It really isn't that simple but thanks for the support Plenty of modpacks start life this way, you may see it as part of an offical modpack at some point
It isn't really that complicated, I have also created modpacks. You just setup the modpack files, get the mods, get permission, use dropbox to host the files, put it on the technic site, and there you go, a modpack. (Plus a bit of magic with configs and compatibility checking.)
You could get permission from atleast 90% of those mod creators to put that into an actual Technic modpack. I highly doubt many people will install each mod when you could just make it all into one pack for them. It doesn't even have to be a Technic modpack, you could just put all the mods together into one zip for people to download.
You need to go into much greater detail, but for now here is a LARGE list of mods for several different versions, neatly listed as Forge required, Forge compatible, and Forge incompatible: http://modlist.mcf.li/
First, I would recommend looking up the definitions of mods and Bukkit plugins, and learning the difference. Second, I would ask a Forum Moderator to move this to the proper section.
I still have not found it. I am trying to install Forge and it requires me to have the bin with minecraft.jar in it. 1. Download the latest copy of Minecraft Forge here --> http://www.minecraft.../topic,5.0.html 2. Open your start menu and type in "%appdata%" (without the quotations). 3. You should see a folder named "roaming". Open it, then open the folder named ".minecraft". Stuck HERE---------4. Go to the bin folder, and open the minecraft.jar file with winrar or 7zip. 5. Open the Forge .zip file you downloaded in step 1, and highlight all of the files inside. 6. Drag the files from the Forge .zip into your open minecraft.jar file. Press OK if it asks you if you would like to copy and replace. 7. Look for the folder called "META-INF" in your open minecraft.jar, and delete it (IMPORTANT!) 8. Run minecraft. Forge will create several new folders in your .minecraft folder.

MOD PACK INSTALLATIONing to install Forge.
Oops sorry for writing the same thing twice.
This is how you installed Forge before the new launcher and version system. I will very quickly explain how to install it now:
1. Go to http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the latest Forge version for the Minecraft version you need (Like 1.6.4, 1.7.2, etc.)
Make sure you get the Installer-Win download if you are using windows, or just the Installer if you are using something else.
2. Run the installer jar
3. Click "Install client"
4. Open the Minecraft launcher, make a new profile, and for version you select the Forge version you want to use.
5. Run Minecraft
6. Close Minecraft then install whatever mods you want
7. Profit
After reading the first four pages of this topic (Including the included parts of the Minecraft EULA, along with everything Marc has stated both on this thread and some of his tweets, I believe (Assuming I am understanding this correctly, and please correct me if I'm wrong,) that basically if you do not make any profit in any way you can take all the mod(s) you want, put them in a modpack and redistribute the mod(s), and the creators cannot legally do anything about it. Again, this is purely assumptions made based on what I've read, so please tell me I am wrong if I am, but please have a valid arguement. EDIT: I am not trying to be a jerk, this is purely a question. Do not complain about what a jerk or horrible person I am, I am just trying to make sure I am understanding everything correctly.
First, link you to the dropbox "So you can upload it"? Sounds like someone wants to take the credit for someone else's work. Second, provide me a list of permissions for EVERY mod in that list and I will do it for free, as many updates and minor changes as you want.
