posted a message on Clay Decor [v0.12] (Updated to 1.13!) - Unique item decorations to fancy your builds!

    REQUIRES OPTIFINE

    Information

A Minecraft resource pack that utilizes features from Optifine that allows for custom item decorations to be created and placed in the world through item frames. To get started all you need is an anvil, clay balls and some experience. Place a clay ball into the anvil and rename it to one of the new types of decoration items, a list of decorations that can be moulded can be found below. This resource pack also makes item frames appear invisible in the world which is used to avoid obstruction of the decorations when placed in the world.

This resource pack was created for myself initially but I decided that it would make for a cool side project for me to maintain a resource pack that implements various decorations without the need for mods as to make sure worlds remain futureproof to newer versions of Minecraft as their released. The items implemented within this pack are to be used to create immersion within environments built by the player using various build styles that suit their needs.

This resource pack requires Optifine, you can download the latest version of Optifine from here.

    F.A.Q

Q: Can this resource pack be used without Optifine?

A: No, Optifine is an absolute requirement that is needed for features in this pack to work properly.

Q: Is this pack compatible with "X" resource pack?

A: Yes, it should be entirely compatible although textures will look quite different as this pack is to be used alongside vanilla game assets.

Q: Can I give you new ideas and models to be used in this pack?

A: Sure! That is actually encouraged, although I would have to make some adjustments to models and textures to fit the theme of the resource pack I am open to your suggestions.

Q: What made you want to make a resource pack for this instead of just making a mod?

A: Well, I realized that mods don't tend to be future proof when updating to future versions of Minecraft but with a resource pack that is entirely possible as long as Optifine is being maintained for the latest available version, afterall you are just renaming items and even though they wouldn't display properly in later vanilla versions the world would still be playable without this pack.

Q: Do you plan on creating versions for Minecraft before 1.12?

A: No, unfortunately I don't want to have to maintain other versions of this pack that aren't on the latest version of Minecraft.

Q: Hey! My item frames are invisible now, what's going on?

A: That is an intended feature to assure that item frames don't get in the way of your builds as you're using the decorations implemented in this mod. If there is interest in a version without invisible item frames, I will consider making a separate download for it.

Q: Do you have plans for other types of decorations such as hats and other custom items?

A: Possibly, I have to look more into how those types of items work but I might be interested in implementing custom mobs, items and armor in the future through this pack or another one!
