Right now there's a bunch of blocks that make the player go slower. What do you think about being able to go faster on some surfaces? I don't feel like I'm getting enough of a benefit for building roads, at the moment. Maybe give a speed bonus for blocks that are good for roads and floors (e.g. cobblestone, planks, obsidian, slabs, hardened clay, bricks, etc).

    It's seriously incompatible with everything?

    Like. No NEI?

It's incompatible with most things. I don't think it works with NEI or TMI anymore. It might have used to work back when Better Than Wolves required modloader. It doesn't hurt to try, though.

I think you might be able to get one of the mini map mods to work with it, but it kind of goes against the spirit of the mod. I think Rei's minimap might work, but it requires modloader too.

I think the older versions of these mods didn't require Forge. I'm not sure when Forge became a requirement for each of them, but Forge mods definitely don't work with Better Than Wolves.

Make sure to download the correct versions of the mods for the version of Minecraft you will be using (latest version of BTW is for Minecraft 1.5.2).

Does Thaumcraft have some kind of a chunk loader? If not, do you think it's okay to use chicken_bone's chunk loader with Thaumcraft?

I noticed in the OP that it says this is a balanced mod. I like that. Do you think Thaumic Tinkerer is balanced too? It's my first time doing Thaumcraft and I don't want to mess it up. Thanks!

An insulated wire we can run underwater would be nice. Right now we have to build a tube to get power to a underwater base.

I thought maybe a power transmitter could solve this problem, but it doesn't look like the power transmitter will transmit through water. So even if you used a power transmitter, you would still need a tube.

Maybe you could power your underwater base with stone heat furnaces or water turbines. Wind turbines don't work underwater, though.

Edit: I just realized that this isn't apparent in screenshots - the water turbine is rotating in the picture, but the wind turbine isn't.

How do you cover wires with other blocks?

Hold down the "c" key and right-click.

Hey, first off I'd like to say I LOVE this mod, its brilliant.

I have 1 question though.. I have set up a lighting system using the light controllers, which is working fine. Although, I am yet to find a way to control a switch with signal cables.

So basically, I would like to have a daylight sensor, so when it is night time, the lights turn on, and when it is day time, the lights turn off..

    Is this at all possible?

    Thanks

Put a Relay in the power cable that powers your lights. Then put an Electrical Daylight Sensor next to the Relay. Make sure the relay is set to "Normally Closed".

It always struck me as odd that one of the dyes was neither renewable nor farmable. I'm luckily not such a huge fan of the color blue that I want to use it in my decorations/sails; I don't consider "blue" to be a special color worth special treatment. I would absolutely never consider wasting lapis lazuli as dye when it has multiple functional purposes.

I think it would be cool to have blueberry bushes for blue dye, as mentioned in the sargunster thread, but I'm guessing hardcore sheep sort of fills the role for renewable dyes. I think the only things we can use dye on right now are wool blocks, leather armor, fabric armor, and windmills. And wool blocks are probably the main dyed item that you would want to be able to mass produce.

Hardcore Spawning incentivises you build/explore above ground, and Hardcore Stratification does the same for underground (not to mention the fact it's making your mob traps more efficient).

With hardcore spawn, hardcore info, and hardcore movement I can build long roads coming out of my base in every direction in single-player world, and they are actually useful.
How does hardcore stratification create an incentive to explore underground, and how does help with mob traps?

My appreciation for Hardcore Buckets cannot be overstated. I spent two hours yesterday making an elaborate irrigation system for a new base; a base whose location was chosen specifically because of the nearby water source. I'm always surrounding important source blocks with cobblestone/bricks to protect them, rather than mindlessly filling them in like I normally would have.

I love the hardcore buckets too. I think the hardcore buckets and screw pump was the best thing since the pulley platform system. I think a problem with adding hardcore buckets to vanilla, though, is that vanilla doesn't have screw pumps as an alternative method to move water around.

Where do you find Cinnabar ore?

I just decided to try out the mod and did a usual creative mode fly through to see that ores spawned. I was able to find tungsten, copper and lead...However I have been unable to find Cinnabar anywhere.

I've yet to play around with the mod, but have gone through the tutorial map and I'm pretty impressed. Atm, I've been playing mostly vanilla, so it will be nice to try out a mod again. I'm not sure yet how I'll use the mod to help with vanilla, but can see tons of things if a person also ran IC, buildcraft.

I haven't been able to find any Cinnabar ore in my survival world. I think it might only be accessible by cheating. Cinnabar and mercury don't seem to be used for anything. I'm guessing it's going to be for an upcoming feature.

I do have a question though. Is AG2 going to be for 1.7.10 or 1.8?

This kind of depends on some factors outside of his control. He can't update the development version of AG2 for 1.8 until Forge gets updated for 1.8. Getting Forge ready for 1.8 could take some time. I think Forge was updated for Mincraft 1.6 the same day it came out, but updating for Minecraft 1.7 took around two months. So it kind of depends on if Forge for MC 1.8 is done before AG2 is ready or not. I imagine that AG2 will eventually be updated for Minecraft 1.8 when possible, though.

*00. - Hardcore Respawn & Hardcore Bedding. Without which, all the rest would just be fluff upon the basic model.

I think being able to sleep through the night should be disabled, but I think hardcore respawn should be optional. That feature is too frustrating for people new to the game. I don't like the current minimal penalties for dying, though. It kind of defeats the challenge of dealing with hunger. Maybe the player could only have 3/10 hearts upon respawn.

Im having a problem with Advanced Genetics, Im using RF yo power everything and for some reason its not going into the Advanced Genetics Machines. I have tried everything, from using ender IO cables, Extra Utilities cable, and even putting the dynamo on the machine. Nothing is working and the power gen from AG is rather bad. Im using the HermitCraft Modsauce Pack from the ATLauncher. Not sure what the problem is maybe config but yea i need help!

It would only work for me when I used the Advanced Genetics Generator. Advanced Genetics is not going to get anymore upgrades, so we'll have to wait until Advanced Genetics 2 is released for potential compatibility with power from other mods.
