My Lava Trap seems to do the job still (It has blocks above the lava so mobs cant jump above it and burn their loot, but I'm wondering about the spawn rate, and what environmental factors play a part now (area, ground material, etc)..
EDIT: And the thread you linked to seems to make use of pig spawners, if I'm not mistaken. I would like to do it "au natural."
I haven't been able to find any threads documenting a successful mob trap that caters to the spawning algorithm changes that were introduced in the Halloween Update. Anyone know of a thread on this subject?
Makes sense. Not to noob it up even more, but do player-placed blocks add significantly more to the world save file size? Like if I have 30 winding trails of wool?
I can generally get the lay of the land when I'm top-side (I don't use compass much), but I find myself getting pretty lost in nether-hell. Anyone have any efficient strategies for tracking your movement, or even creating landmarks?
