Or, they, could get (Associatte) {That's the third donator tier correct?} +. So , if I was once top donator, when someone surpasses me, My rank would be [Associate]+ Bach. And maybe they lose a minor perk for being surpassed.
After listening to the forum discussion, I have decided to make a third donator rank, with some additional in-game money, and some type of mob disguise plugin. It is a fun toy, but not one that every user will find value enough to donate for. For the top donor, they will have the title and place in the train car. I might give them vanish, as that wouldn't be a huge deal to lose if they were dethroned.

If the Top Donator perks were not desirable, why would anyone aspire to have it. I feel that once someone has achieved top donator, they should keep the ranks and the perks. Perks could be /vanish, and creative. Also a sizeable amount of money ($10 Million or so)
Once that person achieves the rank, they keep it. For someone else to get the rank, they have to donate 10 USD more. The person that was surpassed, still keeps the rank, as there can be multiple (Top Donator).
I like the idea more of as a fun event rather than to settle disagreements I feel that the loser of the pvp will not be satisfied and hold the same argument as he/she had to begin with, making the whole thing a mundane process
Very true. I think if disagreements get that serious a staff member should be notified to either moderate it or take action against these players. It's like saying "You guys are arguing, so go kill each other." I don't believe that is very constructive because, as Scip said, the loser will still be angry.
Another option (while I realize that it should not be necessary and is a bit of a hassle) is just to keep your horses in a locked pen wither 2 high fences and a roof so that only you can get in and interact with them. Just food for thought
I was just going to suggest this as well. If they are in an enclosed space that is protected, nobody will be able to hurt them.
The problem with this is, users are not going 100% of the time leave their horses protected. I sure will, but face it, not everyone can adhere to that bayou. When a reliable plugin comes out, I feel it necessary to have it installed. It would really help.
Also, if the horse is used for pvp and killed, what is to stop someone from taking the horse's inventory. That being said, I believe horses should not be able to be used for PvP. It's just too unfair.
P.S. When is the PvP world gonna be re-opened (if it is open now I haven't heard)?
The plugins available right now for horse protection are pretty sketchy, but I'll try a couple out this evening.
A little surprising there are any at all, as Adrian said. 1.6 is so new that I didn't think there would be specified plugins, just yet. My thoughts are to make the donkey chest like a normal chest, being able to add other users and all.
On another note, I am really impressed with the user turnout lately. Mr. Jaz and the staff have been and are doing a great job making Haven enjoyable, fun, and a nice place to be. I've seen the slots nearly filled recently, always a good sign.
P.S.: Aleenahearts, if you're reading this, I still owe you 11k, but won't have it until I finish my build for (Mason).
I think part of the point of /mc was that it was supposed to serve as a poor alternative to flight. If you add a plugin that essentially gives the player flight, you devalue a donation perk for who have it and make donating less appealing to those who don't. Having /mc is definitely a lot better than not having it.
Ideally, jump once, go up one block, jump twice, go up two blocks. My main issue is going down. On MR I built a lot in the end, and when I built platforms and arenas etc. I needed a non buggy way to go down. This could serve that, a poor alternative to flight, but no laggy mc please, I lost 800k plus of stuff in the end due to /mc

One player (ArchmageSam) said he needed /mc or fly to make his pixel art. That started a mini discussion between myself and errer1001 about it. The thing is, inherently /mc would be a bad idea. First /mc is laggy, buggy, difficult to go down , etc.. Second, I as much as anyone want to distance myself and this server from ideas that come from tschagg. Jaz and the staff have done a great job not changing the principle focus, building, but still making this server very unique. So, while thinking, I wondered about a jetpack plugin. It would inherently serve the same purpose as /mc. Hopefully we could find one that was less buggy/laggy. It could be available to Mason's and up, since Architect builds need to be grand, and this jetpack plugin would work. Now, I haven't looked for a plugin like this yet. However, Jaz if you like this idea I think it would be a great addition to our server.
Hey everybody, here to report on how the Hogwarts Express is coming, and just wanted to leave it open to feedback.
If you didn't know, this will be the future "donator area", so I'm still open to ideas on how to display donator's names on the train.
Here's what I've got.
That's two of the train cabins... I'm thinking about having multiple cabins for each donator rank, like the red one is for $+, green is for $.
Hallway of the red cabin.
Here's the compartment for the $+ train, with luggage room, a table, and nice posh carpets.
Donators will have their name proudly displayed above their compartment door, (2 per each), with amount donated.
Here's the interior of the green cabin. This will be for $ donators, and each one will have a seat reserved, rather than a full compartment.
This is how I was thinking their names would be displayed. Again, feel free to add how you think they should be displayed.
And that's the basic design of the Hogwarts Express! Of course, I'll do the front of the train, and have some coal blocks being transported as well, just for the aesthetics. As you can see, I've been using the new carpets and hardened clay with great delight- they truly are great decorative blocks! Thanks in advance for any feedback!
EDIT: For the highest paying donator (sponsor, funder, whatever the "special rank" will be), I think I'll reserve the front of the train just for him/her, just to make it special

I agree with both of you. A separate world is not needed for resource gathering at this point. Honestly, to reiterate Jaz and Scip's point, we NEED to improve server performance. Also, Jaz when will the 1.6 blocks be added to shop?
Question for all of you: I'm toying with the idea of creating a title for the user who has donated the most. I think there could be some good by-products of that - a little competition never hurts. 1) What do we think of the idea? 2) I want the title to mean something and be something that is worth attaining, so what ideas do we have for a perk that would be associated with the title?
Please not automatic staff. Tschagg did that with Poq, he donated like 600 euros and he got mod, as much money as he wanted, etc. I think a reachable perk would be your own island. For example, it's 500 by 500, and only top donator can go there. No one else unless they are staff. Top donator would get creative, WE, etc on that island. Their name would be whatever color they wanted with the Prefix (Top Donator)
They'd also get creative in the other worlds, but not WE for precautions.
Also, Jaz I want to congratulate you on becoming owner. Fluff, I hope your back with us one day, but until then, Jaz will lead us to greatness.
