Last time I checked it was compatible. Try now?

Thank you! Don't know if I was just being stupid when I tried it or if it wasn't compatible back then, but so glad to have my favourite minimap (and world map) back!

I have a request, I hope you don't mind me asking! Do you think it would be possible at some point to add a feature that displays the current biome underneath the minimap, and when you hover over a biome in the world map? Literally the only thing I miss from the minimap mod I'd been using to replace this one when I thought it wasn't compatible - yours is my favourite and has been my go-to for probably years - I love how far out the world map zooms, I love the design and options for the minimap, and I love that you can see dropped items. It would make me so happy if this awesome mod also had a feature to display biomes - especially if it included Biomes o' Plenty biomes as well like the one I was using. Please and thank you! :)

Do you have any plans on making this available for Mac? I may be wrong but I think last I checked it wasn't compatible

    Please and thanks!

posted a message on [MAJOR UPDATE: New routes, many new buildings, and more!] Mountain Village in Savanna M Biome

Back again with a massive update! Seeing as Photobucket no longer allows my photos to be viewable, I've taken the opportunity to take a much more updated and relevant series of photos.

Since the last update, I've created two major new routes - a north and south path, yet to be named. These feature a school, a temple of worship, a library, a hospital, and a doctors surgery. I've also added an observatory at the summit of the mountain, and added a food shop and a pub to Acacia Avenue, alongside many more minor aesthetic improvements.

Hope you enjoy it, and as always, feedback and constructive criticism is welcome!

^ Main entrance into the village

^ View of Town Hall, hanging bridge, and bank

    ^ Town Hall

    ^ Post Office and Prison

    ^ Town Centre with Beacon

    ^ Train Station

    ^ Train Station platforms

    ^ Train tracks

    ^ Train tracks

    ^ Hanging cafe

    ^ Housing area

    ^ Farm

    ^ Acacia Avenue

    ^ Food Shop

    ^ Pub

^ Ore Shop (with rear access to mine)

    ^ Enchantment/Magic Shop

    ^ Communal Mine

    ^ North Falls Underpass

    ^ Temple of Worship

    ^ North Falls Academy (school)

    ^ Doctors Surgery and Hospital

^ Staircase leading to End Castle (work in progress)

posted a message on Whatever happened to the Ragecraft Faithful (64x64) thread?

Is this the one you're looking for? Wondering if the thread was renamed as I remembered it being called Ragecraft Faithful but when searching, found this and it appears identical. Hope this is what you're looking for!

For MC 1.6.4, which is the more recent/better version: 1.6.4_L, 1.6.4_HD_U or 1.6.4_HD? Unsure of the differences, would appreciate the help! Thanks for the thread :)

posted a message on So there's good news, and then REALLY concerning news...

Haven't read all of the comments yet so forgive me if this has been mentioned - but bear in mind that PE is only about £5 as opposed to what, nearly £20 for PC? (Not sure of dollars.) Sure maybe PE has sold more copies, but maybe the fact it's a lot cheaper means a lot more people will buy it, not play it a great deal, then forget about it - whereas spending £20 on a game is more of a commitment. A year or two ago I bought Minecraft PE as I'd never played Minecraft before but was interested. After getting into it and reading stuff online about the wonders of the PC version, I made it my priority to get a laptop so I could play Minecraft PC. Within a year of playing PE I got a laptop and PC Minecraft, and now, over a year after buying MCPC I still love it and play pretty much daily. Whereas recently, I've updated MCPE out of curiosity and had a play, I still don't find it close to as good as MCPC. Even if all the features caught up to the PC version, the controls of a PC/laptop make MCPC the pleasure that it is to play. So maybe even though there's more sales of PE, there's still more players of PC if that makes sense? I might be wrong but just a possibility I thought was worth suggesting.

That aside, I do agree that it's pretty bad they're renaming the original Minecraft and making the console versions just "Minecraft". But I think/hope for a large amount of players, Minecraft PC will always remain "Minecraft".

posted a message on New to MC PC - recommendations

Congratulations! As someone who started out playing pocket edition and longing to get a laptop to play the pc version, I can say that you won't regret it! Had the PC version for over a year now and still play pretty much daily.

Most important mod I can recommend is Optifine - by default it significantly improves framerate, and also it adds loads more performance settings plus an option for 32x render distance - even if you don't need the improved framerate it's worth using. From my limited knowledge I doubt that PC will have any trouble with shaders - although I guess it depends on your preferences, I'm happy with anything around 40fps+ whereas I've seen people that are only happy with much higher. However if my laptop with i5 processor, 8gb RAM and the 'dreaded' intel graphics hd 520 can comfortably run a water-only shader pack, I imagine your desktop will have no trouble with full shaderpacks.

I second the Biomes o' Plenty recommendation as well. I also like a mod called Quark that's pretty minimal in comparison but adds various useful things. For navigating I recommend Xaero's minimap and Xaero's world map, which work together or separately. I've always found that with Biomes o Plenty, the default maps don't work properly, so Xaero's world map is a more than adequate stand in.

    Hope you enjoy MCPC!

posted a message on How do you summon the courage/effort/will to rebuild?

Thanks very much for all the replies - especially those of you who suggested trying to improve it instead of just copy it from memory! Decided to go down that route, and although it's all very similar, I've improved on parts and so far so good, I think. Already rebuilt all of the important bits (as far as I can remember at least) to an extent that I'm not too worried about the smaller details, I'm comfortable to do them as I go along knowing I have a rough enough idea of how it did look and how to improve on it.

As for the backups situation - I know I can still make backups in vanilla, but in my modded world I use an autobackup mod that does it every halfan hour or so for me. So I can be really lazy with backing up my vanilla world haha. However as I type I am in the process of doing just that! Thank you :D

(If anyone is interested the latest version will be available through the link in my signature shortly)

posted a message on Why bother with auto-farms?

Maybe it's to do with the satisfaction of building something slightly more complex - although I have yet to build an automatic farm so my opinion probably isn't the most helpful. also as previously mentioned, people use villagers to replant crops.

Minecraft takes about an hour to get boring, even if you use your creativity. They just need to add USEFUL things. Last time they did that was 1.6, adding the horses actually added another thing to do.

Totally disagree with this, I've played for about a year and a half and haven't got bored yet!

    Quote from Strahan202»

Looks fine. Why do you care what other people think? Stuff like this is subjective. You may have one guy saying so-and-so color scheme is God awful whilst another person thinks it's awesome.

If you like it, cool. You have nobody to impress after all.

I dunno, I guess caring what other people think is mostly universal whether we like to admit it or not. I do like it and build for my own satisfaction, but I'm interested to get other points of view on improvements as I enjoy improving my world - if someone suggested something that I didn't like then I obviously wouldn't do it, however with the great variety of building styles and playing styles I figured it was a good idea to ask for opinions and advice to give me inspiration on how I can improve. I like to show off what I've accomplished to the rest of the world, as do many others, and there's nothing wrong with that. Seeking approval is very natural - as is wanting to improve something I'm already pleased with.

Opinions and advice still appreciated, please and thanks!
