    Not the rar, the jar. You open the jar with winrar, and drag the classes out of the zip and into the jar.

    "Error: The archive is corrupt" I got this when I opened the ZIP file in winrar and the .jar file. Then I dragged a class file from the ZIP into the .JAR and got that error. I also tried an unzipped version of it but it didn't work.

    Have you attempted to download a fresh copy of the file? Also, exactly which one does this error come up for when opening?

    Is there any way I can set up fling to make new files instead of overwriting the old? I'm using it to copy the map of the world to a backup folder whenever it's updated, and I'd like to make a time-lapse some day
    Im in the same boat and would like an answer to this question as well. :smile.gif:

    You can append the current date to the end of the filename in the batch file. This will give each file a unique name and give them a chronological order

    Change:
    FOR /F "delims== tokens=2" %%a IN ('FINDSTR /B "•Final Image Name" Cartograph-Timer.config') DO SET OutNam=%%a

    To:
    FOR /F "delims== tokens=2" %%a IN ('FINDSTR /B "•Final Image Name" Cartograph-Timer.config') DO SET OutNam=%%a-%date:~10,4%-%date:~4,2%-%date:~7,2%

    This will output the filename as "mymap-2010-09-25" with the default name and ext in the config.

    Unless you are actually planning on selling server instances that is about 50x overkill. We could give you a better idea of what you need or can do if you tell us your intentions.

    I apologize, I'm not in front of my server at the moment and mis-spoke a bit. You have move the classes from hey0's mod .jar into the default minecraft_server.jar file. This is using winrar or another compression tool to open the .jars and move over the files.

    just to add to this post, hey0 has stated that you don't move Main.class from his Minecraft_Mod.jar
    Also, you can open .jar files as if they were .zip or .rar files, using winrar. You can then move files between two .jar files by selecting them from one, and then click dragging them over to the other window.

    Ah, forgot that part. Thanks!

    Can I get some more clarification on users.txt?

    I only understand that writing furaiz:admins makes me have completely unrestricted powers.

    The comments don't provide clear info on how to add privileges to a player etc.

    Would love it if someone could clear things up a bit for me.

    furaiz:admins is assigning the user furaiz to the admins group. The group permissions are managed in groups.txt ( I believe that's the file ). From this file you can define new groups ( it's comments show the correct syntax ) and their privileges. Once you have the groups defined, you can modify users.txt to assign players to their respective groups.

    This can be done in the interim by simply modifying the launcher to launch hey0's .jar instead of the default.

    Hmm, can you please explain a little better for a noob like me?

    I know at least one person has gotten it set up. The next patch will probably have the functionality to run an arbitrary jar file (like MinecraftMod.jar) instead of the normal minecraft_server.jar. This way, it will be easier to use hey0's mod.

    Im so looking forward to this! Then i have all i need for my server!

    nope. my
    SERVER MOD

    Will never have this feature. It's a server mod, not a server launcher.

    Hey0's integrates quite well with simple server if you know how to configure it ( Simple Server is making this even easier in the next release ) and it has both of these features.

    may i suggest a mysql database?
    actually may i suggest that you and hey0 work together and craft the finest servermod/wrapper combination out there?

    This would be a good way of holding that data and making it easily manageable by other applications. Would really help with the customization capabilities of server admins if more variables and settings were stored externally like this.

    I would recommend it as an option maybe, like hey0's also has the flat file storage. That way it's still quick to implement the wrapper for new users, while keeping the advanced option available.

    Okay, I need to solicit some information from my users and potential users!
    I'm considering redoing the rank system in the following ways. Please provide input on what you like, don't like, and if there is anything missing:
    1) Ranks will become groups. 0 will still be normal player, and -1 will still be guest. Every number above 0 is configurable.
    2) Groups can be named. The name of the group can also be set to display as a "title" for the user.
    3) Group titles can be configured on or off, and the Name format can be changed. IE You could enter something like
    nameFormat=<[%g]%n> and a user's name would appear as <[Admin]SpiegalPwns> or
    nameFormat=%n the %g: and a user's name will appear as SpiegalPwns the Admin:
    4) Commands must be assigned per rank:
    Ie, the new commands-list.txt file would look like
    kick=2,3,4,5
    ban=3,4,5
    Where 2 is mod, 3 is admin, 4 is owner, and 5 is .. some other owner...

    Give me some feedback! : )

    This looks like a really great setup. No complaints here. Can't wait to see the new version come out!
