You can't compete in the challenge, you mixed the pallette!

Andyways, I am dropping out, everything I made looked awful.

Oh, haha, I'm not competing. I am just making a pack. (Like Dragon's Dance)

Here is what I've done so far. It's a 32x pack.

The 1x thing is prety legit. It makes my game look like crap.

Mostly, it is hard to get a good looking simple pack though.

    Not when you do them.
EDIT: No more post restrictions! I will celebrate with a bottle of pixelated wine.

I made time, and I am doing this! Simple pack ftw!

Haha, simple packs. Do you always do that?

    Wow, great textures, everyone!
    Rule change:
You may add 2 (two) colors to the challenge, but you must use them in at least 8 (eight) blocks each. (Not necessarily together.) They also must be under Saturation 17.

    Good luck choosing. >: ]

EDIT: for wool, try and shade using different combinations of colors, to give the illusion of different colors.

That is a really interesting pallete. *saves to hard drive*

Thank you. It reminds me of purgation after death.

Now, that... That is a good challenge palette.
Surreal packs incoming, assuming people join.
I shall consider this challenge, and, presumably, not finish it, regardless.

EDIT: Woah, there's grays in the middle!

Thank you. I am sure the deadline will be extended as it usually is with challenges.

Since the other challenge I put forth has been rejected, I now offer you all the Darkness Challenge. This uses dark colors and low saturation to provide an air of mustinold and strangelity.

    The palette:

    The rules:
Only use pixel art, so no using brushes to blend colors.
You must complete the entire terrain.png. Nothing else is required.
    The deadline is August 24th.
On that date, a poll will be held. Your submission to the poll will require the terrein, and exactly three screenshots showing off the pack.

Godspeed to all you toiling workers.

Is anyone doing the contest? This is not the Ironfeathers Identity discussion thread, it is a texture challenge.

What is going on with this thread?!

Everyone is arguing about me, instead of doing the challenge. I don't mind, per say, but it is rather annoying. You are a great texture artist, and you would have a good chance, if you're feeling up to it.

@Everyone cirpon's 3rd assumption is correct. Troll I am not.

    I looked at Steel's profile:
    Interests:

Art, writing, reading, ghost hunting, skittles, bad jokes

    And Iron's:

    Interests:

pixel art, fighting, trolling, deer hunting, m&ms, jokes

    Compare the two.

What is your point? We have similar interests. Also, do you know how to remove that blue stuff from behind copied forum text?

Wait, what? Ironfeathers??? You copy-pasted the MS Paint Colour Challenge, you haven't even changed the end date.
    ---
    I guess you're trolling.

Actually, I did change the end date. It is August 24th. If you want to enter you can. This is a legitimate contest.

I call troll. I wonder if the person who's making this challenge was a contestant in the original one...?
It's already been done man; also, adding more colors make this challenge easier, not harder.

No, I did not compete. Congratulations to you for winning the NES challenge.
Also, the new colors may be even harder to work with.

If you've ever tried to make a texture pack, you likely know the golden rule:

    Never, ever, use MS paint.

It is now time, with the second MS Paint color challenge, to make the absolute best texture pack you can, using only the extended default colors of MS Paint.

Are you ready to claim the top spot as the master of crappy Windows 95 color? Then read the rules and how to enter!

    Rules:
    • You CAN use photoshop/gimp/PDN or whatever image software you use to make your pack. MS paint doesn't support transparency.
    • Use only the colors given in the extended default MS palette (below).
    • You may only use pixel art, in the spirit of the first challenge, which means LEARN TO DITHER. You cannot use brushes or Anti-aliasing unless it is still in the palette.
    • Complete the entire Terrain.png. Things like old chest blocks and sponge are optional
    • All resolutions are accepted. 16x, 32x, 64x, 128x(crazy)
    • No time limit, but all entries are due on Wednesday, August 24.
    The Color Palette:

    How to Enter:
    • If you want to enter, post so in this thread, and show us screenshots of your progress! Texture pictures work as well.
    • Submit your terrain.png (enlarged as to be easy to see) as well as at exactly 3 screenshots before 11:59pm on August 24.
    Judging/Prizes:

Judging will be open to the public, with a poll that goes for a week, and at the end, the winner gets a shiny badge and the amazing 'dows 95 braggin' rights.
