I don't really like it, I also didn't like the previous hunger bar that much.
I use a mod now, which gives me back the very old health system. But I still want to voice my concerns with the new system.
In an established world food is no problem, you just go to your food source/storage and eat. But when you start a new world, you are constantly searching for food.
Usually I want to look around in a new world, explore the different areas and choose a place where I want to stay. With the new hunger system however, you'll starve, unless you collect food right from the beginning.
As many have written before, it's just an annoyance, a chore.
Part of the problem is the fast depletion of the food bar while moving/jumping. I think if it'd drain at a fixed rate, no matter if you are standing or jumping/moving, it would be more balanced and less frustrating.
Actually this is the only major annoyance I have with it.

Sep 21, 2012Totally agree. After spawning in a new world I entered a cave out of curiosity and ended up with few stacks of coal and iron, and a little bit of gold.Posted in: Survival Mode
It's way to easy to get and totally takes the fun out of it.

That certainly makes a huge difference in appearance, provides lot's of resources too.
Indeed. I still don't get it why they decided that the extreme hill biome doesn't need trees. It just makes it look dull, even though the landscape is interesting.

The thing is though jackcaver, there's now jeb_, evilseph, dinnerbone, and I'm sorry, but I think there's two more that have been working on minecraft, or are capable of working on minecraft. The team at Mojang that are working or have worked on minecraft is a lot larger than just jeb_
Oh, I did not know that. Well, then it makes it only more frustrating.
I'm not saying that the game is not playable for me, but it could be a lot more enjoyable, and for the money that Mojang have earned from the game, I would think that they could afford to put some time into killing the bugs, do you know what I mean?
Exactly. I always enjoy Minecraft, but when I start the game and I still see the same old bugs, then I get this feeling that Minecraft will always stay buggy. I don't know, it's very tedious.
May 30, 2012I totally agree with you.Posted in: Discussion
I recently started playing Minecraft more frequently again after a few months of not playing at all. Sure, I still like Minecraft but I came across the same old bugs that are around for half a year or so. They're only minor but as Minecraft has a lot of these minor bugs it get's very frustrating and annoying, at least for me.
I don't really blame jeb, I mean he's just one guy and it's nearly impossible to fix all the bugs without help.
But there's a flaw. There's still no real way to report the bugs. Twitter?, forget it. Minecraftwiki has the best and only? buglist, but only the bugs that were introduced with a new version are listed. So bugs from older versions are slowly forgotten.
Currently there is a huge pile of bugs/problems and honestly, I think they'll never be fixed. Not because of ingnorance but because it's not possible. It probably gets worse with every new release.
Mojang should have done something and thought about the bugs a long time ago, but now, I'm afraid it's too late.
I sincerely hope that jeb gets help from Notch/Mojang and they are thinking about a solution or better way to prevent most of the bugs.
Disclaimer: This is not a rant

I think not, because of the 'HOT' badge. Doesn't mean that it's impossible to come back though, in my opinion.
Thought so, too bad. With lava buckets and water buckets it was a little bit easier to distinguish certain topics.
Mar 3, 2012jackcaver posted a message on What are your oppinions on the most recent forum change?Well, I never really liked IP.Board. It always looks "too big" (like the new youtube design) and its layout always seemed awkard to me.Posted in: Forum Discussion & Info
Recently all the different companies are going for the "slick" design of their products (I blame smartphones and tablets). I think it's a pain in the ass to navigate through such sites; not speaking about this forum in particular, but rather about the general design theme.
PS: Are we going to get the lava buckets for hot topics back?
edit: Why has the devblog been removed from the top navigation bar? Also, would be nice to add minecraft.net there.

all the biomes really need biome specific creatures.
desert = scorpion , mummy
jungle = monkey , etc etc
why this hasnt been implemented is beyond me.
Agreed, I would love to fight those mummies. :biggrin.gif:
I really love the new jungle biome, but the trees seem to slowly decay by themself??? Also, a lot of animals get stuck, well get spawned actually, in bushes.

I hope they take that feature out. It's too tempting to cheat. Maybe allow switching in worlds that were started as creative so you could test things like traps to see if they were effective.
It's a debug leftover I think. They probably forgot to remove it like with the portal spawner back then.

I still can't see how people complain about "lack of variete" when we got more than we ever had.
Now, we can have:
All with variating temperature zones (except swamps and mushroom) and LARGE in size, with or without forests, possible with rivers crossing it.
Before, we had:
In small size. A flat area was rare and not very large, usually filled with trees.
So, anyone, who says "we got less variation now" should take off those goddamn nostalgia-glasses and look what you REALLY had back then.
It's not about the amount of different biomes we are concerned, it's how they are generated and arranged, their topographical structure. Each individual biome looks almost the same, bland.
Yes, we have many biomes, you've named them already, but there is no variety whithin them.
It's about the random structures and formations we had prior to ver1.7.3.
With the new generator these things are now gone, or barely present. All biomes seem to be premade with some little variations, instead of random generation.
Nov 28, 2011jackcaver posted a message on Did the Terrain Become BORING? (UPDATE 6/5/13 - 1.7 is a biome update?)My brother tweeted jeb about it, but instead DreamyNotch (whoever that is) answered.Posted in: Discussion
@jeb_ Please bring the biomes back to their former glory (ver1.7.3). They are very repetitive and, well, boring right now.
@Fex_XCIII They can't go back since they have completely rewritten the biome code. But they'll keep working on it.
Nov 26, 2011Yeah, every biome (except mountain one) is almost flat now, maybe with a few tiny little "bumps", but that's it.Posted in: Discussion
And as someone said before, every seed feels and looks the same. There is little to no variation and the terrain structure is constantly repeating (even the mountian biome).
I don't know what they did there and why, but I really hope they're going to change it. I literally can't play Minecraft because of the dull world generator now.
That's currently the biggest issue I have with Minecraft.
This really needs brought to Mojang's attention.
Nov 19, 2011Well, for me everything looks the same, still awesome structures but less random and repeating. It feels like the terrain generator now only randomly places premade terrain like hills/caves/forest/etc. (not much variety), instead of random generated structures on the fly. Random Premade Terrain (1.0.0) < Random Generated Terrain (Alpha)

I agree, there are too many swamps everywhere and there seem to be ravines and cave entrances EVERYWHERE!
I think Minecraft should go back to some of the old world generation, but apply some of the new features to the world.
Exactly what I am trying to describe in my post.

I also hate the new hurt sound. It reminds me of taking a hunk of meat and throwing it on the ground or something
I always think of Steve horribly breaking his legs^^
As speaking of the new audio effects, some are nice, like the chest opening sound, but some sound out of place for me, like the hurt sound or the door sound.
