    Is this still being used by people? This is another one that I do not think I'll maintain for future use.

    Let me know if you still want this updated! I'll depreciate it otherwise, leave the code out there, but not maintain it any longer.

    Are people still using this? If not, I'm probably going to depreciate this. With the new game engines, I am not seeing issues any longer.

    I"ll leave this out there for anyone that needs this for their 0.13 server, but with the new game engine this just does not seem useful any longer.

    Hello all. I am intending to update all these mods / check them over to make them work with the latest version of Minecraft.

    Things go in the way and I never did update these "officially" although I believe that most if not all would have worked with each of the releases that have been out since I last posted the mods.

    I also have a lot of new ideas that I would like to find time to work on. There is a BUT in there...I have been trying to learn to weld and actually built a Go Kart from scratch. I've also started to work on Blacksmithing. As such, I should be able to test these out and get them updated. New mods might be delayed for awhile.

    Also, looking at the mapping of all the new blocks...GEESH, there are fewer and fewer blocks available for us modders. I'm still trying to ensure that all my mods will work together, however, this is getting more and more difficult to implement as the block ID space gets filled up. I can only say I'll do my best!

    posted a message on MCPE Server ???

    Are you trying to do a Survival Server? I've yet to find a good survival server for Pocket Edition - that I can run myself. Usually end up turning on a Windows 10 machine and letting it go.

    Interesting that all versions of PE that I have tested (Windows 10, Android) just PEGS the processor, no matter which version or world (even a brand new world, i.e. no redstone or farms). I originally had one running on my server as a Virtual Machine (Windows 10). I thought it was pegging my processor because the VM does not have hardware OpenGL, only software.

    After further testing, it didn't matter if it was Android, or Windows 10...processor gets pegged.

    At this time, I might go back to Windows 10 on my Virtual Machine and just artificially limit the processor so I am not driving the server's processor to 100%. That's IDLE to 100% utilization is the difference in that server using 125Watts or 350Watts. That really adds up! Also, takes away a lot of resources from my other virtual machines.

    posted a message on Changing The World Generation

    Unless you do a native mod, I'm not sure that you can do much aside from add on TOP of what is already generating. This is how the PC mods do it, they are mucking with the actual game engine. ModPE only access the game engine's functions - so you can manipulate the inputs and outputs...but you can't change the engine itself. If you want to change a bit of the output, for instance, add on a new structure, you can do that. If you want to determine if a chunk you are in is a slime chunk, you can do that as well. If you want to add in extreme hills, you might be able to do that yourself...but you can't really modify the actual engine itself. I also would not really suggest you try to muck with the engine using Native mods either. It just seems that if you are asking this question, you do not (yet) have the skills to do what you seem to be suggesting.

    So, I'm not saying do NOT do it. I'm saying, learn to crawl before you learn to run. I'm very much FOR people doing whatever they want with the game and Minecraft is a really good platform for doing this!

    posted a message on Looking For A Guide Book

    I asked my wife for any advice for you:

    "All minecraft books are primarily for PC. There is a set of 4 'official' books that each specialize in a different aspect. MCPE is becoming so much like the PC version that I wouldn't worry about what the book was originally based on."

    So, I think it's pretty much in line with what I said, just about any book will be good and fun to read. As she said, MCPE is getting so close to PC at this point, it won't matter much. In fact, we are in the verge of the latest update going final. That will give the END to MCPE as well as a slew of Ocean stuff. That's the BULK of the remaining things that MCPE was missing from MCPC (although there are some new things in MCPC at this point).

    Hello all,

    I'm working to update all my mods to work with the new 1.0 update.

    Super Door Operator 2000 will probably be last, as I still want to break up it's functionality. I'm probably going to split it into 3 mods. 1 engine, 2 mods (which uses the engine). it might be a bit more complex for users, so I'm not dead set on that. I just think it would allow me or others to use that engine to perform things that Super Door Operator 2K allows (see the tutorial video).

    I'm also trying to get my new mod Super Colored Glass 2000 released. It works under 0.15.4, however, skipping to 1.0.0.7 + BL Beta, does not seem to be happy for some reason. I've had some beta testers try it under various other versions (0.16) to no avail there either.

    Any feedback is always welcome. Try to keep the conversations IN the threads for each specific mod (helpful to the next guy looking for answers!).

    Thanks as always!

    posted a message on Looking For A Guide Book

    Summary:

    Malware is only an issue if you go through the play store to get your mods.

    Mods are NOT hard to install. My kids are 6 and 7, they can both install them without issue.

    If you use MCPE Master, with one click, you can install and use mods.

    As a parent, I can tell you that any general book on Minecraft will be fine. If you are looking for one on mods, you will be out of luck. However, most mods have great write-ups that you and your child can read and learn about the mod. For instance, any of my Super Something Something 2000 mods will explain how to use the mod, the item ids (for anyone that wants to cheat them in), as well as for my more complex mods, I put a video tutorial together that SHOWS how to use the mod.

    There are 3 programs that allow you to MOD Minecraft. Block Launcher, MCPE Master, Toolbox (by MrArm). Those 3 are available from the play store and are malware free. They are the tool you need to use to inject the mod into the game.

    As for what TheUnpaidIntern said, if you install the mods using something like MCPE Master (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.groundhog.mcpemaster) in the play store, there is less of a chance of malware, personally I would say 0%, however I cannot obviously say that! Probably 99%+ of the malware comes from the installers that are on the play store, not the mods themselves. Also, those same poor installers typically use mods WITHOUT permission of the authors (ask me how I know), so they use the content created to bait people to install their malware. There are good installers, there are good relationships, but more often I would say that is not the case.

    Aside from mods, MCPE Master also allows EASY install of skins, maps, and in general news of what is going on with stuff.

    Even without the MCPE Master program, I do not think they are hard to install. I would guide you to MCPEDL.com. I know the webmaster. He is a really great guy and he tests EVERYTHING that goes on that site. You can rest assured that there is no malware in there. he has a really high quality level that a mod / map / etc. must meet. If he cannot get the mod to work, he will generally contact the author to figure out why. Then he will NOTE it on the description page for the mod.

    He also has some good guides on HOW to install and work with everything on the site (mods, maps, add-ons, etc.). For instance, here are the Android instructions for working with Offical (unmodded Monecraft) Add-Ons, mods (using Block Launcher) - as well as Video Guides at the very end.

    http://mcpedl.com/how-to-install-minecraft-pe-mods-for-android/

    So, if you are worried about malware, mcpedl.com or even directly from this forum. The authors more often than not are willing to assist as most of us are NOT doing this for money. We are doing it as we feel the mod we make gives a unique twist to the game and we want everyone to have fun! Personally, it is how I connect to my kids. We make the mods together. Then I polish them up and release them for public consumption.

    If you do twitter, you can contact most of the authors or even the webmaster for mcpedl.com.

    There are also MANY good YouTubers that have instructional videos as well as good reviews of most of the higher quality / catchier mods. FOr instance, for MODS, Fuziondroid is a great YouTuber. He does a LOT of mod reviews.

    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnPf9f-yQidQA6ByWVkbHVw

    http://www.fuziondroid.com/ (although that does not look updated in a while)

    Here are two of his videos, one on how to install mods using Block Launcher, the other installing Add-Ons.

    Here is a review he did on a mod I made:

    (over 18K views as of this point in time)

    I'm also not sure most track downloads, but I know quite a few of my mods have over 4000 downloads worldwide. I think I've only had 3-4 people have issues with the mods. To me, that means that these are pretty easy to download and use.

    If you have more questions, please ask. I'll subscribe to this thread and I'll get notified. I hope I've been helpful!

    Thanks for the kind words. I'm mostly looking for a way to track downloads. I do not care to earn $$ on any of this. I already have a job. ;-)

    Can TinyURL give # of clicks? I really use this information, I've been VERY surprised about what mods were most popular and that helps me direct my time to the best mods - or to maybe correct issues on mods that are not as popular.

    I've been told that MediaFire itself can track. I just have to sit down and spend some time moving things over. I have all the files ready, I just have to put the links into the threads. Sorry it is taking so long!

    This is a bit frustrating, apparently MediaFire is seen as a bad site when using a goo.gl URL Shortener. I guess I've got to work something else out now.

    posted a message on How do I create commands

    oh, and you wanted to have commands to start, etc.

    Remember to add ; to your code. It makes it more readable :-)

    JS is a bit lazy with this, but you shouldn't be!

    Change:

    var count = 0
    function modTick()
    {
    {
    count++
    }
    if(count == 20)
    {

    To: (also, I removed the extra { }. not needed...java is interpreted, so more text is bad and slower)

    var count = 0;
    var run = false;
    function modTick()
    {

    if(run)
    count++;
    else
    return;

    if(count == 20)
    {

    ------------------------------------------------

    Then as Saccy701 pointed out (I copied this from above and added the else cases),

    //Make sure you don't put in cmd == "/start" because ingame youll have to put in "//start"

    //The "cmd" is the command typed in, as in "/start" :

    function procCmd(cmd) {
    if (cmd == "start") {
    run = true;
    }
    else if (cmd == "stop") {
    run = false;
    count = 0;
    }
    else if (cmd == "help") {
    // add print statements or whatever you want to happen when help is typed

    }
    }

    Saccy701, that code will work fine. The var definition is a global...so it will do what is expected. Not well, but it will work. modTick() is a loop. It happens @ 20Hz.

    I will suggest that you change that string of ifs to one IF and else if on everything else. Otherwise you are checking ALL of those on EVERY tick. Not good coding.

    Personally, I would change it to a switch case, probably the MOST efficient way to code that as you have it, but yet being a bit lazy with working out the code.

    If you wanted to get REALLY fancy, you can put all of your responses into an array. Then use math to determine if you need to increment the array pointer and say something.

    As you have it written, mod 20 (modulus) will do well.
