    1. In-game command(s) are generally more SMP friendly, and not having to restart the game for configuration changes will be a welcomed addition

    2. The single equation function this time should invite more customization from pack authors.

One suggestion: Definable fuel weighting, as in speed & efficiency offsetting. Shipped by default have two defaults, one for solid fuel and one for liquid that have no offsets, but if someone wants to define let's say Biodiesel or Pyrotheium for example with bonus offsets, its as simple as defining the fuel source offset values that will be applied to the attribute equations.

In addition to having definable fuel source offsets, you could add in an additional variable to the equation function that allows how much the fuel offset is applied, e.g. 0 = 0 percent, 100 = 100 percent. This would allow defining blocks that benefit from certain fuels more than others or have negative attributes when used with certain fuels.

    Example:

    Defining Diamond_block 150% speed/-25% fuel efficiency/25% fuel weight offset

Defining BC fuel 150% speed&efficiency offset

    ---

Diamond_block with BC fuel would give 187.5% speed and 2.7% fuel efficiency

(percentages because its too early in the AM to do real math lol)

Also-- If/when RF support is added you could simply use "redstoneflux" or "rf" as the fuel source name potentially and that would allow users to easily define the modifier offset for Solid, liquid, and power fuel sources.

You may or may not have thought fuel weight defining. I know when the original block config changes were made it was discussed and "designed" into the config format, but it never actually got fully utilized I don't believe due to the design complexity the config format allowed.

Wow! This is amazing! I like it, it's sexy.

Edit: I've got ideas for some Chisel 2 Modular Furnaces now...

Paul, don't let some douchebag (or rather, "the internet") crap on your pride and joy. Modular Systems and all your ideas are original, fleshed out with care, and most importantly shared for free. I enjoyed sharing ideas with you while "on the team" and continue watching for future mods co/developed by you.

Still hoping to see a re-hash of Mobtools, btw! I want a Blazium sword! lol

    Hmm, early TiCon frustrations..

Something to do with castings? Instead of making them, you've made a universal cast that allows you select the shape? Or.. Alternative fuel sources besides only lava?! Something that prevents alloys being created, or rather maybe a selectable option along with the two original metals?

The hype is real. I'm excited

Don't think I'm gone. I've sent out a few little rendering mods Realistic Pain and Where are you? but I'm not just doing that. I've been working with a few others and we have created something pretty cool. I don't want to spoil much, but there is a heavy emphasis on clean rendering and balance. It is also very configurable. It is a tech mod and hopefully you'll see it around. You might not like the sound of it now, but it has its own energy system (trust me it is cool). It is based of RF though so you can use existing infrastructures. As we get closer to beta we will be looking for people interested in giving it a shot. I'll give more info as that time comes. We will need people to break it, abuse it, find its weak points so we can have a solid launch.

I hope you'll be as excited as I am. Its been a lot of fun and it wouldn't be a mod I'm involved in without multiblocks. So if you like those there is some of that in there too.

    New mod hype!

I have my fingers crossed for some blazium ingots!

Hello, not sure if I missed someone else with this problem...but after making the Enchantment Altar I was unable to enchanting anything. I put my books into the altar by right clicking, but when I place an item into the enchanting slot, none of the available enchants show up. Anyone have a fix or know what I might be doing wrong?

    Thanks.

Do you have any bookshelves and/or skulls placed around it? It requires points to enchant =)

Thought you ought to know, this is causing a crash on Macs, making this mod unusable for Macs.

Here is the full crash if you are curious http://pastebin.com/HeRxW2ih

You're using Java 6, which is the problem. The minimum recommended version for Java is 7. It's not a Mac issue, it's using an out of date version of Java issue.

I am still here. In out of town and moving so I haven't even sat down at my computer in over a month. I will resume work soon and look into these issues. This mod has changed a lot and at the moment, I don't plan on taking it further. I may do a reboot down the line and take it back to its basics but I feel I have dragged this on for too long. I have a new mod I want to work on and it will be great. So just keep on playing and I'll keep you updated

You're still alive! That's good news! Get settled in and let's see some creativity flow! After the tanks, I can't wait to see what you come up with in a new project!

    Fix the crash bug

What steps are used to reproduce the bug?

getting a crash after upgrading a 9x9 modular furnace out of gold, has three IO ports, one set to each of the three settings available, lower level materials (cobble, bricks, iron blocks (partially for iron blocks)) didn't crash but now made out of gold it does anytime i try to open the GUI.

    crash report.txt output:

    http://paste.ubuntu.com/9606002/

    full console output:

    http://paste.ubuntu.com/9606025/

lines 20,008 and down of particular relevance.

Ha, interesting error. Thanks for the bug report -- it's something that should be fixed after another bug is fixed. Hang tight, the devs should be back in action shortly after the holidays!

Hello. It's been twice my server has crashed, and burned because of modular systems (specifically the modular storage). I've had to launch the map in MCedit and delete the blocks related to modular systems. Not quite sure what the issue is, but i love your mod so i decided to send my crash report to see if maybe you could figure it out.

Are you able to describe the reproduction steps for this, considering it's happened twice? "I put a chest in the middle of two storage systems" sometimes goes a mile further in fixing problems than just simply "Here's the log, fix it please"

    UPDATE HYPE!

Just a little teaser of a couple additions coming in the next release (along with bugfixes, yes less bugs will be included) --

More Waila Support! What the #$@ are we looking at.. oh, and Fluid tanks! Tanks will be useful for liquid fuels to power some of the systems, and maybe some other things that are.. shhh... in the works.

In regards to the config, the new config will make you have to think about what blocks you are placing and it won't be as simple as using diamond whenever possible. Diamond is still pretty awesome though, but you will need more than diamond. l do need to write a secondary config though for those that don't like the new config.... so much to do...

Wait, incoming Diamond Nerf? Uhh oh..

    hah can't believe I didn't see that

Theres a changelog on curse(forge) as well for each file release, although not as detailed as most people expect, there is a changes section on curse(forge). Most people don't report bugs on the issue tracker, so specifics on some bugfixes aren't journaled. We'll try to backlog and document most changes between releases in the future. Thanks for pointing out a need for a more streamlined MCF OP.

How are you liking 1.6 so far?

an incredibly awesome mod and good for those that prefer not to use some of the more well known science mods.

    two suggestions:

modular enchanting should have an option to stack or increase enchants. diamond swords don't grow on trees and it's annoying to put on what, at the time seem like good enchants only to upgrade the altar an hour later.

Modular storage should have an ender chest feature allowing for remote access to the storage unit. perhaps requiring a specific ender core and ender storage capacity for balance

    @ darkfoxdev

    1) Enchanting is planned to be revisited in the near future! The current release that is almost out the door has been a major milestone for pauljoda & Mathill, but WELL worth it as it's going to allow third-party developers to make content that expands the mod! Planned next release is some new content and extensions on existing systems, so enchanting may get some additions possibly the following or next after release.

    2) Ender linking in some form is chalked up on planned features added by the team! No specifics on the implementation have been hashed out, but it's an idea the team likes for sure and will visit in the future.

Thanks for the feedback! We like hearing how people find the mod useful. Do you have any interesting builds you'd like to share a screenshot with us to show-off? It's always fun to see how the players integrate and use the mod into their worlds!
