    It usually helps if you wait until the mods have actually been updated to that version of minecraft.
    Right now there's only a handful of 1.7.x mods, doing simple things, because the Minecraft Coders pack for 1.7.x is only on a dev release so far. Once it's released the updates will follow.

    BoP is a world type, not simply biomes. You'll have to start over on a new map and select it in world options.
    Word of warning, BoP is a beast, so if you are still on default RAM size for Minecraft, you'll probably want to increase it.

    Adfly is the equivalent of Twitch or YouTube pre-roll ads. Just make sure to click the skip button in the top right once it appears. Not any other buttons, no matter what they say about downloads - those are the advert.

    Forge is supplied ar a .jar file usually. You run it like you open any file, and it should install itself into the launcher profiles.

    Actually, Mojang effectively control the Minecraft Coder's Pack now, which is what de-obfuscates the code allowing current mods to be created. In addition to the official modding API, which should make simpler mods easier to do/update.

    One possible reason that they continue to obfuscate the code is to make it hard for generic malware to hook into it. It'll not find any useful class names or methods.

    Yes, even more so between 1.6 and 1.7 - trying to add a 1.6 mod to a 1.7 install will almost certianly fail.
    You can sometimes get away with something like a 1.6.2 mod in a 1.6.4 game - less has changed to cause issue.

    You should be able to create a 1.6 game from the launcher.

    I forget how to do it with a bucket but with tanks you can just pipe it into a drain, or pour it from the tank into a drain with the faucet/liquid channels.

    One request/suggestion while you update, if it'll work. Fluid dictionary compatible Sake, etc.
    Because seriously, who hasn't wanted a tankfull of "juice"?

    Also, if you are not replacing the village gen house, there's a cobble slab in the Sandstone version fireplace.

    It's just the NEI part of it. WAILA tells you the Mod it's from too while looking at it, but only in 1.6.x.

    The ore is from MFFS (Modular Force Field System) as the tooltip says, however which one of the two competing versions it is I forget (If you mean the tooltip info, that's either Forge or NEI too). It would help to know which video you were looking at, as Direwolf videos span several versions of Minecraft, and hundreds of mods.

    No doubt you have Biomes o' Plenty in the pack, because that's BoP, not Buildcraft, feature.
    And yes, there is a config option that lets you turn them off. Under miscellanious settings you'll find Enable Puddles During Rain, set it to false.

    If you just want harder mobs then Infernal Mobs will do the trick.
    It's a Forge mod so after installing Forge you just drop the mod jar or zip into a folder.
