Once placed, the Lodestones could generate an extra bit of Metadata to prevent them from restacking, but allowing them to continue to be monitored either as an item in the world, or as an item in an inventory, this would allow for players to have compasses pointing either at inventories they want to remember, or at other players who are carrying the relevant lodestone, The compass would continue tracking the lodestone until it's destroyed by some means such as the item being blown up, burned or despawning

this way the game would look better
as you may know, Minecraft isnt "graphics oriented" so if you have a problem w/ it's 16*16 graphics, get optifine and a texture pack, or deal w/ it
Jun 15, 2012I believe that you should be able to use a TNT to instantly smelt a stack of 64 items due to the fact that (especially in small spaces) explosions cause heat and pressure, or a single gunpowder to smelt one item at a time due to the smaller explosion size.Posted in: Suggestions
if you are using TNT to smelt, there is a 40% chance that your furnace may explode, when smelting with gunpowder, there is only a 8.15% chance of an explosion
in the case of an explosion, half (or less) of your items will be shot throughout the room, as the other half (or more) was destroyed in the explosion
I think this may prove useful for people who just want to grab and go or when you are smelting & a moron spawns a creeper in front of you.
Please give feedback that is productive. What did you like? what didn't you like?
a fun use for this is to put some TNT in the furnace and wait for the bang to prank him,
Apr 8, 2012Zombies will auto detect and attack all animals on a 1/30 chance, which does make rotten flesh farming somewhat easy using wolves. this will, on the negative side, produce zombie wolves, always hostile and moves as fast as spider (player running speed) making water a great resource, zombie wolves will also burn in sunlight, and auto detect, they will attack ocelots, wolves, sheep, and players, the zombie ocelots will run away, and/or attack creepers, and drop tainted leather, the zombie sheep only attack the player, and if burnt to death will drop burnt wool and otherwise drop tainted wool, thus giving the cauldron purpose once more, cleaning burnt/tainted wool and tainted leather until washed, the material is useless. only once the cauldron is full, you can use the GUI, this can also be used for dying eggs/wool if you add dye in GUI, but color cannot be removed, making this useless for anything else afterwards, it would be able to infinitely dye items that can be dyed (eggs too).Posted in: Suggestions
please leave any comments (no trolling, flaming, etc.) relating to this, constructive criticism is accepted and encouraged,

Sep 15, 2012Last night I had 2 ideas:Posted in: Suggestions
1) to be able to manually sort your servers by clicking and dragging them as well as auto-sorting alphabetically or by date (current)
2) use folders to sort separate people's servers (I'm sure many families server lists are cluttered by servers used by only 1 person) so i thought we could sort the servers into folders marking whose they are or what type of server it is
What do you think?
(constructive criticism only please)
Aug 20, 2012this is an interesting idea, especialy since the more modern mice come with 2 more buttons than old mice, and if youre using an older mouse, change the button onto your keyboard, this might be good to add, but i realy like the sideways fence idea, would make a good banister,Posted in: Suggestions

Feb 26, 2012dereksmith posted a message on LAST DAYS-[A LOT+ downloads!] [Merry H.I.V.E.-fest!]Posted in: Resource Packs
Welcome to the Minecraft Community revived, post apocalyptic resource pack in friendly Slightly HD 32x resolution!________________________________________________________________________________________________
OriginLAST DAYS was a texture pack started by Doku (creator of the ever popular RPG pack). Doku began this pack with the essential land-scape defining textures (Dirt, Grass, Stone, water, trees, etc) but did not have time to do much more before discontinuing the pack. The concept he had, and the work he finished was to good to let die. Using Doku's visual and conceptual foundation History continued the pack, expanded it, and improved it. After History's dissapearance the pack was continued and further improved by Croco 15 and HalphPrice. Now I have chosen to keep LAST DAYS updated with the help of the community and continue to improve it, just like the other texture pack owners had before. The Original Thread by Doku The Second Thread by History The Third Thread by Croco
-Video by loook
If you would like to help speed the development of the pack here is a few things we need help with.
1.Updating the pack to the latest version of minecraft
2.Making sure all download links are up to date.-There are many community accounts for Lastdays please let us know if one of our links are out of date.
3.Writing Epic-Lore please discuss lore on the main forum more people frequent it and will have something to give.
4.Supporting mods we are looking to support mods 1.8 and on.
5. Spotting bugs there are many problems across Lastdays versions from a spelling error in the lang file to a misaligned gui
If you take interest just make a post and someone working on the same project will say hello.
I have listed resources and helpful forums down below.
1.The Mcpacher Fourm. -no one will respond to you.
Feel free to help maintain the pack on the Github.
ObjectiveThe goal of LAST DAYS is to take doku's brilliant foundation work and bring it to its logical conclusion; a full scale, game changing, texture and sound overhaul which takes full advantage of the existing mechanics of minecraft and brings them into a post apocalyptic setting.
This is a list of the many Downloads that we have trouble maintaining.
please tell us if you want to make a new page on any site.-let us know if there is a page that is not listed.
LAST DAYS comes with instructions on how to install it.________________________________________________________________________________________________
The Lore is so Epic it couldn't fit on this page.you can find it on the Lore Thread________________________________________________________________________________________________

History addressed us as an official continuation here:
Hey Everyone ( Derek Smith, Texture Artist Union, Community at Large)
History here. I found myself thinking about Last Days tonight and I just wanted to say how proud I am of everyone who continued this pack after I left so suddenly. It is truly humbling to see what everyone in the community has done to continue and expand on things so many years later. I spent a little time on the lore thread earlier and is simply surreal to see what people have done to expand upon the foundation I set with orbital industries, the huggatrons and the likes. I hope everyone is still enjoying this pack, and I just wanted to say that I am truly grateful for the experience I had with the minecraft community while working on Last Days. Truly this will have always been a very special and rewarding experience for me. I left the community in the midst of an exceptionally challenging break-up and I am not happy with the way I handled that. but I am ecstatic with the work everyone did picking up the pieces and continuing to build and rebuild and expand and rebuild over all this time. Any how, it is late and feeling emotional and a bit buzzed, haha... but keep on keepin on everyone!!!

I have a suggestion that could be realy nice for map making. Why not to add a command that trigers a "super secret setting" to get activated?
For example: [/shader @p Creeper 10]. This command will active the "creeper" shader to the nearest player for 10 seconds.
Imagine what map makers could make using this function!
Jan 11, 2014Piedro0 posted a message on Ores in EVERY kind of block! (Ores as Metadata) [Now with better Pictures/ screenshots!]Posted in: Suggestions
I thought how to make in-game ores better, we could add Ore metadata on an actual block. This would work as followed: Block; as smooth stone spawns and it's given a metadata of an ore block that would normally spawn at it's place. Imagine a cluster of andesite and the world generation would cause a single diamond ore to spawn at the surface. instead of replacing the block with an ore block, the andesite block would spawn with diamond ore metadata.
(image example- used iron)
Just to clarify:
"Ores in every block" isn't literal. The point is to change the mechanics of how ores work so that they don't need a new kind of block for every ore type. Instead the ore is stored as metadata for the block. A possible extension of this is the ability to put ore in ANY block, however chances are ores would still be restricted to stone blocks like stone, granite, diorite, and andesite, instead of just in stone only.
One could do an entire creative page just for ores (or rather just for ores in stone, granite, diorite, and andesite)... or they could add a shift right click function to the pickaxe in creative mode that allows the player to cycle through different ore values (or other metadata for other kinds of blocks), or leave the creative inventory menu as is and just modify the appropriate console commands to account for ore in blocks other than bland grey stone.
(thanks Unclevertitle for this clarification)
How ores will be handled for mining:
Regarding mining these modified blocks the stuff is very simple:
Mining speed: Block.
Drop and tool tier requirements: Ore.
Iron, gold ores will be dropped as raw non-block items.
Dirt with coal metadata
- Coal ore can be mined with a wooden pickaxe upwards.
- Preferred tool for the dirt block is a shovel.
When you use a Wooden shovel (or better), the block will break at a normal speed and it would yield only the coal chunk.
Otherwise it would break and nothing would drop.
Obsidian with Iron ore metadata (note that obsidian is generated after the world so, no obsidian-infused ore would exist naturally).
- Iron ore can be mined with a Stone pickaxe upwards.
- Preferred tool for the obsidian block is a diamond pickaxe.
When you use a Stone pickaxe (or better), the block will break at a normal speed and it would yield only the raw iron chunk.
Otherwise it would break and nothing would drop. (note: when you use a stone pick, the mining speed would be equal to that of a normal obsidian block)

neverimplement this? Try out this mod by MrIbby!
Iron and gold ore currently drop blocks and because of that, fortune doesn't work on them. Well, I have a solution to this. Basically both gold and iron ores will now drop items instead of blocks.
So you start with this:
- Allow fortune to work on iron and gold ores
- Give silk touch more use
Do you want gold to be more common than diamonds like it's supposed to? Then put this in your signature!
Mar 23, 2014In minecraft it can be a challenge to hide pressure plates and make user to user safety measures for your base. So i think it would be a good idea to make a new type of door. The new doors would look like the originals only they would (instead of opening to a redstone current), provide a redstone current so that way opening a door can then activate something. Such things could be stairs, traps, alarms, defences, lights, even pistons that hide the door from sight. This would be a marvelous addition to minecraft. I hope you like it.Posted in: Suggestions
Mar 9, 2014Currently the minecraft skybox only covers about half of the world.Posted in: Suggestions
See how the stars get cut off near the edge of the generated chunks? It just turns into blackness there.
It's even more noticeable when you're using a custom skybox (Shown here with Misa Realistic skies)
So the skybox should just surround the entire world so that you will see the entire sky no matter what height you are at.
Feb 25, 2014You obviously aren't a redstoner, if you were you wouldn't have said that's what we need. Redstone isn't supposed to be simple, it's fun making the wiring and circuitry and improving the designs. You're not supposed to master redstone in a short time frame.Posted in: Suggestions
