The Rules of Manhunt
The rules of Manhunt are pretty strait forward. It's like hide and seek, but a little more deadly. Because it is PVP-based, you have to kill the other team in order to win. Below is a list of rules.- Players are divided into two teams: the Hunters, and the Prey.
- Anyone not participating will be on team "Spectators"
- Spectators may not interfere in the game in any way
- Spectators may not break or place blocks
- Spectators may not drop items into the game
- Spectators may not damage or kill any animals, players, or monsters.
- Spectators may not give away player's positions
- When the Manhunt game starts, the Prey get a head start to gather materials and prepare for the hunt
- The Hunt begins at sundown, and the Hunters may begin searching for the Prey
- All players must not go in restricted areas
- Players may not go underground. This includes caves and strongholds
- Players may not leave the pre-set boundary
- Players may not dig hidy-holes
- Any shelter a player makes must be made obvious that it is an artificial shelter
- The Hunters try to eliminate the Prey, and the Prey try to fight back or survive until the time limit.
- The game ends when either team is completely eliminated or the time runs out
- If one team is wiped out, the other team wins the game!
- If the time runs out, the Prey win the game!
- If all players of one team log off or quit the game, that other team wins the game!
A Note on Restricted Areas
The spirit of this rule is that the prey cannot just dig a hole in the ground, crouch, and be impossible to find until the time runs out, nor can they travel deep into a cave and camp. These provide unfair challenges to the hunters, and should be avoided. Shelters are allowed, but the shelter should be made obvious that it is a shelter, either with light, doors, or uncommon materials such as cobblestone, glass, planks, or sandstone. All shelters must be constructed on the surface and not underground. Absolutely no cave-diving is allowed, even to get diamonds or redstone. Keep it fair!
"But it's not fair! Why do the Hunters get a Prey Finder and we can't go underground?"
That's not true. Yes, the Hunters may start out with a Prey Finder, but if a prey can get their hands on a compass, they too can use it to find the nearest hunter. The Prey Finder does have some downsides, such as it takes up 2 nuggets of food per use and has a cool-down timer.
There's too many of them!
If you feel powerless against the enemy team, try running instead of fighting. Wear the other team down one by one rather than attempting to take them all out at once. Wait until they are in trouble with other mobs. Get the high ground. -

Epicness1324 posted a message on Firework cannon anyone? And other suggestions. How about dying TNT to get different colored explosions. I don't think having to launch them would really be useful, so how about normal TNT can be dyed and dyed TNT produces explosions of the respective colorPosted in: Suggestions -

FiredHigh posted a message on Flaming Mob LightAfter such a long time, I'm back!! Ready to suggest more ideas for you allPosted in: Suggestions
I was playing minecraft today with my friend, while he built stuff, i went out into a desert to burn mobs with fire (because who doesn't love burning creepers without them fighting back? ) And there was one thing that really bugged me..
Mobs that have caught fire do NOT emit light.
Now, this may seem like a very small thing, but honestly, it looks really really strange.
Take a look:
That's the main part that i hate, it just look plain wrong.
Now, using a torch and extremely good timing to take the photo, i took a picture of what i think it SHOULD look like:
Now, doesn't that look so much better? I think it does.
The Problem:
Most peoples issues with this, is that they believe it would cause lag spikes and be too much for any computer to handle.
The Solution:
When a mob is on fire, it creates an invisible lightsource block above whichever block the mob is standing on, but to decrease the use of it, this would only work if the block it is on has a certain light level on it.
For example: if a creeper falls into a lava pool, it will not generate light, since the light level from the lava is bright enough already. This would also work for zombies and Skeletons when morning comes, when the light level gets bright enough, the lighting blocks would disappear.
Hopefully this solves people issues with this idea!
If you like this idea, then please +1 this and post your opinions and addon ideas (you will be credited!)
And please, send this on to your Friends, Family, Neighbors, or any other human on this planet.
Good to be back!

Yup.

Because you know, realism.
Also when making a suggestion it should be something subtle or else it's a mod suggestion.
I removed the sharp tool idea since that's another thing i'm working on
REALSIM???? Minecraft ISN'T real life. Sure, some aspects of real life should be added to Minecraft, but we don't need tons and tons and tons of it. For the love of all that is holy and pure, I would really want to stop seeing all these "Minecraft needs to be more like real life" suggestions. -

Janus_Bifrons posted a message on Obsidian needs an upgradePosted in: Suggestions
What if the obsidian substitutes not the diamonds, but the sticks? Mining speed remains the same (since the cutting part is the diamond), but it's more durable (tools more often than not get unusable not because the cutting edge, but the handler).Quote from Ric_Adbur
Obsidian tools always sounds like a good idea, but there's a pretty big logical issue with them. You see, you need diamond to mine obsidian, which carries the obvious implication that obsidian is superior to diamond, in the same way that you first need iron to mine diamond, or stone to mine iron. This would suggest that obsidian tools would be stronger and more durable than diamond tools. But if obsidian tools became a reality, they would be much easier to acquire due to the relative ease with which you can obtain large amounts of obsidian after you acquire only a small amount of diamonds. Obsidian is much less rare than diamond is, so it wouldn't make sense to have the superior tool be easier to acquire than the lower tier variety. It would effectively make diamond tools redundant and unimportant, because they would be more time-consuming to acquire and also less effective. Very much like current leather armor.

MumblesMiner posted a message on Let's all rename Steve to SteviePosted in: Suggestions
last time I checked.. MOST...girls...dont have facial hair. Most.Quote from Spaceboot1
This is a suggestion for the community, and something that Notch and Jeb have no control over. I think the community has been too sexist with assuming that the avatar Notch created long ago is a guy named Steve.
My proposal is a simple change: let's call him/her "Stevie". Stevie could still be a guy, but could also be a girl.
Now, someone with some artistic skills make a banner and start distributing it!
