You didnt accidentally build it on half blocks did you? Have you tried a three high space? Also, you are sure they are not spawning, rather than spawning, but not falling into the water for some reason?

posted a message on Bedrock "Better Together" Edition Server Bugs and Glitches

My biggest complaint is redstone has different physics than Java. Not only that, but the redstone is buggy and inconsistant. I tried to make a piston elevator, which didnt work. So I experimented for a while, and found that when I apply a redstone pulse to my pistons, it will do one of two different things. It should do the exact same thing everytime. Because of this, a piston elevator (this particular design, anyway) is quite impossible to make. Every large redstone contraption I've tried to make, will not work in bedrock. Im about ready to hang it up....

posted a message on fix the open chests

For some reason, someone decided to remove the ability to pick up stacks and distribute them freely inside open chests, hoppers and dispensers. This screws everything up!

First of all, we like to organize the insides of our chests to our liking. We are now prevented from doing that, and it really sucks!

Secondly, this prevents us from making auto sorting machines. ( I realize there is a tedious workaround to this) That really , REALLY sucks.

Please turn it back to the way it was, and should be. There was NO reason to remove that function. Its damn near game breaking for me.

What they really need to do is enable the manual pickup of stacks in open chests, just like its always been. You can do it in the crafting menu, but not with open chests??

#1 People like to organize the insides of their chests. This system prevents it.

#2 Automated item sorters dont really work. Its damn near game breaking for me. (I realize there is a sort of workaround, but I cant make any of the sorting mechanisms I've always made.)

Blah blah blah. You act like I dont have a right to complain about not being able to build the same machines I did before.

Tell me, why would they take that detail out in the first place? Its still there with the crafting menu... You can right click a stack and move it around and drop items one at a time. Yet, they leave it out of the chest menu... And its a HUGE issue for me, and thousands of others, and I know damn well, they will never implement it.

And they are not two separate games. They're both MINECRAFT. They should only be different where/when necessary. New minecraft has a much better game engine now, but we cant take advantage of it.

Like the old saying, if it aint broke, dont fix it. They fixed the broken stuff, but they kept fixing, and thats why we're all upset. All they needed to do was transfer it over to a new engine, and make it all compatible with each other, not limit our options. Everytime someone tries to improve something, they take away a bunch of the good stuff... "Hey I know. Lets make it so you cant pick up stacks of blocks while a chest or hopper is open. That way, people cant arrange the insides of their chests. And, lets prevent people from making a mod so they still can if they choose." What reason is there to do such a stupid, stupid thing?

how many features are in vanilla minecraft now after starting as a mod? I remember when Pistons were still a mod. Wolves and horses were mods. The End come form the Aether mod. The PLAYERS and MODDERS made minecraft what it is, just as much as the developers.

Im only playing this version cuz of Oculous, cuz you are right about Java version in that the mods break with every update, so I got frustrated and quit. They kept promising a mod API and it never happened. I can kind of deal with the lack of mods, but the control issues may be where I draw the line.

A lot of modders quit updating their mods. Why should they? Java players can play old versions, so there's no reason to put themselves out and update their mod (if they're still around).

The controls aren't "messed up". They work just fine.... but they aren't what you're used to. Contrary to popular belief, Win10/Bedrock was never suppose to be just like the java version (thank goodness).

Sorry, add-ons and resource packs DON'T need to be updated, and to say they do is totally false. I've used the same resource pack for the last 6 updates and it has never needed updating. Now, there was an update (expanded functionality) to add-ons. While most kept right on working... and those that didn't were automatically updated for you so they would continue to work. In other words, you don't have to depend on a modder to do the updating.

Virtually every game, including MC, uses the same formula:
    * Here's the rules.
    * Here's the situation.
    * Do the best you can.

Java MC's are unique in that they totally ignore that formula. To heck with how the developers intend for you to play the game. Rules? Change 'em. Situation? Make your own. Doing your "best" is too hard? Cheat. They think MC is their game to do with whatever they want to with- and they do.
No, Bedrock doesn't have the "versatility" (some call it "creativity") of the java version- on purpose. You actually have to play Mojang's game instead of playing your own game you made up.

The controls ARE messed up. Think Im wrong? Tell me how to open a chest, grab a stack of items and organize them inside a chest. Please explain to me how I can put a single snowball in every single slot in a chest if I want. cuz I NEED this for my item sorter to function. Dont tell me the controls arent messed up, cuz they ARE.

Heres another way the controls are messed up. Go in creative mode , fly and try to make some vertical stacks of chests and hoppers.. You have to press 'sneak' to place a block next to chest, hopper, dropper, or anything else that holds items inside. Now, for some reason, they bound sneak, and fly down to the same button. So, to place a block next to a chest in the air, you press shift, which makes you drop very fast. The only workaround is to press space at the same time, which, in theory, would make you hover, but it doesnt, it makes you fall slowly, so building any elaborate hopper contraptions while flying is EXTREMELY frustrating.

Here. Try to make this item sorter in creative. Not only is it a pain in the ass due to the flying, and block placing bug, but it is literally impossible to make work, because you cant organize the insides of the chests. So no, IM NOT WRONG.

And you're wrong about addons and resource packs too. Every update that adds or changes a block, breaks the resource pack. Same thing with certain mods. I downloaded a bunch of resourse packs that dont work. And the only add on I like, that actually works is the coordinates add on. The mini map add-on is out of date, Ender horse is out of date, lucky drop, and more drops makes my game crash.

And there is NO SUCH THING AS CHEATING with SP minecraft. Its not a "game." It was made to be fully customizable to the limits of your own imagination. The new version totally stifles that vision. You seem to think its a good thing, that Microsoft is making us play how THEY feel we should play. They want to limit us on our control customization, our resource packs. I used to combine three different packs into my own personal pack. I cant do that anymore. Maybe YOU think mods are cheating. The rest of us think they are a way to make the game better. I understand microsoft wanting to make some dough by selling resource packs and stuff, but they dont even have any good ones. However, there is no reason for them to limit us on control customization.

We used to have complete control and freedom, at the expense of an inferior game engine, and other PITA glitches. Now we have a MUCH smoother running game, but they put us on a leash. Newcomers wont understand what theyre missing, however. Like I said, the only reason Im even playing it is because I recently got an occulous. Im gonna get fed up rather quickly not being able to build my contraptions though.

You can try to defend it all you want, but most of us loved the freedom of the old game that isnt there anymore.

See this right here, is a bunch of crap: "No, Bedrock doesn't have the "versatility" (some call it "creativity") of the java version- on purpose. You actually have to play Mojang's game instead of playing your own game you made up"

    Game Nazi much?

Buy the Java version, and you get the windows 10 version for free. Problem solved.

If you've never played minecraft before. you wont know what you're missing with the windows 10 version. I've been playing since the beginning. I quit playing because they never got a mod API working, and my favorite mods werent getting updated.

I just started again, because I got an occulous rift. I cant get vivecraft to work, so Im playing the windows 10 version. THe performance is great. I'll give it that, but its really frustrating that it doesnt have the versatility that Java has. The controls are messed up. As far as addons and resource packs, there are hardly any, and despite what Geneo says, they DO need updated, as there is a resource pack or two, that I like and cant use, and a couple addons that I want to use, but cant.

I just built a huge item sorter, only to find out that it wont ever work, because I cant pick up a stack of items to organize the insides of chests for some stupid reason. If you open the crafting menu, you can pick up a stack and put them down where needed, but you cant do that inside chests. That right there is almost enough to make me abandon the game. And theres no mods for a workaround. Theres a couple simple things they got wrong with the controls that are almost game breaking for me as well.

Basically, the reason minecraft got so popular, is that its so unlimited, and customizable. Windows 10 version is very limited, and barely customizable. But, if you've never played, you wont know what you're missing. A dog thats never been off its leash doesnt realize what he's missing.

If I can get vivecraft to work, Im ditching the windows 10 version.

posted a message on WIN 10 edition: How to organize inside open chests?

Hopefully, Im just missing something, but when I have a chest open, I cant pick up a stack from my inventory and organize inside my chests. It will send send one item or stack to the first open slot. I cant pick up the stack and put the items where I want. Is there some way that Im missing?

First of all, I like to organize my items in the chests, second of all I need to be able to do this for an item sorter to work. What a bunch of crap!

I've been playing minecraft since early alpha. I took a break for several years, and I have an oculous rift now, so my interest is renewed. I cant get Vivecraft to work, so I've been playing the windows 10 version on oculous, and its missing a few key features.

Your join date says 12/21/2014, so it looks to me like you are a noob, and you dont understand what we've been going through and waiting for. BTW, I quit playing over a year and a half ago, for these reasons. I played since alpha, over four years ago, and got really sick of my entire game being broken every three months, and having to spend several hours redoing it, and all the mod makers have to spend countless hours updating, so a lot of them have abandoned ship, (and same with some really good servers who got sick of putting hours into updating after every update). so I cant even get my game where it used to be, without delving into archives of mods for two days. Yeah, they've focused on other things. Other FAR less important things. So yeah, Mojang turned their back on their old school players who basically made this game what it is today. Typical corporate. Every few months I come on here to see if anythings changed, but obviously not. I have a right to complain about this.

It's not like Mojang is forcing us to use the latest version. You can use any version of the game you want.

That has nothing to do with the Mod api. It has everything to do with nothing working after every update, and the good mods have been abandoned, cuz modders got sick of redoing them every three months. I wont play minecraft again, unless it gets one, which sucks, because the minecraft-like games out there just arent as good as minecraft could be. Its total crap, but you wouldnt understand this, having only joined within the last few months. Some of us have been literally waiting for 3-4 YEARS for a mod api that they kept promising to us.
