Do you have ANYTHING in between one of your bookshelves and the enchanting table? Even something like a pressure plate messes up that book shelf and puts you at 29 instead of 30, thus stopping you at a max of L48 enchantments.
nope. not a thing. and i'm even standing as far outside the doorway as i can so i'm not in the way.
I finally hit L50 to get the highest level enchant, and am stuck clicking, and clicking, and clicking, and clicking, and clicking trying to get a L50 enchant to pop up in my enchanting table.
Please add one variable, a loop to check the players current level, another nestled loop to check # of unobstructed bookshelves present, and a back and forward button on the enchantment book so we can choose our enchantment level.
not only is this such a simple solution, you don't get Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Honestly, I don't think it was intended to be this hard. If it was, enchanting is just fail. plain and simple.
running edit:
-L50 enchant found and screenshot on page 2.
-several hours and over 5000 clicks to get it to show up.
-still only saw a L49 once through the whole process.

7. Most likely a lighting issue place a torch every 5 - 7 spaces or so and itll solve the issue (Glowstone can be used so you dont have anything sticking out
Any other qeustions just ask someone will be glad to help
every 7 is what i do for a straight tunnel, but if you're doing it every 7 in a grid to light up an area, that leaves one square in the middle with a light rating of 7. it's very rare, but monsters do spawn there. to avoid this, make jack-o-lanters and place them every 7th square for your grid, since they create a light rating of 15 (one more than torches).
1. each monster has their own specific noise
2. bedrock is the bottom. it is different from obsidian.
3. diamonds generally found between 10th and 16th layer above the top layer of bedrock
4. you probably found a monster spawner
5. you do not need to make a portal to go to the nether unless you want to use potions.
6. endermen spawn just like other monsters.
7. monsters spawn when light source is 7 or below. a torch generates a 14 light rating and it goes down 1 every square you move away from it.
8. if you want the latest version, look in these forums under news and announcements, you can find 1.9 pre release 4 already.
does this mean that those with 1.9 pre 4 are safe to start a new server and it will auto update when official releases? or are there too many changes with the official release that a server admin would have to delete the server in a month and start over?
First of all, 1.9 hasn't even released yet - so calm down.
1.0 is just a name, unlike 1.9, which as meaning to it.
Not much is known about all of the Minecraft release game details, so let's all just shut up and wait, shall we?
i can't tell you enough how helpful that was. thank you for your staggeringly intelligent insight.

you're obviously not the audience i'm trying to reach. if you were, this super helpful post would be enough.
let me rephrase for the crowd that's on crack, like our friend here, who added absolutely no beneficial information at all.
does anyone know of any info they heard from irc, tweets, posts, news releases, etc... that suggests that this code freeze would be a safe place to start a new server, and that 1.0 official would just add content on the fly, or would it render all 1.9 pre 4's useless, essentially making people delete and start over to take advantage of the new content. i dont have every waking second to devote to minecraft, as much as i want to.
the audience i'm looking for is someone who may have heard something that would answer this. the audience i'm not looking for are the uninformed.
i have a group of 9 people that are hounding me to start up our server. some of them seem to think that with the code freeze, nothing major will change between now and 1.0 official and the server will just update with the new code fixes.
i seem to think that between now and a month from now when 1.0 official releases, i'll have to delete and start the server over again to gain access to the 1.0 bug fixes, updates, etc. and that would be worse if true.
doesn't anyone know if it's safe to start it now, or should i wait until 1.0 releases so that we dont have to delete and start over?
to add to this topic, i dont think it's a good idea because you've just suggested an airplane. i dont think flying devices have any place in minecraft, at least for me.
i like the idea of adding huntable animals in the game. i dont like the idea of not having domestic animals not spawn anymore. maybe since they can be bred once captured (i.e. you also don't have to give animals commands to follow, that's what wheat is for), their spawn rate can be nerfed.
the benefits of deer or boar meat? more hearts food bars/energy bars are filled when you eat the cooked version because they're harder to come by.
i like the idea. there is nothing wrong with having more food. i believe it adds the ability to customize each individuals minecraft experience, whatever that may be.

Elder Scrolls franchise went sour after Morrowind. I'm surprised Bethesda is still holding on to it so tightly :tongue.gif:
never played oblivion i see. its like night and day compared to morrowcrap.
publicity is publicity. negative or positive. zenimax is genius for tapping into the minecraft market to freely promote skyrim to 3+ million people a month before release.
if they could sue blizzard, they'd do it. and now would be the time.

this is an example of the audience i'm not looking for. you know exactly what i mean and don't pretend you don't.

at the command prompt (in dos) type ipconfig
you're looking for the ip address or ipv4 address
