You are experiencing something called impatience. As said by "Minecool1809" they have been working on 1.8 bug fixes, and it takes a very long time to code in new items. Imagine how long it took to remove blocking, add custom shields, magical arrows, the making and removal of the quiver, new mobs, and other end islands. The texturing is pretty quick, but coding takes a while.

Or, players could just manage their hotbar correctly. If you keep getting attacked while mining, put a sword next to it. Need to build to block off mobs? Put some blocks next to your pick. Weapon is 8 slots away? Scroll to the wall and warp to the other side, OR, scroll while walking backwards. Not that hard to master simple game mechanics.

i play on both, so i know how the delay is, and it's not hard to just spam click whatever your button is set to to move through the hotbar. ALSO - there's something called hotbar management

We don't need quickslot bars, just get good at switching through your hotbar.

underwater torches automatically drop (due to touching the water) so the fatigue effect wont affect the players.

Do you want the horns on the sides of the head, or facing upwards on the face. Because without eyes and just a mouth the face may be lackluster.
