    1) Does the content being submitted contain programming and or data files? --Mapping/Modding
    2) Does the content being submitted solely contain PNGs? --Textures Section

    The texture packs should go in a skinning sub-forum imo. ;o

    Have you tried slowing it down?
    The current speed works great if the user is paying attention. (not going full speed ahead 100% of the time)

    I don't the the majority of the people on my server can be trusted with the current full-speed capability though. ;D

    Before when it crashed I didn't get an MC crash dump. (the only fix was to stop the java process in the task viewer)

    Looks like it with the update the game doesn't crash But.. Now I spazz out if I stop on a void chunk. D:
    The ground generates around the boat and I'm locked underground. The only fix is to exit/re-log in.
    /home and /tp don't stop the spazzage.

    Even with the bug, Your mod is Amazing!

    Do you mean locking up or an actual crash? If it's locking up, I'm aware and I thought I fixed that bug.

    If a crash, \/O_o\/.

    I can make a slower version if needed.

    A slower version would be Amazing!
    This mod sort of scares me in it's current state XD
    Lots of potential for octopus maps. (not that random people exploring to a crazy extend is un-fixable. I can always delete map chunks with the map deleter app.)

    it appears that 1/3-1/2 speed is the fastest that the server can keep up with. ;o
    Anything faster has a tendency to crash your client.

    Not just torches: everything
    The game's engine is based on the fact that everything is 1x1. (this includes doors, fences, and half-blocks --image/interaction tricks)

    Half blocks aren't really 1/2 block tall. They're full blocks with half transparency. The reason you can walk on them is because Notch coded the character's interaction with them to have a -.5 z-axis offset.

    The only way to fulfill your request would be to create/add a new object. :sad.gif:
    The new object would be a half-step with torch lighting attributes and a torch's image. If a player were to place a torch, the half step would then be replaced by said new object. (much the same as the transition from half-step to full step)

    I'm pretty sure that adding new objects is a major pain though. ;o
    To date, I think one person has succeeded. (red-wire sensor)

    The best that someone could do is to allow free floating torches to be deployed above half-blocks.

    Install it using the HD texture pack fix.
    Otherwise you'll have to edit a few CLASS files to allocate more memory to textures.

    A PNG is a PNG. There's nothing special about this one that will crash MC.

    Nurio's 64x64 splotchcraft texture pack is my ideal. ;o

    Sharp textures yet still simple.
    It embraces the pixel/the fact that MC is a low res game rather than trying to make the textures look like they have more pixels than they do.

    Simple=better imo
