haven't build them yet, dw20 is still on b19, but yes at least in the thaumonomicon, using persistence as only resource pack it seems blank

I noticed in his ForgeCraft series the mirror texture is missing as well. I wonder if he is on a newer version there. I know they're playing the DW20 pack, but they've tweaked it. Don't know if Monk is in DW20 standard now, but it was in ForgeCraft before it was planned to be added to DW20.

Does anyone else have missing textures on essentia mirrors? Unlinked mirrors in my inventory are blank, so are the the images in the thaumonomicon. Linked mirrors or mirrors placed in the world render fine.

I'm not sure if that's a question or a statement, but yes... Whitelisted items have an 'x' in the lower right corner, and blacklisted ones do not.

Actually, you can put more than one item in the whitelist and turn the x into a number. Maybe it means you use more than one thing? I'm not really clear, but there is a checkbox for whitelist/blacklist, the x seems to just mean "any amount". Maybe you could put 3 items into a crucible and make some alchemically? I haven't tested any of this, just something I noticed re the x on the whitelist.

I find that x on the whitelist odd, too.

Now I'm the one having trouble with a tree farm. I'm using a Botania hopperhock to handle the collecting and storing. I've got four Use seals for planting dark oak saplings, a Provision seal on the sapling chest, and a Lumberjack seal. A breaker/smart golem for the chopping, a deft/smart golem for the planting. The trouble is, the breaker golem will indeed chop trees, but the deft golem won't plant. He just stands there and stares at me innocently. I've tried picking him up, I've tried punching him, nothing works.

I have the Use seals set on empty air above where the saplings are to go. I have set them to 'click on empty air' and to call for provisioning from the sapling chest. Dark oak saplings are whitelisted on the Use and Provision seals. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

The only thing I can think of is that they're greatwood golems, and you specified unlocking brass material. Why was that?

Greatwood golems have worked fine for me in my tree farm. You have to unlock brass to get the fine manipulators trait. Unlike the breaker arms, that trait wasn't specifically referenced in the thaumonomicon anywhere I could find.

You can watch my trial and error at if you want.

Should harvest seals work for sugar cane? My golem is harvesting pretty much everything else in the area, but not the sugar cane.

Edit: Okay, I think actually it is working. It just doesn't work like I expected. The three seals work together, and they do replant, but it takes some time for the golem to figure out what can be replanted. Maybe the provisioning would help too if the seeds were not plentiful...still not 100% clear on that, but my farm (I think) is working.

I'm having trouble with harvest seals. It says it will replant crops, but all mine does is break crops and leave them on the ground.

I tried adding collect/store seals with a nearby chest. The golem grabs an item, but he won't store it in the chest if it's a beetroot, and won't replant it if it's a beetroot seed.

There's an option to replant crops, and it's selected.

There's another option to request provisioning. Do I need to have a golem gather stuff and put it in the chest and then have him use the whitelist? That doesn't quite make sense to me that it should work that way. If I have different farms in the same area, how would he know what to request to replant?

Any thoughts on what I'm missing?

You need a minimum of 7 things for a golem tree farm. 5 seal types (collect, store, use, provide, and lumberjack), and 2 golem types (deft/smart for use, breaker/smart for lumberjack). I would suggest making extra simple golems for collect/store. Having more golems collect/store will make the farm more efficient, especially if you grow large trees (dark oak, greatwood, jungle).

To get all these things, you'll have to unlock biothaumic minds, brass material, and all the seals I mentioned.

Collect/Store seal should be obvious. Provide seal goes on the chest that has the saplings with a whitelist to provide them. Use seals request provisioning from the whitelist. You also need to place the use seals on top of the empty block where you want them planted (like plant the sapling manually once and put the use seal on top) and select place on empty air. Lumberjack seal just goes in the middle.

Good luck. It's quite an involved process, but it works pretty well once you get it working. I've noticed the golems sometimes forget to do their job. You can either pick them up and replace them (losing their color, which is irritating), or hit them. That usually works, too. Also, having advanced collect seals for more filter slots is nice because then if something else lands in the collect area they won't go and hold it and ignore their tree farm work. I have a 4 slot storage drawer for my store, so it can't accept other items, so if you use a chest or something, maybe that's not so much of an issue.

    ...

When rifts close naturally, is there only a random chance of them spawning a taint seed? I've made 3 rifts in a mining dimension, kept it chunk loaded. When I return, the rift is gone, but there might be some vitium crystals or a few wisps.

Does the biome type matter? Maybe I can't do this in aroma's mining dimension? I had another one in the overworld a few chunks from my base that did the same thing though.

    Hello All,

I'm new here, be gentle. I have a few questions. I'm doing my play-through of TC 6, and I know its a beta, but there are somethings that are in the mod, but I can't seem to figure out how to unlock the stabilizer, the flux condenser, and the vis battery in the Thaumonomicon. I know that I can just build it, but I want to unlock it through research. I'm also aware that I could (and may have to) unlock it with commands, but before I got to that I want to know if anyone is aware of the 'authentic' route, for lack of a better term.

    Thank you.

Vis battery requires crystal farming. Have you scanned crystal clusters in the world? That was the part that tripped me up. Recharge pedestal leads to vis battery, and vis battery should lead to flux condenser. I haven't played with the stabilizer yet.

You have to leave the Taint Seed alive for a bit. The taint will spread. You can pick up the dirt with shovels and break tainted wood with axes, as one might expect. You can't pick up fibrous taint. But the important factor is keeping the seed alive.

Okay, so I need to let the taint spread. I didn't give it enough time to spawn the blocks I need.

    Thanks.

How do you harvest tainted blocks or fibrous taint? A rift exploded, and after I killed the taint seed (spawn? i don't remember what the thing is called), the tainted blocks just disintegrated when I tried to break them. I tried normal shovel, normal pickaxe, silk touch shovel, silk touch pickaxe. The rift closer thing needs a lot of vitium essentia, and I don't know how to get it.

Sure hadn't. I only tried ladders and climbing legs. Thanks, that works.

you can stick a hopper into the hole, right click on the lava peice it counts it as a block, you then can put a chest or another hopper if you so desire on top of that

Is there a way to get the golems to go from the ground to the top of the furnace?

Can you automate the infernal furnace with golems?

I tried placing a seal on the hole. The wood golem just dove right in and burned up. It was funny, but not particularly helpful. I tried item grates from dark utilities and vanilla hoppers, but item grates aren't inventories and hoppers don't eject into the world.

If I put the golem on top of the furnace with the material I want (chest), I can have him empty/store it into a botania open crate, but he can't get on top of the furnace from the ground even with climber upgrades.

I guess for now I'll pipe the items into an open crate, but I was hoping for a more pure thaumcraft idea.
