No. Why pay for DLC if you can download it for free as a mod? Doesn't make sense. But since when has Minecraft made sense? Now it sounds like you're willing to pay a little bit so you don't have to go through the hassle of installing all the mods and things that need them. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is what you're saying. As cool as that would be to have, I don't think it would be practical for them to do it. DLC should be original not some mod. And that concludes my unclear rant!

WEll the issue here is simply installing mods doesnt work on an xbox. Also all the mods for minecraft are all in the PC code. Xbox is writen in a new code soo for the mods to work you need to recode the mods into the xbox format. If 4j did this it could be an expansion pack for free or a small fee. Mostly i want the Yogbox because it has all the best mods. I mostly just want Mo creatures, and the two Engineering mods where you can build machines and things like that Idk what their called because i don't play the PC minecraft.

Well, they would have to get the individual permission of every author of every mod. They csn't just ask the Yogscast for permission. It'd be a lot more complicated than that.

Oh ya i didn't think of that, but since they Okayed the yogBox i bet they would Okay them being transfered to xbox code :D

"DLC with "mods"? I don't think Microsoft would be down for that. "
Well it wouldn't be Mods it would be an expansion pack like in any other game.

I think the first DLC or only DLC should be the YogBox, it has a lot of awesome mods in one hole package and it seems notch likes the yogscast because they had the stage at minecon for like 15 minutes talking about the yogbox. So what do you guys think? Will they make the yogbox a DLC? it sounds reasonable and they could use that as one big code transfer to xbox instead of individual DLC and also YogBox comes with texture packs with it that work with all mods. So what do you guys think?

You dont have a jtag do you, because if you did you would realize that they can't go online right now because of the latest dashboard update.

Also, dont go saying "oh but I gotz d patch" because you don't. Nobody does. I'm pretty sure only like 1 person got through the last dashboard update and he didn't release his patch.

    You sir, are fail.

there is no patch, modding has just been working all this time my freind. ive been running infections all week on cod 4.

I ain't risking my xbox for any mod. Ain't that important.

    Now I'll shut up.

Yes i agree with you xbox saftey is extremely important because there expensive. but you will not get introuble from microsoft if you mod minecraft/add content. but mohjang apritiates mode (i suck at spelling) so they would not ban your xbox. its there game so they ban you. plus they arlready said there going to make a way to let xbox players make mods.

Listen to me kid. The only amounts of modding you can EVER do to a game save via USB are EXTREMELY BASIC! When you mod CoD4 or any other game that Modio allows because I'm going to assume you have no idea how to change the values of a game through its own code. But even with Modio or manually doing it all you are doing is changing values that is it not adding files ect.

YOU CAN NOT JUST ADD A FILE VIA USB! IT WILL NOT WORK.

My god kid you don't know as much as you think you do!

k buddy i have two jtags as well i do the usbs for other people bro. come join some of my 10th lobbies online smart ass. bet you dont even know how to find what motherboard number your xbox is? quite assuming **** over the internet it makes you sound unintelligent

No you wouldn't get banned you would get an error maybe freeze the old Xbox but you would be fine. You people really need to chill on the whole ban thing it takes more then you would think for you to get banned or suspended.

And yes Modio is nothing special either all it does is let you modify the values of the game not add new stuff.

well i mod cod 4 with my usb. i just transfer my profile to the usb and mod the entire game within my profile. its just like adding a file. but cod is more complicated minecraft would be easier to put mods into because it wouldnt be things where you need a whole new menu layout or messing with the button mechanics to work the mods like cod. Mine craft mods would just be like new content almost working as an expansion pack. also i use many diffrent modding softwares modio is just a well known one to noob modders. modi is used to add and delete files from your xbox files.

    Quote from Geneo

    1) Never trust a modder that can't spell or type.
    2) I did a little research into this "modio". You're only doing a very complicated modding on your save. For those who think that you'll be able to do a simple download and apply it like you do the PC mods... you have another think coming.
    3) If you do decide to do this complicate modding yourself (heaven help you!), and if you make just one mistake, it will screw your save up and will lock up your xbox solid.

You got to want a mod very, very bad to risk your xbox and your profile. 99.99% of you couldn't do it.

Oh, and you can only change something, you can't add something. You have to be a an assembly or C++ programmer familiar with the game in order to add any programming to the game. Course, now we're talking about adding things to the game itself- not just changing a thing or two in your save.

Excuse me but do you own 3 xboxes and 2 Xenon Jtags? i dont think so so you can shut up and walk away with your tail inbetween your legs buddy.

Hello, If you have not looked through reec3ty's topic similar to the one i am starting. the problem with his idea is that there will be so many copies and such, also it wouldnt work like that on xbox because you cant download things inside a game like that, you can get maps but not game changing software. now I mod cod 4, halo, battle field, and a couple other games on my xbox "WITH NO JTAG". it is a complicated process and would take long to explain on here, but here is a simple way to do it with out all the long codes. you transfer your profile to your USB drive, download modio or some other modding software you prefer. once your profile is on you desk top from your usb make a coppie of your profile. then you have to snoop around in your profile and find mine craft. coppie the mods into the main folder of your file. an easyer way to just have the mods on your map would to put your minecraft saved maps or files onto your usb then just put in the mods for just that map/ saved file then put the map/saved file back onto your HDD. this will work 100% no questions asked. there would just need to be a more coded and indepth tutorial than i just gave. but that is how i modd cod 4 and 6. and other games. mine craft would be easier than cod though becuase it has saved files/maps. you can also use this to add mods like more creatures and the magic mod and stuff im geussing. there ya go guys:)

BTW reec3ty this is not an attack on you incase you missunderstood what my message was. its just a solution if they dont put your epic idea in the game =)(=

    No grief protection mods
A griefer's dream. A player on XBox Live can't go 10 min. max without killing someone or breaking something.

    No Bukkit
Server managing will be difficult without Bukkit. It will be plain 'ol vanilla Minecraft with tons of griefers that won't be able to get banned.

    No mods in general
Players will get pretty bored after 1 day of Minecraft. Let's hope there will be "addons."

    Making servers
How is this to work at all? Like FortressCraft's? Most players on XBox don't have the right mind on how to make a server at all on the computer version.

    Thanks for reading :biggrin.gif:

You may be able to upload mods with usb ive found but it might not work on xbox if its a pc mod so people may recode the mods/texure and skin packs to the xbox

    Quote from Hellsrage

Transferring saves be it via USB or HDD works it just about how the game stores it saves and if the save can be accessed.

if the map transfer works and you can find saves ( i think they may put in an option to acess you maps because at mine con you can name you map.) maybe you can also upload textures and skins via usb?

ps. but the problem with that is that the mods and most maps are in the Pc version of the game. xbox is being re coded and stuff so it works on the xbox. but if it is cross platforming from pc to xbox as well maybe it will still work.

Well 2 ways I can think of.

#1 You just wait for people to make maps on the Xbox version and then download and transfer to the Xbox with a USB.

#2 They might make a way to transfer PC worlds to the Xbox version or someone else might find a way.

The only issue is I don't know if the world saves will be easy to access.

Hmm ive never uploaded anything to my xbox with a usb but it sounds like it would work after snooping around on the internet.

I have never personally owned minecraft but i have indeed played it at my friends and he downloads other peoples maps. I really want this so that if someone makes like a survival island map i can play it. That one was my favorite. Is it going to be kind of like halo where people post it in the network and you can download peoples maps?
