you try to use it with IC2 power anyway. I couldn't get it to work with Redstone Flux either. I think you have to use the combustion engine.

    I tried making some power lines with a transformer box. I wasn't able to cover the transformer with a block like you can with power cables, so I just put them around it instead.

    All the abilities seem too powerful right now. Maybe there should be a cooldown on throwing a potion, for example. Maybe the abilities could start out weak, but they could be upgraded over time.

    Maybe it would be cool if there was an option to craft a utility box. You would be able to place different types of Electric Age items in there like transformers. The utility box could be mounted to the side of another block, so you could make a utility pole.

    Maybe we can pretend there is a built-in ROM with software for a touch-screen keyboard. Tablets sound awesome, though. Can they be used to command an army of robots? I can't wait to mess with them.

    Edit: I assembled an iPad and iPad mini.

    It doesn't look like tablets work with upgrades yet. I assembled one with the navigation upgrade, the tractor beam upgrade, and the inventory upgrade, but the tablet didn't recognize them.

    Possible issues:

    • I can smelt a bucket of milk into 7 ingots. But I can't smelt a bucket of chocolate milk into 7 ingots. I can only conclude that chocolate is an excellent insulator.

    • If I walk on cake I sink down about 1/16 of a block into the cake, but I don't sink into cake batter.

    • Also walking on cake and batter seems to be as fast as walking on gravel.

    • With the sapling icons, Oak, Birch, Spruce, and Jungle saplings rest on the bottom, but Blood Wood sapling kind of floats.


    • Are the eyes of jungle spiders and angry wolves supposed to glow in the dark? I tried turning off all the MCPatcher special features, but I still can't get them to glow.

    I'm guessing he wants to make a city and make power lines going to each house and put transformers on the utility poles.

    It'd be cool if you could hang the power cables like power lines.

    With a torch, the space where it exists has light level of 14, and the adjacent spaces have a light level 13.

    With the candle it seems the space it's in is also light level 14, but its adjacent spaces are also 14. So it looks like the candle has a slightly larger range than the torch.

    Is this correct?
