posted a message on There should be a table that lets you uncraft things

I'd be up for this to be added if it only worked for things that would make sense. For example, a bow, I'd be fine with that being turned back into sticks and bow. Or I'd be fine turning fences back into planks. Or a diamond sword back into diamonds. But something like an ingot back into an ore or a plank back into a log wouldn't make sense and I don't think it should be a thing for certain recipes like that. Alternatively, because it can only be used for certain items/blocks, maybe it could turn other ones into unique items only obtainable via the table. Like, an oak plant could be turned into saw dust or something which could have it's own unique uses. That's just an idea though, it could anything, really.

Ok, this is the premise, pretty much. There's 100 players on the server (it's an SMP), and we drop onto a HUGE island map, in survival. What kind of groups will rise and fall? Who will take power? What societies will form? If you're interested, comment down below! I will message you a link to the Discord server if you want to be a part of this.[/p]
The server hasn't started yet, but if you want to be informed of when it starts, comment below and I'll message you a link to the Discord server![/p]

posted a message on Make cows attack you when you attack them

The cows in Minecraft clearly have horns on them. But, I don't think this approach should be taken like other neutral mobs. I instead thing cows should charge at you (like running) and but you, dealing damage. If the cow chases you and you run away, it will only stay aggressive for a couple of seconds. Once it hits you it will walk off.

But i disagree on removing beds from villages. Villages are peaceful oasis where the player can feel safe!

And villagers interact with beds, the baby villagers jump on them while the adults just sleep in the beds.

Minecraft is an easy game, so are the mobs. Villagers only sleep or walk around, while their babys actually jump on beds.

I'm only referring to what villagers visually do and that is very important imo. What villagers visually do makes villagers villagers.

I know that's weird logic but hey: I didn't make them. I just want to see them DO stuff.

    ;)

That is also part of the issue though. Sure, villages are meant to be peaceful oases like you said, but they are far too common and hold like 5 beds each at the least.

One problem is that mob farms wouldnt really work, 100 players would just make too many spawning spaces outside the farm

Well there probably won't be too much people on at one time.

MikelessMimes I'm assuming you play on Java? I can make a post to r/minecraftbuddies about this to try and get more people hooked, and potentially find someone who can run the server. I suppose we should make a Discord server for this as well? Let's actually make this happen!

Not going to lie, this is a pretty great idea. Let's make it happen! I'd be onboard! Although, I am also in the same struggle of that I can not run my own server. We would have to get someone who can run an actual server and not just use a free hosting platform that requires a start up every time you want to play. I suppose it would also be quite the challenge to gather up 100 people. I like the idea of an island, but it would have to be a very large island with different biomes in order to hold 100 people (to the point where everyone has a huge amount of free space, but there's still an ocean surrounding everything). I guess it wouldn't be too hard to find the perfect map for this.

All in all, like I said earlier, I'm down! I think this would actually make for something great. It would be cool to see how the server evolves over time as different groups of players start to form while other groups fall.

I don't like to be punished for not using the bed, encauraging me to avoid danger becouse phantoms only annoy me.

What are your thoughts on beds? In my opinion, the game should actually encourage you not to use beds, not spawn in an annoying insomnia mob for not using them.

    Quote from chilldemonlad»

Hello everyone. I myself love phantoms designs, and it just feels wrong that they are ignored. So, this is my idea. In large cages, you have chances to stumble across phantom nests. Phantoms will naturally spawn here, even if it is day time. Inside, there will be tall stalagmites that have nests on top of them. You could find phantom membrane in there from time to time, and if your lucky, a baby. Theses blocks can’t be moved. The phantoms will live in this area, sleep during the day, the whole stuff. I think it would be cute for you to be stumbling around a cave a finding this little thing with its wings wrapped around itself while it snored.

Another idea is an enchantment called “The Sleepless.” It would make it so Phantoms wouldn’t attack you, but like the name suggest, you can not sleep while you have an armor piece with this equipped.

Phantoms are very od mobs indead. They're undead, so can't reproduce, and they also are attracted to insomnia. In my opinion, phantoms are hallucinations that the player has. But, if they are animals, these nests would actually be pretty cool. But I think there should be more of an incentive to go into them than just "cuteness" Maybe some sort of loot box that they guard. The enchantment is simple but sweet. I really like the idea.

As I said, it does not go all the way up to the block limit, and only goes up about 20 blocks above the spooky grass.

That makes much more sense, I agree with this.

Hmmmm....... Maybe similar to biome transition, fog would also transition. So, rivers with no grass for example, would have this cool fog transition.

Do you want the mist to be a dark wall, all the way up to building limit or is the mist only visible to the player standing on the block?

This is what I am also wondering. It would look very weird, also, to have the mist reach the sky, while practically anything not on top of the grass has no mist.

A dark mist surrounds the entirety of this biome, obscuring the players vision similarly to blindness, except that you can see further than if you had blindness. I like the idea of a biome surrounded by fog. It reminds me of the mist in Subnautica that surrounds the islands until you get close enough to see them. But, the mist would only have to go up a certain amount of blocks on the Y coordinate to avoid looking silly. This biome is always dark, as the mist blocks out the sun, allowing mobs to spawn during the day in this biome, as well as not burn. At night, the biome is near pitch black, almost as if you were in a cave with no light, and has doubled monster spawn rate. I really like this. It's like the hardcore darkness mod. Within this biome, you can also find rundown, abandoned looking structures on occasion, which can contain monsters, these structures can contain chests with great loot inside them, as well as weapons. Caves underneath this biome also have increased monster spawn rate, but also have increased ore spawn rate, as well as new underground structures similar to dungeons and mineshafts, unique to this biome, which also contain loot. I like new structure ideas. Got any specific details about new structures?

The trees have purple-ish logs with a rotten and torn appearance, with dead looking leaves, and branches sticking off of them. Would the branches be their own block? The wood is simply called Spooky Wood. LOL This wood functions like any other type of wood you would find in the game. Spooky trees do not drop apples or saplings, however, the player can obtain spooky saplings via commands, or creative mode. The wood in this biome's structures should also all be Spooky Wood.

Like mycelium of mushroom biomes, the grass of this biome is it's own block, and has a dark purple dead looking appearance. Spooky grass will spread onto regular dirt at a much quicker pace than grass, and can also spread over normal grass, The problem here is that Spooky Forests are connected to other biomes made of grass. Perhaps it can only spread onto grass within its biome? but not as fast as dirt. Spooky trees can also spread spooky grass to nearby dirt or grass blocks. Using bone meal on normal grass, whether that be grass you placed in the biome, or normal grass at the edge of the biome, will spread the normal grass over the spooky grass a few blocks and will also remove the dark mist in the area the grass grew, this can be done repeatedly to "cleanse" the biome. Hmmm..... I actually REALLY like the idea of cleansing. This reminds me of the Thaumcraft mod. Maybe you can find this structure that when entered "unleashes" corruption over the biome that can only be cleansed using items found in this biome's deepest caves. It would add a cool sub-plot adventure to Minecraft. However, the mist will return if it spreads back onto the spot you use the bone meal on. Using bone meal on the spooky grass itself will do the opposite, spreading the spooky grass. The dark mist is essentially tied to the spooky grass, thus, you can remove the dark mist from an area by removing the spooky grass. Spooky grass purified back into normal grass takes on the color of a normal forest biomes grass. I imagine we could silk touch the grass and then later use it to cause havoc on people :tnt:

Villagers and animals are scared of this biome. Villagers and animals will retreat from spooky grass, similarly to creepers running away from cats. Tamed animals will not follow you into the biome, and will instead wait outside of it for you to return. Maybe you can find a "Crow" in the biome which has the EXACT same mechanics as a parrot but it will follow you into the biome, unlike other pets (and also doesn't dance to music disks). Attempting to enter it on a pig, horse, donkey, or mule will result in them throwing you off, and moving away from the spooky grass. Forcing a villager or any sort of animal into the biome will result in them uncontrollably running around in circles and random directions out of fear. Iron Golems are not scared of this biome.

I honestly believe it would be very interesting to see a spooky-themed biome in game like this, even if isn't exactly like this, this is just my idea on how such a biome could be. Let me know what you think in the comments, or make any suggestions to change it.

I actually really like your ideas for the Spooky Forests. I had some ideas for a haunted forest as well, once. I could share them with you! Keep on making good suggestions, these are pretty good. Support!

posted a message on The glow squid should be themed around XP. Here's why (and why this would be even better than giving it a unique drop).

I actually can't believe nobody thought about this before. Now that you mention it, XP glows, and it would actually really fit the theme of the glow squid a lot AND make it more unique. There's basically no other mob which does that. Support!

Anyway if crabs where added they should pinch the player imo. They defend themself in real life, even against humans.

This is sort of a realism struggle. I wouldn't like them to be added as completly passive with drops or just for atmospheric.

Perhaps crabs could have a unique way of dealing damage. Instead of deliberately coming after you, or even being neutral for that matter, if you touch a crab it pinches you. Maybe it could also face you and like hold up its claws if you do damage to it, as a sort of warning to not go near.
