    Hello Ironclad,

First, i'd like to thank you for your elevator mod that is absolutely fabulous. I was following this post for long to see if you would take it in hand again and i found Eurymachus who ported your mod to 1.2.5 and to bukkit version. So if you want someone to help you keeping your project alive, perhaps should you contact him. Here's the link where i found him first.

I send you regards from Belgium.

Thanks for the recommendation. As a matter of fact, Eurymachus has already agreed to take over Elevators. This makes sense since he was previously trying to help me with some debugging.

More details to come on that later.

I might reccomend Grim(who maintains many other mods as well), for the Dynamic Elevators. I already let him know that it looked like you might not be updating soon.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll contact him if he doesn't contact me in the next day or so.

Hey guys, sorry about all of the waiting that you've been having to do. Just to let you guys know, I am still alive. However, I've been incredibly busy with my senior year of college and haven't had a whole lot of time to work on minecraft mods. I may resume work at some point, but until then it looks like I'm going to need someone to take over for me for a while. I should have made this decision earlier but I hate handing my personal projects over to other people.

So if you are a modder or know a modder that might want to update and/or modify any of my mods, please let me know. I'll be willing to hand the projects (including latest sources) to anyone interested.

Again, sorry about the wait. Hopefully together we can find someone with a little more time for modding work so these mods can get updated again.

Hmm...Can you make some "Snapshot" version of Dynamic Elevators for us? With all of bugs? So people who watched the video would be able to try it - with bugs or not, and then wait for the next, stable version?

Thanks for your work. Hope you will continue doing nice mods.

Sure I can do that. The primary two bugs right now are 1. elevator riders sometimes get stuck on elevators after they finish traveling up and 2. elevator riders receive fall damage while elevators are going down (riders don't currently stick to elevators during descent very well)

def some big changes going on just had a gander at the code after a few months if i was to start a new mod i would be lost i think lol

Yeah I know it's been crazy. I feel like I'm practically relearning modding... again. Forge has been changing the format for everything over and over again. Hopefully this time around they found something that'll stick for a little while at least.

you know, you're one of the best modders out there. 1 your mods are great and very unique and creative. 2 you actually tell the people who use your mods what's going on you don't just disappear for months on end leaving us without any idea of how the mods are coming or if they're even being updated. you're ****ing awesome keep up the great work and take your time updating man.

I got a little misty eyed reading that :Sheep: Thanks! I just hope I can figure out this bug fix for you guys.

By the way, does anyone know how the zeppelin mod is faring with the new update? I'm pretty sure that mod never had an SMP release for similar problems as I've been having and I'm wondering if the mod author's managed to figure those out for 1.3.2 yet. (I'd check myself but I'm lazy.)

Edit: I almost forgot! I've been updating my other mods in parallel with trying to figure out how to fix Elevators, so those will actually be up soon. I know not as many of you use the ones besides DE but I still want to get them up so I can say I've updated at least some of them. Expect those within the next few days.

Beringtom: Thanks for the detailed bug report. I think I've received similar reports in the past. I'll look into the cause of this bug and try to fix it in the next release

Everybody: I have some good news and some not quite as good news! The good news is that I've finished updating Dynamic Elevators 1.6 to work with the current version of Minecraft and Forge. The not quite as good news is that, with the recent changes to singleplayer, the bug where players vibrated (sometimes violently) on elevators that previously only existed in multiplayer is now present in singleplayer as well.

In short, this means that Dynamic Elevators is going to need some more bug fixes before its actually ready for release. Since Eurymachus expressed interest in helping me out, I'll be talking with him on how to solve this problem too. Thank you all for your continued patience! I can't wait to finally get the next version of this mod out!

    Hey ironclad!
I sent you a message previously regarding SMP elevators. I've been able to get them working with forge, and have been using them on my personal server with a friend. All seems excellent, and all mods are working alongside elevators. Additionally I've been able to modify the config file so that changes are persistent (I currently have my block IDs 2014-2016) It works pretty well sofar, so let me know if you're interested in working together.

The network code I've added along with mod set-up has drastically changed from your code only the core elements remain the same. (Block, Item and Entity classes).

Would really like to assist you in getting the elevators mod up and running for SMP with full compatibility with the larger content mods (i.e. requiring forge smp)

    Hit me up soon.
    E.

Hey, sorry about not responding to your previous message. I've been busy lately and haven't been keeping up with thread posts. I'm glad to hear you got Dynamic Elevators working! I'd definitely be interested in working together and taking a look at the changes you've made. Let me know how you want to work that out,

By the way, in the future could you PM me instead? I'm much more likely to respond to private messages,

Oh and has anyone heard anything about Forge updating for 1.3.1?

Hey everybody, sorry for my absence on this thread lately. I've been busy with my internship and haven't had much time or energy to work on modding.

Just so you guys know, I am planning on continuing to update these mods when I get the time, and I should be able to release an update for 1.3 fairly soon (within the next week or two). Hopefully I can add a few bug fixes too since I see there have been some issues with floor naming in Dynamic Elevators.

I'm feeling optimistic about the Dynamic Elevators server - I hear the 1.3 release added some relevant bug fixes for multiplayer that might make it much easier to get elevators working on SMP again.

Is the elevator meant to stop at the Elevator Caller block instead of the actual floor? I dont want to build the Elevator caller in the floor.

The purpose of the elevator caller block is to bring elevators level with themselves, yes. If you want the elevator to stop at the actual floor, you either need to use buttons or have the caller block on the same level as the rest of the floor.

For some reason the 1.6 version of the Elevator mod is refusing to read the new block ID's I put into the config. Instead it is makes the config I made my changes to a .bak file and creating a new config which conflicts with something in RedPower.

    Help?

It looks like my method for configuration files will no longer work with newer versions of Forge. I'm going to try to update that when I get some time. Seems like I just can't keep up with the Forge updates lately.

Ok, mod downloads should be fixed for now. DE SMP is still being difficult but I think I have an idea of how to fix it now. Let me know if any more problems come up with the download links!

Hey guys, sorry about this. Looks like the fileden hosting site is down again, so you may not be able to download the mods for a little while. If it's still down later tonight I'm going to switch the files over to another site.

Elitekiller500's helped me out with Dynamic Elevators SMP and it looks like we have a usable version of the server mod. I'm just going to double check it later tonight before I upload it.

To all of my fellow Americans, happy Fourth of July! To everybody else, happy Wednesday!

Did you gave permission to this one?

I'm not sure what that was since it seems to have been removed, but if it was a rip off of mine, no, I did not give permission to anyone.

Hopefully the fact that that link is down means it's been removed.

Thanks for watching out for me guys =) I really appreciate it.

In other news, elitekiller500 has offered to help me out with SMP coding for Dynamic Elevators. Hopefully with his help SMP DE will be ready for release soon.

The elevator mod is really awesome. Thanks.
But i have one problem with the caller button.

When i put the button above the door, it works. But i cant get it to work if i put the button between the doors.
I have seen this setup in your instruction video and it should work. Where is the mistake?

That may be a bug. I'll look into it as soon as I can and let you know if I figure anything out.

    Quote from SpAcE_mOnKeY126

found a bug with the sponges, where if you place the sponge somewhere but it doesnt take away the water flow at the end, then once you destroy the sponge to get it back, it will create new water source blocks, same with lava

Thanks for the bug report. I think I know of an easy way to fix that - I'll try it out and upload the update if it works.

I wasn't aware of that update to Forge since I've been away for about a week, but I'll try using the latest version of Forge in my next release of the mod. There's nothing about the mod itself that would limit the block ID to 255 if Forge expanded the number of possible block IDs. Maybe its some sort of backwards compatibility issue with Forge itself?

Sorry about the continued delays. I've been pretty busy with work lately, and I'm currently on a week long business trip.

I'm eager to get the SMP version of D.E. working, but I haven't been able to work out the serious bugs that it currently has yet. To this end, I'm considering either posting the current Dynamic Elevators source code or trying to find a second modder that would be able to help me out with the SMP version of the mod. If any of you reading this would be interested in helping me out with the SMP code, or know someone who would be able to help me out, let me know (either on this thread, in a private message, or in an email).
