Idk where you see complaining. This is a SUGGESTION thread. This whole section is for SUGGESTIONS.
If you want to whine to people then go to the 1.9/1.8 discussion section.
not whining friend. im formally disagreeing with the original post and trying to make intelligent posts to support my reasoning. it doesn't say anything in the suggestion rules that you can't disagree with the original post as long as you have supporting reasons, which i have. in the last post, i simply pointed out the obvious.
dont be mad bro. be intelligent and add your thoughts, whether you agree or disagree.
i still don't see a problem with the current variety. there are three types of trees each capable of generating tons of different possible looks and sizes.
i hate to put you in a catch-22 but were there any complaints about tree variety when there was only one type of tree? if yes, then this has already been suggested and is a duplicate post. it should be moved and merged with the original one. if no, then people are complaining about something that they were given more of.
I wonder why "yes" is winning on the poll. Maybe the community doesn't like to work and want overly easy things.
friend, i have absolutely nothing against you at all. the way that i do business in these forums, to stay on topic, is to read the original post and comment directly on it without reading any of the other garbage (which is about 9/10 of the posts), or commenting on someone that has commented on a post i made.
you should actually be happy that someone agrees with you so closely if my post is identical to yours. bravo to you, +1, and here's a cookie... well a steak anyway
and yes, i did read your post. very thoroughly. your grammer was way off on some parts (i figured it was your age, not that its a bad thing but there are a lot of young posters here) so some parts i didn't fully understand and had to try to figure out what you meant.
To add a suggestion: i dont think you should be able to pick up a monster spawner under any circumstance. if you fully read my post, you would have gathered that.
That second point is a bit backwards. Higher yield per tree means less need to be cut down to achieve the same amount; ergo, a lesser strain on the ecosystem.
no, you actually made my point. if you're cutting trees, there should be more strain on the ecosystem.
btw, red text? join the black text club please and use colors for emphasis on points. red is hard to read and may not be taken seriously. we're all on equal footing here friend. :smile.gif:
i want coins so bad. it would save me from having to re-assess coal to iron to redstone to wheat to diamond to steak ratios every time something new came out.
Oh let me spend days making trees around the mc world :sleep.gif:
I'm not going to waste my time manually making trees.
I'm not talking about trees in a town or my area. I mean randomly generated trees that are common throughout the whole world.
I've been playing mc since the first survival mode....I have never see trees that big. Nor have i seen someone make a post saying they found a natural tree that big.
first, people waste more time manually making their houses. what about people that make tree houses? your argument is invalid.
second, trees that randomly generate that large are too overpowered. you shouldn't be able to get that much wood, just out of one tree, without severely damaging an eco-system (i.e. biome). it forces players to be responsible and replant everything they have cut down, or face a wasteland of grass.
3rd, i never said they were that big. i'm saying it was close. and i seriously mean close. i dont think (source?) that the current biome code would allow for trees to be that big, but before the biome code change, i did run into a tree that was, no joke, 35 blocks high and almost as wide. i have been running a 9 person server since alpha, updating etc etc, and had multiple people see it. we all called it the "King Tree" because we never saw anything like it. Too bad we didn't take a screen shot. it would be perfect for this post. but we cant take screenshots of every little thing now can we? and for that i apologize. but im sure others have seen trees as large.
The enderplant is what happens when a plant grows around a enderpearl. It makes a disruption field that causes the surrounding area to transform into the original plants home. This gives it a interesting use as you can turn your frozen home into a beach paradise, Turn your land into hell on earth, or make your land dark and gloomy. their are tons of things this can do.
Here are the different plant types and there effect. Note: the enderplant effect only goes of 8 block radius and No enderplants power can over lap one that has already been placed.
With this The enderplant turns the surrounding grass into Mycelium, grass Into red mushrooms, flowers into brown mushrooms, and turn trees into large mushrooms.
Note: Can turn Cows into Mooshroom if they stay in to long.
With this enderplant Dirt turns to soul sand, Stone turns to netherrack, redstone/gold turns to Glowstone, and destroys ice and snow. It also evaporates water. Note: Be warned that during noon and morning Blaze's will spawn around the plant.
This enderplant kills grass and absorbs light destroying torches and other light sources, It freezes water and at night becomes a endermen spawner. It is also the only one that can change weather creating a constant fall of snow when in the sun.
Note:The snow made by this is fake. Braking it wont make snowballs.
It turns dirt into sand, stone into sandstone, and destroys all snow and ice.
Turns soulsand into dirt, sand into dirt, mushrooms into flowers, Giant mushrooms into trees, and Netherwart into grass.
Wild Enderplant
A extremely rare plant that lives in total darkness. It looks a lot like a tree in fall. Leaves from this plant will have small orange pixel things falling from them making them a wonderful decoration. The wood from this tree can make 8 planks instead of just 4 and it can burn for longer periods of time. If you however brake the heart of the tree the entire thing sorta dies making it so you can't use the rest of the materials you haven't collected from it. Note the heart is a random peace of wood that looks exactly like the rest of them.
Warning:this plant seems to call out to silverfish for unknown reasons so be careful when mining near one.
Im not truly done yet I still have some editing to do but post and say what you think of it so far.
currently the way you have it, it is too overpowered. but i think you're on to something very special here.
1. Portabella is insanely overpowered. find one diamond and you have unlimited food with literally no "food work" whatsoever, except to find the diamond which is not related to the growth and harvesting of food in any way.
2. RFlower: nether items should stay in the nether and only come into the real world through player intervention, i.e. their backpack, not natural growth.
3. Orange is insanely overpowered too. can be used for an enderman mob grinder.
4. Lime - this is the part of your post that i believe you truely have a gem and are going in the right direction. this is absolutely awesome and can be used to spring up a pyramid or some much needed glass (by sand) in an otherwise wet environment.
5. YFlower: why would anyone want to ruin the super rare mushroom island by turning it all into abundant resources you find pretty much everywhere else?
6. Wild Enderplant: where would this grow exactly? maybe the only place this could literally 'fit' would be inside an underground ravine with no lava present (total darkness right?). this would be super rare in its own right. this is another idea i believe you are on the right track and may have something.
Since we are talking about traps, why not traps with a timer to activate? You enter in an abandoned mine, step in a pressure plate... and start listening to the water, coming apparently through nowhere. The noise is getting stronger, so you have a measure of how long you have to do something or get screwed by a sudden inundation...
or lava... you see the sudden light, but dont know where its coming from
I know, but I just think that this would make it easier to do.
modding, in any game, is a function outside of the bounds of the company that made the game. you do so at your own risk so .jar switching should be done by the modder or user of the mod, not the game modifying itself around the mod.
does this mean that those with 1.9 pre 4 are safe to start a new server and it will auto update when official releases? or are there too many changes with the official release that a server admin would have to delete the server in a month and start over?
Elder Scrolls franchise went sour after Morrowind. I'm surprised Bethesda is still holding on to it so tightly :tongue.gif:
never played oblivion i see. its like night and day compared to morrowcrap.
publicity is publicity. negative or positive. zenimax is genius for tapping into the minecraft market to freely promote skyrim to 3+ million people a month before release.
if they could sue blizzard, they'd do it. and now would be the time.

now you're talking.
i was in disagreement of the OP for booby traps. but if theres a temple or other(biome?) created for just that, it would fit nicely.
it might even go well with the shipwreck biome (another mega-post). ever see the goonies?

and for that, you get a cape. thats something that a minecraft 1.0 player wont have.
and you're still unsatisfied, im sure.

or lava... you see the sudden light, but dont know where its coming from
oh no its on your head!

maybe letting alphas choose their cape from a palette of different colors, textures, etc, and just throwing a general crappy cape to betas.
sorry betas, you knew minecraft existed and chose to wait. not our fault.
