The way you seem to want it is so only people on your LAN can use it. If so, that's simple.
Just run the minecraft_server.jar on your computer, and give your brother your IP address.
If you don't know how to get you IP address, go to Start > Run type in cmd and hit enter.
Then a window will pop up. Type in ipconfig, and IP Address should be under Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection (or something along those lines).
Use that IP as the server for your brother.
I purchased and downloaded Minecraft for my Mac. I have an account and am able to double-click on the green grass icon to start the game and successfully log in. That all seems good. however, when I want to install a texture pack or a mod, I see all these tutorials instructing me to go to Library/Application Support/minecraft folder.....but, I don't have ANY Minecraft folder there...nothing. Did I install this wrong?..any way to fix this?...does it matter? Help???
You have to have one.
Make sure you go to your home folder/Library/Application Support/Minecraft, it won't be in the System Library folder.
P.S. If you're going to moan about people using OS X or don't have anything to help him, don't say anything. _
I believe this is a problem with some 64-bit optimization in the Minecraft code, changing it to 32-bit seems to work.
Keep in mind that this will make it play slower than normal (well, at least you can play).
If you want to have compatibility (I'm assuming this is the reason you don't want to edit RenderGlobal.java), then you'll (probably) have to look into ASM (or Reflection?) to add your effects.
However, that's just going to be more tedious, IMHO.
Not sure if there are any other ways around this, I don't really mod much.
I'm not sure how you can really prove that Notch really was there, some people are just jealous or something I guess.
But I think it would be more trouble to try and prove that he was there, doesn't seem worth it to me.
Let's not let Notch have any fun programming the game he and his crew make every day just to be bashed by the trolls and the ranters!
Surely Notch and co's life has to be a serious, living hell while they make the game!

LOL. Pretty stupid for the crackers to do that.
Depends on your crack though.
JZ320, what's in your hosts file? Show us.
(Actually, it would be for blocking any AP, etc.)

I would remove the link if I were you.
Not supposed to be distributing the jar on the forums.

You can imagine the results.

Example .bat:
P.S. Not sure if you need to use Xms as opposed to Xmx. If Xmx doesn't work, try it.
