I am trying to start out by adding a custom block, so I've watched several tutorials. I am using the MCP with Eclipse. I can get the block in the game, place it, destroy it, and such; however, I can't get my texture to load onto the block.
I have been editing a spot in the mcp\temp\bin\minecraft\terrain.png, but when I either test by running through eclipse or by recompiling, reobfuscating, and running startclient, my block has purple as it's texture, indicating that the terrain file still has a blank space at the index I chose.
I can apply a texture that is already in the game, so for some reason the game must be loading a different terrain.png than the one I am editing. I am editing the wrong terrain file?
Thanks in advance for the help! I want to make a mod that blends PopCap's "Plants vs. Zombies" style plants and gameplay into minecraft, but I'm not making it very far at the moment =/
